In-situ formation of nitrogen doped microporous carbon nanospheres derived from polystyrene as lubricant additives for anti-wear and friction reduction

This study presents a nitrogen-doped microporous carbon nanospheres(N@MCNs)prepared by a facile polymerization–carbonization process using low-cost styrene.The N element in situ introduces polystyrene(PS)nanospheres via emulsion polymerization of styrene with cyanuric chloride as crosslinking agent,and then carbonization obtains N@MCNs.The as-prepared carbon nanospheres possess the complete spherical structure and adjustable nitrogen amount by controlling the relative proportion of tetrachloromethane and cyanuric chloride.The friction performance of N@MCNs as lubricating oil additives was surveyed utilizing the friction experiment of ball-disc structure.The results showed that N@MCNs exhibit superb reduction performance of friction and wear.When the addition of N@MCNs was 0.06 wt%,the friction coefficient of PAO-10 decreased from 0.188 to 0.105,and the wear volume reduced by 94.4%.The width and depth of wear marks of N@MCNs decreased by 49.2% and 94.5%,respectively.The carrying capacity of load was rocketed from 100 to 400 N concurrently.Through the analysis of the lubrication mechanism,the result manifested that the prepared N@MCNs enter clearance of the friction pair,transform the sliding friction into the mixed friction of sliding and rolling,and repair the contact surface through the repair effect.Furthermore,the tribochemical reaction between nanoparticles and friction pairs forms a protective film containing nitride and metal oxides,which can avert direct contact with the matrix and improve the tribological properties.This experiment showed that nitrogen-doped polystyrene-based carbon nanospheres prepared by in-situ doping are the promising materials for wear resistance and reducing friction.This preparing method can be ulteriorly expanded to multi-element co-permeable materials.Nitrogen and boron co-doped carbon nanospheres(B,N@MCNs)were prepared by mixed carbonization of N-enriched PS and boric acid,and exhibited high load carrying capacity and good tribological properties.

Population genomic data reveal low genetic diversity,divergence and local adaptation among threatened Reeves's Pheasant(Syrmaticus reevesii)

Population genomic data could provide valuable information for conservation efforts;however,limited studies have been conducted to investigate the genetic status of threatened pheasants.Reeves’s Pheasant(Syrmaticus reevesii)is facing population decline,attributed to increases in habitat loss.There is a knowledge gap in understanding the genomic status and genetic basis underlying the local adaptation of this threatened bird.Here,we used population genomic data to assess population structure,genetic diversity,inbreeding patterns,and genetic divergence.Furthermore,we identified candidate genes linked with adaptation across the current distribution of Reeves’s Pheasant.The present study assembled the first de novo genome sequence of Reeves’s Pheasant and annotated 19,458 genes.We also sequenced 30 individuals from three populations(Dabie Mountain,Shennongjia,qinling Mountain)and found that there was clear population structure among those populations.By comparing with other threatened species,we found that Reeves’s Pheasants have low genetic diversity.Runs of homozygosity suggest that the Shennongjia population has experienced serious inbreeding.The demographic history results indicated that three populations experienced several declines during the glacial period.Local adaptative analysis among the populations identified 241 candidate genes under directional selection.They are involved in a large variety of processes,including the immune response and pigmentation.Our results suggest that the three populations should be considered as three different conservation units.The current study provides genetic evidence for conserving the threatened Reeves’s Pheasant and provides genomic resources for global biodiversity management.

A Plant Biostimulant is any substance or microorganism applied to plants to enhance nutrition efficiency,abioticstress tolerance,and/or crop quality traits,regardless of its nutrient content.The application of Plant biostimulants(PBs)in production can reduce the application of traditional pesticides and chemical fertilizers and improvethe quality and yield of crops,which is conducive to the sustainable development of agriculture.An in-depthunderstanding of the mechanism and effect of various PBs is very important for how to apply PBs reasonablyand effectively in the practice of crop production.This paper summarizes the main classification of PBs;Thegrowth promotion mechanism of PBs was analyzed from four aspects:improving soil physical and chemical properties,enhancing crop nutrient absorption capacity,photosynthesis capacity,and abiotic stress tolerance;At thesame time,the effects of PBs application on seed germination,seedling vigor,crop yield,and quality were summarized;Finally,how to continue to explore and study the use and mechanism of PBs in the future is analyzedand prospected,to better guide the application of PBs in crop production in the future.

