This paper investigates the hydrodynamic characteristics of floating truncated cylinders undergoing horizontal and vertical motions due to earthquake excitations in the finite water depth.The governing equation of the hydrodynamic pressure acting on the cylinder is derived based on the radiation theory with the inviscid and incompressible assumptions.The governing equation is solved by using the method of separating variables and analytical solutions are obtained by assigning reasonable boundary conditions.The analytical result is validated by a numerical model using the exact artificial boundary simulation of the infinite water.The main variation and distribution characteristics of the hydrodynamic pressure acting on the side and bottom of the cylinder are analyzed for different combinations of wide-height and immersion ratios.The added mass coefficient of the cylinder is calculated by integrating the hydrodynamic pressure and simplified formulas are proposed for engineering applications.The calculation results show that the simplified formulas are in good agreement with the analytical solutions.

A 5-MW wind turbine has been modeled and analyzed for fluid-structure interaction and aerodynamic performance.In this study,a full-scale model of a 5-MW wind turbine is first developed based on a computational fluid dynamics(CFD)approach,in which the unsteady,noncompressible Reynolds Averaged Navier‒Stokes(RANS)method is used.The main focus of the study is to analyze the tower shadow effect on the aerodynamic performance of the wind turbine under different inlet flow conditions.Subsequently,the finite element model is established by considering fluid/structure interactions to study the structural stress,displacement,strain distributions and flow field information of the structure under the uniform wind speed.Finally,the fluid-structure interaction model is established by considering turbulent wind and the tower shadow effect.The variation rules of the dynamic response of the one-way and twoway fluid−structure interaction(FSI)models under different wind speeds are analyzed,and the numerical calculation results are compared with those of the centralized mass model.The results show that the tower shadow effect and structural deformation are the main factors affecting the aerodynamic load fluctuation of the wind turbine,which in turn affects the aerodynamic performance and structural stability of the blades.The structural dynamic response of the coupled model shows significant similarity,while the structural displacement response of the former exhibits less fluctuation compared with the conventional centralized mass model.The one-way fluid-structure interaction(FSI)model shows a higher frequency of stress-strain and displacement oscillations on the blade compared with the twoway FSI model.

CO_(2) electroreduction to formic acid/formate would contribute to alleviating the energy and climate crisis.This work reports a Bi-based catalyst derived from the in-situ electroreduction of Bi_(2)O_(2)CO_(3) modified with iodine and pyrenyl-graphdiyne(PGDY)on the surface for efficient electroreduction of CO_(2) in acidic electrolyte,with a high partial current density of 98.71 mA·cm^(-2) and high Faradaic efficiency(FE)>90%over the potential range from^(-1).2 to-1.5 V vs.reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE),as well as the long-term operational stability over 240 h without degradation in H-type cell.Experimental results and density function theory calculations show that the synergistic effect of surface iodine and PGDY is responsible for this active and extremely stable process of CO_(2) electroreduction via lowering the energy barriers for formation of*OCHO intermediate,suppressing the competitive HER by enhancing the concentration of both K+and CO_(2) at reaction interface,as well as preventing the dissolution and re-deposition of active Bi atoms on surface during catalytic reaction.This work provides new insight into designing highly active and stable electrocatalysts for CO_(2) reduction.

The organic-rich mudstones and dolostones of the Permian Fengcheng Formation(Fm.)are typically alkaline lacustrine source rocks,which are typified by impressively abundantβ-carotane.Abundantβ-carotane has been well acknowledged as an effective indicator of biological sources or depositional environments.However,the specific biological sources ofβ-carotane and the coupling control of biological sources and environmental factors on the enrichment ofβ-carotane in the Fengcheng Fm.remains obscure.Based on a comprehensive investigation of the bulk,molecular geochemistry,and organic petrology of sedimentary rocks and the biochemistry of phytoplankton in modern alkaline lakes,we proposed a new understanding of the biological precursors ofβ-carotane and elucidated the enrichment mechanism ofβ-carotane in the Fengcheng Fm.The results show that the biological precursors crucially control the enrichment ofβ-carotane in the Fengcheng Fm.The haloalkaliphilic cyanobacteria are the primary biological sources ofβ-carotane,which is suggested by a good positive correlation between the2-methylhopane index,7-+8-methyl heptadecanes/C_(max),C_(29%),andβ-carotane/C_(max)in sedimentary rocks and the predominance of cyanobacteria with abundantβ-carotene in modern alkaline lakes.The enrichment ofβ-carotane requires the reducing condition,and the paleoredox state that affects the enrichment ofβ-carotane appears to have a threshold.The paleoclimate conditions do not considerably impact the enrichment ofβ-carotane,but they have some influence on the water's paleosalinity by affecting evaporation and precipitation.While it does not directly affect the enrichment ofβ-carotane in the Fengcheng Fm.,paleosalinity does have an impact on the cyanobacterial precursor supply and the preservation conditions.

