Background Ciliopath.es are a group of diseases associated with.abnormal structure or function of primary cilia. Ciliopath.es include polycystic kidney disease （PKD）, a path.logy associated with.vascular h.pertension. We previously sh.wed th.t cilia length.regulates cilia function, and cilia function is required for nitric oxide （NO） biosynth.sis in endoth.lial cells. Because patients with.PKD sh.w abnormal sensory cilia function, th. aim of our current study was to search.for a targeted th.rapy focused on primary cilia, wh.ch.we refer to as ＇cilio- th.rapy＇. Meth.ds and Results In th. present studies, our in vitro analyses refined fenoldopam as an equipotent and more specific dopa- minergic agonist to regulate cilia length.and function. Our in vivo studies indicated th.t fenoldopam increased cilia length.and serum NO th.reby reducing blood pressure in a PKD mouse model. Our crossover, multicenter, double-blind and placebo-controlled clinical study furth.r indicated th.t cilia-targeting th.rapy sh.wed an overall reduction in mean arterial pressure in PKD patients. Conclusions Overall, our studies provide th. first evidence of cilioth.rapy as an innovative intervention in patients with.abnormal primary cilia.

Biobased smart packaging is been th. most interesting research.*** th.s study,ph.sensitive films based on anth.cyanin molecules from red cabbage and sepiolite mineral nano-clay as functional additives were *** films were fabricated by casting meth.d of blend polymer Ch.tosan/Poly(Vinyl Alcoh.l)at two fillers loading(5wt.%and 10wt.%).Th. structural,morph.logical,th.rmal,optical,h.groscopic,and mech.nical properties as well as th. ph.sensitivity of films were *** th.rmal properties confirm th.t th. amount of th. anth.cyanin in sepiolite was around 6.4%.Th. tensile strength.and th. young’s modulus of produced composites at 10wt.%sepiolite–anth.cyanin content was increased to 8.90 MPa and 163 MPa,*** maximum water absorption th.t th. films may absorb was 12.3%.ph.sensitivity analysis sh.wed th.t th. Smart films ch.nge th. color by ch.nging th. ph.level,from pink at ph.lower th.n 6 to yellow at ph.h.gh.r th.n ***,th. developed ph.sensitive films sh.w band gaps in visible ligh. th.t make th.m useful for monitoring milk spoilage.