Background: Prenatal and postnatal factors may have joint effects on cardiovascular health, and we aimed to assess the joint association of birth weight and ideal cardiovascular health metrics (ICVHMs) prospectively in adulthood with incident cardiovascular disease (CVD).Methods: In the UK Biobank, 227,833 participants with data on ICVHM components and birth weight and without CVD at baseline were included. The ICVHMs included smoking, body mass index, physical activity, diet information, total cholesterol, blood pressure, and hemoglobin A1c. The Cox proportional hazards model was used to estimate the hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) in men and women.Results: Over a median follow-up period of 13.0 years (2,831,236 person-years), we documented 17,477 patients with incident CVD. Compared with participants with birth weights of 2.5-4.0 kg, the HRs (95% CIs) of CVD among those with low birth weights was 1.08 (1.00-1.16) in men and 1.23 (1.16-1.31) in women. The association between having a birth weight lusions: Birth weight and ICVHMs were jointly related to CVD risk. Attaining a normal birth weight and ideal ICVHMs may reduce the risk of CVD, and a simultaneous improvement of both prenatal and postnatal factors could further prevent additional cases in women.

Constructing structure-function relationships is critical for the rational design and development of efficient catalysts for CO2 electroreduction reaction(CO2RR).In2O3 is well-known for its specific ability to produce formic acid.However,how the crystal phase and surface affect the CO_(2)RR activity is still unclear,making it difficult to further improve the intrinsic activity and screen for the most active structure.In this work,cubic and hexagonal In_(2)O_(3) with different stable surfaces((111)and(110)for cubic,(120)and(104)for hexagonal)are investigated for CO_(2)RR.Theoretical results demonstrate that the adsorption of reactants on cubic In_(2)O_(3) is stronger than that on hexagonal In_(2)O_(3),with the cubic(111)surface being the most active for CO_(2)RR.In experiments,synthesized cubic In_(2)O_(3) nanosheets with predominantly exposed(111)surfaces exhibited a high HCOO^(-)Faradaic efficiency(87.5%)and HCOO^(–)current density(–16.7 mA cm^(-2))at–0.9 V vs RHE.In addition,an aqueous Zn-CO_(2) battery based on a cubic In2O3 cathode was assembled.Our work correlates the phases and surfaces with the CO_(2)RR activity,and provides a fundamental understanding of the structure-function relationship of In_(2)O_(3),thereby contributing to further improvements in its CO_(2)RR activity.Moreover,the results provide a principle for the directional preparation of materials with optimal phases and surfaces for efficient electrocatalysis.

With the shortage of lithium resources,sodiumion batteries（SIBs） are considered one of the most promising candidates for lithium-ion batteries.P2-type and O3-type layered oxides are one of the few cathodes that can access high energy density.However,they usually exhibit structural change,capacity decay,and slow Na ion kinetic.Herein,we present layered ternary-phase cathodes with P2,P3 and O3 phases by a lattice doping strategy,which is demonstrated by X-ray diffraction（XRD） refinement.Combining the characteristics of P2,P3 and O3 phases,the layered composites show performance improvement during long-term battery cycling.In particular,Na0.7Li0.1Co0.3-Fe0.3Mn0.3O2（NLCFM） delivers a reversible capacity of120.1 mAh·g-1at 0.1C(1.0C=175 mA·g-1) with a superior capacity retention of 72.5% after 1000 cycles at10.0C.This work offers insights into the development of advanced cathode materials for SIBs.

Balancing efficacy and safety of doxorubicin-loaded albumin nanoparticles utilizing pH-sensitive doxorubicin-fatty acid prodrugs

