Groundwater is one of the main resources from the earth, especially for arid or semiarid countries. For this reason, it is very important to keep it unpolluted. Drastic Model is one of the widely used models to detect groundwater vulnerability to the contaminants that are found on ground surface. In this model, it is assumed that the vulnerability of the groundwater is affected by seven hydrological parameters. They are: depth from the surface ground to groundwater, net recharge into the aquifer from the surface, aquifer media, soil media, area topography, impact of vadose zone and aquifer hydraulic conductivity. In this study, the DRASTIC model was applied on the northern part of Babylon governorate in Iraq, to predict the vulnerability of Groundwater in that area. The results indicate that the vulnerability is very low to low grade.

Iraq highly depends on its surface water resources. Now it is facing water shortage problems. For these reasons, the utilization of groundwater will be increasing with time. Karbala Governorate is located in the central part of Iraq. It covers an area of 5034 km2 and the population exceeds one million. It is characterized by an arid or semiarid environment. Karbala Governorate lack surface water resource and consequently, groundwater is the only available resource. The main groundwater aquifer within the area is Dibdibba formation. It is composed of poorly sorted sand and sand stone with gravel. In this research hydrological and hydrogeological information were used to find out the magnitude and the direction of groundwater seepage velocity. The results indicate that groundwater flow toward the flood plain to the east of the study region. The seepage velocity ranges from 0 to 0.18 m/d, with a general increase when moving from the west to the east.

Metal oxide mesocrystals are the alignment of metal oxide nanoparticles building blocks into the ordered superstructure,which have potentially tunable optical,electronic,and electrical properties suitable for practical ***,we report an effective method for synthesizing mesocrystal zinc oxide nanorods(ZnONRs).The crystal,surface,and internal structures of the zinc oxide mesocrystals were fully *** zinc oxide nanorods/reduced graphene oxide(ZnONRs/rGO)nanocomposite superstructure were synthesized also using the hydrothermal *** crystal,surface,chemical,and internal structures of the ZnONRs/rGO nanocomposite superstructure were also fully *** optical absorption coefficient,bandgap energy,band structure,and electrical conductivity of the ZnONRs/rGO nanocomposite superstructure were investigated to understand its optoelectronic and electrical ***,the photoconductivity of the ZnONRs/rGO nanocomposite superstructure was explored to find the possibilities of using this nanocomposite superstructure for ultraviolet(UV)photodetection ***,we concluded that the ZnONRs/rGO nanocomposite superstructure has high UV sensitivity and is suitable for UV detector applications.

This study investigated the effects of highland barley’s germination time(24,48,and 72 h)on the thermomechanical,pasting,fermentation,dynamic rheological,molecular mobility,and protein structural properties of oat-wheat composite flour *** significantly reduced flour water absorption,freezable water,melting enthalpy,and increased protein weakening compared with native barley(NB)*** addition,germination decreased bound and immobilized water and increased the free water compared to the NB-composite flour dough samples,according to the results of a low-field nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer(LF-NMR).Germination also increased the protein’s extractability and surface hydrophobicity while negatively impacting the starch-protein network;however,it decreased bread-specific *** for 24 h,on the other hand,had minor effects on dough and bread samples compared to 48 and 72 *** a result,germination for 24 h under controlled conditions could be used to improve the rheological qualities of highland barley and avoid the adverse rheological effects of the prolonged germination period.

The alarming water and energy crisis in many regions of the world can be eased by combining renewable energy with desalination technologies. The ADIRA project funded by the EU looked for demonstrating the feasibility of water desalination in areas around the Mediterranean by installing a number of autonomous desalination systems (ADS) which are able to convert brackish or seawater into potable water for the needs of small communities. Within the activities of the ADIRA project a reverse osmosis unit powered by photovoltaic electricity was installed in a village in the northern part of Jordan with a capacity of 0.5 m3/day. The system was composed of a softener, reverse osmosis unit, PV panels (432 Wp) and storage batteries. Residential type “OSMONICS” membrane (TFM-100) was utilized in the RO unit. Field tests were performed on brackish water (1700 mg/L total dissolved solids (TDS)). This paper sheds the light on the process flow diagram, sizing of the system main components and presents some of the results obtained.

