Chaotic Map-Based Authentication and Key Agreement Protocol with Low-Latency for Metasystem

With the rapid advancement in exploring perceptual interactions and digital twins,metaverse technology has emerged to transcend the constraints of space-time and reality,facilitating remote AI-based collaboration.In this dynamic metasystem environment,frequent information exchanges necessitate robust security measures,with Authentication and Key Agreement(AKA)serving as the primary line of defense to ensure communication security.However,traditional AKA protocols fall short in meeting the low-latency requirements essential for synchronous interactions within the metaverse.To address this challenge and enable nearly latency-free interactions,a novel low-latency AKA protocol based on chaotic maps is proposed.This protocol not only ensures mutual authentication of entities within the metasystem but also generates secure session keys.The security of these session keys is rigorously validated through formal proofs,formal verification,and informal proofs.When confronted with the Dolev-Yao(DY)threat model,the session keys are formally demonstrated to be secure under the Real-or-Random(ROR)model.The proposed protocol is further validated through simulations conducted using VMware workstation compiled in HLPSL language and C language.The simulation results affirm the protocol’s effectiveness in resisting well-known attacks while achieving the desired low latency for optimal metaverse interactions.

A Review of NILM Applications with Machine Learning Approaches

In recent years,Non-Intrusive LoadMonitoring (NILM) has become an emerging approach that provides affordableenergy management solutions using aggregated load obtained from a single smart meter in the power grid.Furthermore, by integrating Machine Learning (ML), NILM can efficiently use electrical energy and offer less ofa burden for the energy monitoring process. However, conducted research works have limitations for real-timeimplementation due to the practical issues. This paper aims to identify the contribution of ML approaches todeveloping a reliable Energy Management (EM) solution with NILM. Firstly, phases of the NILM are discussed,along with the research works that have been conducted in the domain. Secondly, the contribution of machinelearning approaches in three aspects is discussed: Supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and hybridmodeling.It highlights the limitations in the applicability of ML approaches in the field. Then, the challenges in the realtimeimplementation are concerned with six use cases: Difficulty in recognizing multiple loads at a given time,cost of running the NILM system, lack of universal framework for appliance detection, anomaly detection andnew appliance identification, and complexity of the electricity loads and real-time demand side management.Furthermore, options for selecting an approach for an efficientNILMframework are suggested. Finally, suggestionsare provided for future research directions.

Geobacter sulfurreducens promoted the biosynthesis of reduced graphene oxide and coupled it for nitrobenzene reduction

In order to explore an efficient and green method to deal with nitrobenzene(NB)pollutant,reduced graphene oxide(r GO)as an electron shuttle was applied to enhance the extracellular electron transfer(EET)process of Geobacter sulfurreducens,which was a typical electrochemically active bacteria(EAB).In this study,r GO biosynthesis was achieved via the reduction of graphene oxide(GO)by G.sulfurreducens PCA within 3 days.Also,the r GOPCA combining system completely reduced 50-200μmol/L of NB to aniline as end product within one day.SEM characterization revealed that PCA cells were partly wrapped by rGO,and therefore the distance of electron transfer between strain PCA and r GO material was reduced.Beside,the ID/IGof GO,r GO,and r GO-PCA combining system were 0.990,1.293 and 1.31,respectively.Moreover,highest currents were observed in r GO-PCA-NB as 12.950μA/-12.560μA at -408 m V/156 m V,attributing to the faster electron transfer efficiency in EET process.Therefore,the NB reduction was mainly due to:(I)direct EET process from G.sulfurreducens PCA to NB;(II)r GO served as electron shuttle and accelerated electron transfer to NB,which was the main degradation pathway.Overall,the biosynthesis of r GO via GO reduction by Geobacter promoted the NB removal process,which provided a facile strategy to alleviate the problematic nitroaromatic pollution in the environment.

With the continuous advancement of communication technology,the escalating demand for electromagnetic shielding interference(EMI)materials with multifunctional and wideband EMI performance has become urgent.Controlling the electrical and magnetic components and designing the EMI material structure have attracted extensive interest,but remain a huge challenge.Herein,we reported the alternating electromagnetic structure composite films composed of hollow metal-organic frameworks/layered MXene/nanocellulose(HMN)by alternating vacuum-assisted filtration process.The HMN composite films exhibit excellent EMI shielding effectiveness performance in the GHz frequency(66.8 dB at Kaband)and THz frequency(114.6 dB at 0.1-4.0 THz).Besides,the HMN composite films also exhibit a high reflection loss of 39.7 dB at 0.7 THz with an effective absorption bandwidth up to 2.1 THz.Moreover,HMN composite films show remarkable photothermal conversion performance,which can reach 104.6℃under 2.0 Sun and 235.4℃under 0.8 W cm^(−2),respectively.The unique micro-and macrostructural design structures will absorb more incident electromagnetic waves via interfacial polarization/multiple scattering and produce more heat energy via the local surface plasmon resonance effect.These features make the HMN composite film a promising candidate for advanced EMI devices for future 6G communication and the protection of electronic equipment in cold environments.

Prediction of the Pore-Pressure Built-Up and Temperature of Fire-Loaded Concrete with Pix2Pix

Concrete subjected to fire loads is susceptible to explosive spalling, which can lead to the exposure of reinforcingsteel bars to the fire, substantially jeopardizing the structural safety and stability. The spalling of fire-loaded concreteis closely related to the evolution of pore pressure and temperature. Conventional analytical methods involve theresolution of complex, strongly coupled multifield equations, necessitating significant computational efforts. Torapidly and accurately obtain the distributions of pore-pressure and temperature, the Pix2Pix model is adoptedin this work, which is celebrated for its capabilities in image generation. The open-source dataset used hereinfeatures RGB images we generated using a sophisticated coupled model, while the grayscale images encapsulate the15 principal variables influencing spalling. After conducting a series of tests with different layers configurations,activation functions and loss functions, the Pix2Pix model suitable for assessing the spalling risk of fire-loadedconcrete has been meticulously designed and trained. The applicability and reliability of the Pix2Pix model inconcrete parameter prediction are verified by comparing its outcomes with those derived fromthe strong couplingTHC model. Notably, for the practical engineering applications, our findings indicate that utilizing monochromeimages as the initial target for analysis yields more dependable results. This work not only offers valuable insightsfor civil engineers specializing in concrete structures but also establishes a robust methodological approach forresearchers seeking to create similar predictive models.