Albumin nanoparticles(ANPs)offer unique advantages for antitumor drug delivery system,including non-immunogenicity and inherent tumor-targeting capacity.At present,only a few products,such as ABRAXANE®and FYARRO™,have been approved for clinical applications.The poor affinity of doxorubicin(DOX)for albumin,coupled with its numerous severe adverse reactions,poses challenges in the fabrication of desirable albumin nanoparticles loaded with DOX.In this study,we developed prodrugs by conjugating fatty acids of varying lengths with DOX.Our aim was to investigate the balance between efficacy and safety through the selection of appropriate modules.We synthesized five pH-sensitive doxorubicin-fatty acid prodrugs.Compared to free DOX,all DOX prodrug ANPs exhibited a uniform size distribution with desirable sizes of 150 nm.Additionally,DOX prodrugs with hydrazone bonds remained intact in blood circulation while releasing DOX within tumor cells.Significantly,the characteristics of prodrug ANPs were considerably influenced by the length of fatty acids,impacting their in vivo pharmacokinetics,antitumor effectiveness and tumor accumulation.This research offers a detailed understanding of the length of fatty acid influence on DOX-fatty acid prodrug-based ANPs,and it builds a good platform for creating ANPs which prioritize high drug loading,high efficiency,and minimal side effects.

Dual-assisted high-precision tracking technique for wideband multiplexed signals in new generation GNSS

With the evolution of Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS),new generation GNSS signals have adopted the dual-frequency multiplexing modulation techniques,which jointly modulate multiple signals located on multiple sub-frequencies into a Wideband Multiplexed Signal(WMS).Although WMSs were proposed initially to reduce the complexity of satellite transmitters and improve the transmission efficiency of signals,their multi-component structures and wide root mean square bandwidths introduced by high-frequency subcarriers also provide the possibility to improve the GNSS ranging precision.Therefore,this paper proposes a Dual-assisted Multi-component Tracking(DMT)technique,which can not only fully use high-frequency subcarriers in WMSs,but also effectively track carrier,subcarrier,and code by jointly utilizing all components in WMS.In this paper,the tracking and ranging performances of DMT are comprehensively analyzed theoretically and by simulation and real experiments.The results show that compared with existing WMS tracking methods,DMT can achieve tracking results with lower tracking jitters and ranging results with higher precision,providing a highly advantageous solution for new generation GNSS signal processing.

Association of complement components with risk of colorectal cancer:A systematic review and meta-analysis

BACKGROUND Complement components could contribute to the tumor microenvironment and the systemic immune response.Nevertheless,their role in colorectal cancer(CRC)remains a contentious subject.AIM To elucidate the relationship between complement components and CRC risk and clinical characteristics.METHODS Searches were conducted in PubMed,the Cochrane Library,and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure database until June 1,2023.We included cohort studies encompassing participants aged≥18 years,investigating the association between complement components and CRC.The studies were of moderate quality or above,as determined by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.The meta-analysis employed fixed-effects or random-effects models based on the I^(2)test,utilizing risk ratio(RR)and their corresponding 95%confidence interval(CI)for outcomes.Sensitivity and subgroup analyses were performed to validate the robustness of the collective estimates and identify the source of heterogeneity.RESULTS Data from 15 studies,comprising 1631 participants that met the inclusion criteria,were included in the meta-analysis.Our findings indicated that protein levels of cluster of differentiation 46(CD46)(RR=3.66,95%CI:1.75-7.64,PluSION Our analysis underscores that increased levels of specific complement components are associated with a heightened risk of CRC,emphasi

A GNSS Anti-Spoofing Technique Based on the Spatial Distribution Characteristic of the Residual Vectors

Anti-spoofing is becoming a crucial technique for applications with high navigation accuracy and reliability requirements.Anti-spoofing technique based on Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring(RAIM)is a good choice for most Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)receivers because it does not require any change to the hardware of the receiver.However,the conventional RAIM method can only detect and mitigate a single spoofing signal.Some improved RAIM methods can deal with more spoofing signals,but the computational complexity increases dramatically when the number of satellites in view increase or need additional information.This paper proposes a new RAIM method,called the SRV-RAIM method,which has a very low computation complexity regardless of the number of satellites in view and can deal with any number of spoofing signals.The key to the new method is the spatial distribution characteristic of the Satellites'Residual Vectors(SRV).In replay or generative spoofing scenarios,the pseudorange measurements of spoofing signals are consistent,the residual vectors of real satellites and those of spoofing satellites have good separation characteristics in spatial distribution.Based on this characteristic,the SRV-RAIM method is proposed,and the simulation results show that the method can separate the real signals and the spoofing signals with an average probability of 86.55%in the case of 12 visible satellites,regardless of the number of spoofing signals.Compared to the conventional traversal-RAIM method,the performance is only reduced by 3.59%,but the computational cost is reduced by 98.3%,so most of the GNSS receivers can run the SRV-RAIM algorithm in time.