Wireless sensor networks(WSNs)have gotten a lot of attention as useful tools for gathering *** energy problem has been a fundamental constraint and challenge faced by many WSN applications due to the size and cost constraints of the sensor *** paper proposed a data fusion model based on the back propagation neural network(BPNN)model to address the problem of a large number of invalid or redundant *** three layeredbased BPNNs and a TEEN threshold,the proposed model describes the cluster structure and filters out unnecessary *** the information transmission process,the neural network’s output function is used to deal with a large amount of sensing data,where the feature value of sensing data is extracted and transmitted to the sink *** terms of life cycle,data traffic,and network use,simulation results show that the proposed data fusion model outperforms the traditional TEEN *** a result,the proposed scheme increases the life cycle of the network thereby lowering energy usage and traffic.

Objective:To green synthesize and characterize copper nanoparticles(Cu NPs)using Astragalus sinicus,as well as evaluate the acaricidal,larvacidal,and repellent activities of Cu NPs against Hyalomma anatolicum(***),one of the most prevalent ticks infesting cattle in Saudi ***:Cu NPs were green synthesized by adding the Astragalus sinicus extract to a copper sulfate *** acaricidal,larvicidal,and repellent activities of Cu NPs against *** were assessed via the adult immersion test,the larval packet test,and the vertical movement behavior of tick larvae,*** effects of Cu NPs on acetylcholinesterase as well as oxidative enzyme activities were ***:The green synthesized Cu NPs displayed a spherical form with a size range of 15-75 *** exposure of adult *** to different concentrations of Cu NPs,the viability rate of adult *** and the mean number,weight,and hatchability of eggs were noticeably reduced,in comparison to the control group(Palues of 11.30 and 20.34μg/m L,*** maximum repellent activity of Cu NPs was observed at 50,100,and 200μg/m L with complete repellent activity after 60,120,and 180 min of exposure,*** NPs,mainly at 1/2 LC_(50)and LC_(50)concentrations,markedly suppressed the acetylcholinesterase activity of the larval stage of ***(Palondialdehyde level while declining glutathione-S-transferase level in *** larvae(Pal,larvicidal,and repellent activities against adults and larvae of ***,further studies must be performed to clarify the precise mechanisms and the efficacy of Cu NPs in practical use.

A New Chaotic Behavior from Lorenz and Rossler Systems and Its Electronic Circuit Implementation

This paper presents a new three-dimensional continuous autonomous chaotic system with ten terms and three quadratic nonlinearities. The new system contains five variational parameters and exhibits Lorenz and Rossler like attractors in numerical simulations. The basic dynamical properties of the new system are analyzed by means of equilibrium points, eigenvalue structures. Some of the basic dynamic behavior of the system is explored further investigation in the Lyapunov Exponent. The new system examined in Matlab-Simulink and Orcad-PSpice. An electronic circuit realization of the proposed system is presented using analog electronic elements such as capacitors, resistors, operational amplifiers and multipliers.

Power systems are the largest and most complex human made systems, consisting of thousands of electrical sources, loads, transmission and distribution lines, power transformers, circuit breakers, etc. where faults always occurred. Faults can cause personnel and equipment safety problems, and can result in significant disruption to power supply and thus financial losses. In this paper we will present comprehensive mathematical suite to detect and classify fault dependent models of various types of power systems. This work will extract fault unique signatures by using polarization ellipse during the healthy condition and the polarization will be circular shape with radius equal the rated voltage of the system, but during the fault condition the polarization will be ellipse shape and the fault signature will be defined according the ellipse parameters major axis, minor axis, ellipticity and orientation angle, by using least squares criterion will define the ellipse parameters this system will identify and classify. This paper will be a milestone for extended paper based on the proposed mathematical modelling and applying it to identify, classify and localize with simulation model.