Defects in the grain interiors of 3 mol%yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystal ceramics with 0.25 wt%alumina

The presence of high-density defects is rarely observed in bulk 3 mol%yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystal(3Y-TZP)ceramics obtained through conventional pressureless sintering.In the present work,fine-grained dense 147 nm 3Y-TZP ceramics were prepared by pressureless sintering of commercial 0.25 wt%alumina-doped zirconia powders at 1300℃.A novel discovery was reported in which large amounts of defects were present in the grain interiors of the sample.The phenomenon was further examined using three types of powder samples,and the reasons for defect formation were investigated by microstructural characterization using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM)analysis and Rietveld refinement.The results confirmed the essential dependence of the defect formation on the alumina addition.The authors attributed the defect formation to the significant difference in ionic radii of the solvent and solute during the dissolution of alumina into the zirconia lattice.The sintering kinetics were proposed to be enhanced by the presence of substantial defects,which consequently favored the low-temperature sintering of the alumina-doped zirconia ceramics.

Since the advent of the solid-state batteries,employing solid polymer electrolytes(SPEs)to replace routine flammable liquid electrolytes is regarded to be one of the most promising solutions in pursing highenergy-density battery systems.SPEs with superior thermal stability,good processability,and high mechanical modulus obtain increasing attentions.However,SPE-based batteries are not impenetrable due to their decomposition and combustibility under extreme conditions.Researchers believe incorporating appropriate flame-retardant additives/solvents/fragments into SPEs can intrinsically reduce their flammability to solve the battery safety issues.In this review,the recent research progress of incombustible SPEs,with special emphasis on flame-retardant structural design,is summarized.Specifically,a brief introduction of flame-retardant mechanism,evaluation index for safety of SPEs,and a detailed overview of the latest advances on diverse-types SPEs in various battery systems are highlighted.The deep insight into thermal ru naway process,the free-standing incombustible GPEs,and the ratio nal design of pouch cell structures may be the main directions to motivate revolutionary next-generation for safety batteries.

1.Main text Owing to their low density and high specific strength,magnesium alloys and magnesium-based composites have great potential as structure metal materials in applications where lightweight matters[1–4].Deformation twins[5],especially the{1012}tension twins(also called tensile or extension twins)with a low critical resolved shear stress(CRSS)[6],are commonly observed in Mg alloys.They can provide the much-needed deformation along the c-axis in their hcp structure resulting from the very few easily activated slip systems in this crystal structure[7].The tensile twinning activation usually follows the macroscopic Schmid factor law[2],i.e.,the twin variant with the highest Schmid factor occurs,and it only appears when its Schmid factor is positive.

Data-driven Reactive Power Optimization of Distribution Networks via Graph Attention Networks

Reactive power optimization of distribution networks is traditionally addressed by physical model based methods, which often lead to locally optimal solutions and require heavy online inference time consumption. To improve the quality of the solution and reduce the inference time burden, this paper proposes a new graph attention networks based method to directly map the complex nonlinear relationship between graphs(topology and power loads) and reactive power scheduling schemes of distribution networks, from a data-driven perspective. The graph attention network is tailored specifically to this problem and incorporates several innovative features such as a self-loop in the adjacency matrix, a customized loss function, and the use of max-pooling layers. Additionally, a rulebased strategy is proposed to adjust infeasible solutions that violate constraints. Simulation results on multiple distribution networks demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms other machine learning based methods in terms of the solution quality and robustness to varying load conditions. Moreover, its online inference time is significantly faster than traditional physical model based methods, particularly for large-scale distribution networks.

Junshanyinzhen tea extract prevents obesity by regulating gut microbiota and metabolic endotoxemia in high-fat diet fed rats

Obesity is associated with gut dysbiosis and metabolic endotoxin.Junshanyinzhen tea extract(JSTE)reduced fat accumulation and body weight in obese mice.However,the effects and mechanism of JSTE in preventing obesity were unclear.Therefore,we used different doses of JSTE(75,150 and 300 mg/(kg·day))to evaluate the effect on high-fat diet(HFD)-induced rats under 8 weeks of intervention.Here,our results showed that JSTE could significantly reduce body weight gain,blood lipid levels and fat accumulation,improve fatty damage in liver tissue(P<0.05).In addition,JSTE increased the expression of intestinal tight junction proteins(P<0.05),relieved metabolic endotoxemia(P<0.05)and chronic low-grade inflammation in HFD rats.Sequencing of fecal samples showed that JSTE could effectively reverse the microbial diversity and the ratio of Firmicutes to Bacteroidetes to normal levels in HFD-fed rats.Desulfovibrioceae and Erysipelotrichaceae,which are positively related to obesity,were decreased by JSTE intervention(P<0.05).while Bifidobacteriaceae,Bacteroidaceae,Akkermansia,and Clostridium,which are negatively related to obesity,were increased.Together,these results suggested that JSTE might effectively prevent obesity by modulating gut microbiota dysbiosis,intestinal barrier dysfunction,metabolic endotoxemia and chronic low-grade infl ammation in HFD-induced rats.
