Efficiency of KOH-modified rice straw-derived biochar for reducing cadmium mobility, bioaccessibility and bioavailability risk index in red soil

Cadmium(Cd)pollution in agricultural soils has exerted a serious threat due to continuous application of pesticides,fertilizers,and wastewater *** present study aimed to test the efficiency of KOH-modified and non-modified rice straw-derived biochar(KBC and BC,respectively)for reducing Cd solubility and bioavailability in Cd-contaminated ***-contaminated soil was incubated for 60 d with 15 and 30 g kg-1 BC and *** the end of incubation,Cd mobility was estimated by the European Community Bureau of Reference sequential extraction and toxicity characteristic leaching procedure(TCLP),while bioavailability was determined using 1 molL-1 NH4NO3 *** bioavailability risk index and bioaccessibility,assessed by a simple bioaccessibility extraction test,of Cd were used to examine the potential effects of Cd on living *** results indicated that application of both KBC and BC significantly increased soil p H,cation exchange capacity,nutrients,and organic *** soluble fraction of Cd was significantly decreased by 30.3%and 27.4%,respectively,with the addition of KBC and BC at 30 g kg-1 compared to the control(without biochar addition).Similarly,the bioaccessible Cd was significantly decreased by 32.4%and 25.2%,respectively,with the addition of KBC and BC at 30 g kg-1 compared to the *** addition,both KBC and BC significantly reduced Cd leaching in the TCLP and NH4NO3-extractable Cd in the amended soil compared to the *** reduction in Cd solubility and bioaccessibility by KBC and BC may be due to significant increases in soil pH and surface ***,KBC at an application rate of 30 g kg-1 demonstrated positive results as soil amendment for Cd immobilization,and reduced bioaccessible Cd in contaminated soil.

Qualification of Atomic Absorption Spectrometer in Prospective View of Pharmaceutical Analysis

AAS was qualified as per pharmacopoeia requirements. Copper, manganese, mercury and cadmium hallow cathode lamps were used for qualification purposes. Design qualification and installation qualification met the criteria of user requirements. Wavelength accuracy and reproducibility, resolution and baseline stability are in compliance with user requirements. Characteristics concentration or sensitivity, detection limit and characteristics mass were performed as a part of operational qualification which is 0.062 μg/mL, 0.00354 μg/mL, 1.41 pg respectively. Results of % RSD for precision study is 0.352 and 0.487 for flame and graphite furnace mode respectively fulfilled criteria of qualification. Performance qualification results of 20 consecutive days demonstrate the predetermined specification. Analytical instrument qualification and method validation relationship is also described by assay performed on haemodialysis concentrate. Good precision (2) greater than 0.9997 for potassium, magnesium and calcium linear curves, lower detection limits for all three ingredients and robust assay data as a part of validation studies conform the qualified AAS for its intended application.

CuO added Pb_(0.92)Sr_(0.06)Ba_(0.02)(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))_(0.25)(Ti_(0.53)Zr_(0.47))_(0.75)O_3 ceramics sintered with Ag electrodes at 900℃ for multilayer piezoelectric actuator

CuO added Pb0.92Sr0.06Ba0.02（Mg1/3Nb2/3）0.25（Ti0.53Zr0.47）0.75O3 ceramics were studied to prepare high-quality multilayer piezoelectric actuators with pure Ag electrodes at 900 ℃. CuO addition not only reduced the sintering temperature significantly from 1260 ℃ to 900 ℃ but also improved the ceramic density to 7.742 g/cm3. The 0.7 wt.% CuO added ceramic sintered at 900 ℃ shows the remnant polarization （Pr） of 40 μC/cm2, 0.28% strain at 40 kV/cm, and the piezoelectric coefficient （d33） of 630 pC/N. This ceramic shows a strong relaxor characteristic with a Curie temperature of 200 ℃. Furthermore, the 0.7 wt.% CuO added ceramic and pure Ag electrodes were co-fired at 900 ℃ to prepare a high-quality multilayer piezoelectric actuator with a d33 of over 450 pC/N per ceramic layer.