To adapt the practical demand,designing and constructing the multifunctional microwave absorbers(MAs)is the key future direction of research and development.However,effective integrating the multiple functions into a single material remains a huge challenge.Herein,cellular carbon foams(CCFs)with different porous structures were elaborately designed and fabricated in high efficiency through a facile continuous freeze-drying and carbonization processes using a sustainable biomass chitosan as the precursor.The obtained results revealed that the thermal treated temperature and g-C_(3)N_(4) amount played a great impact on the carbonization degrees,pore sizes,and morphologies of CCFs,which led to their tunable electromagnetic(EM)parameters,improved conduction loss,and polarization loss abilities.Owing to the special cellular structure,the designed CCFs samples simultaneously displayed the strong absorption capabilities,broad absorption bandwidths,and thin matching thicknesses.Meanwhile,the as-prepared CCFs exhibited the strong hydrophobicity and good thermal insulation,endowing its attractive functions of self-cleaning and thermal insulation.Therefore,our findings not only presented a facile approach to produce different porous structures of CCFs,but also provided an effective strategy to develop multifunctional high-performance MAs on basis of three-dimensional CCFs.

Background:The effects of acupuncture have varied in different randomized controlled trials(RCTs),and there are many factors that influence treatment effect of acupuncture in different outcomes,with conflicting results.Objective:To identify factors and their impact on the treatment effect of acupuncture in different outcomes.Methods:Acupuncture RCTs were searched from 7 databases including Medline(Pub Med),Embase,Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Database,VIP Database,and China Biology Medicine disc between January 1st,2015 and December 31st,2019.Eligible studies must compare acupuncture to no acupuncture,sham acupuncture,or waiting lists,and report at least 1patient-important outcome.A multi-level meta-regression was conducted using a 3-level robust mixed model and univariate analyses were performed for all independent variables,even those excluded from the multivariable model due to collinearities.We used thresholds of 0.2 and 0.4 for the difference of standardized mean differences(SMDs),categorising them as small(0.4) effects.Results:The pain construct analysis involved 211 effect estimates from 153 studies and 14 independent variables.High-frequency acupuncture treatment sessions produced larger effects compared to low-frequency sessions [large magnitude,the difference of adjusted SMDs 0.46,95% confidence interval(CI) 0.07 to 0.84;P=0.02].The non-pain symptoms construct analysis comprised 323 effect estimates from 231 studies and 15 independent variables.Penetrating acupuncture showed moderately larger effects when compared to non-penetrating acupuncture(0.30,95% CI 0.06 to 0.53;P=0.01).The function construct analysis included 495 effect estimates from 274 studies and 14 independent variables.Penetrating acupuncture and the flexible acupuncture regimen showed moderately larger effects,compared to non-penetrating acupuncture and fixed regimen,respectively(0.40,95% CI 0 to 0.80;P=0.05;0.29,95% CI 0.06 to 0.53;P=0.01).

CaCu_(3)Ti_(4)O_(12)(CCTO)ceramic nanocomposites incorporating graphene–carbon black(GRCB)fillers were fabricated by spark plasma sintering process.The percolative effects of conductive GRCB fillers on dielectric response of GRCB/CCTO ternary metacomposites were systematically investigated.The weakly real permittivity(ε′)-negative response(ε′~−1×10^(2))was achieved which originated from weakly low-frequency plasmonic state of free carriers within constructed GRCB networks.With enhancing three-dimensional GRCB network,the plasma frequency of metacomposites increased while the damping factor decreased.Herein,theε′-negative values of metacomposites were tuned from−10^(2) to−10^(4) orders of magnitude andε′-near-zero(ENZ)frequencies from~142 to~340 MHz which substantially benefited from the moderate carrier concentration of GRCB dual fillers.The Drude model and equivalent circuit models were adopted to demonstrate dielectric and electrical characteristics.The obtained metacomposites show strong EM shielding effect along with enhanced plasmonic oscillation and even better achieving perfect EM shielding effect in ENZ media.This work achieves the tunableε′-negative andε′-near-zero response and more importantly clarifies its regulation mechanism in ceramic-based ternary metacomposites,which opens up the possibility of designing high-performance EM shielding materials based on metacomposites.

Objective:In the realm of Class I pathogens,Burkholderia pseudomallei(BP)stands out for its propensity to induce severe pathogenicity.Investigating the intricate interactions between BP and host cells is imperative for comprehending the dynamics of BP infection and discerning biomarkers indicative of the host cell response process.Methods:mRNA extraction from BP-infected mouse macrophages constituted the initial step of our study.Employing gene expression arrays,the extracted RNA underwent conversion into digital signals.The percentile shift method facilitated data processing,with the identiﬁcation of genes manifesting signiﬁcant differences accomplished through the application of the t-test.Subsequently,a comprehensive analysis involving Gene Ontology enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway was conducted on the differentially expressed genes(DEGs).Leveraging the ESTIMATE algorithm,gene signatures were utilized to compute risk scores for gene expression data.Support vector machine analysis and gene enrichment scores were instrumental in establishing correlations between biomarkers and macrophages,followed by an evaluation of the predictive power of the identiﬁed biomarkers.Results:The functional and pathway associations of the DEGs predominantly centered around G protein-coupled receptors.A noteworthy positive correlation emerged between the blue module,consisting of 416 genes,and the StromaScore.FZD4,identiﬁed through support vector machine analysis among intersecting genes,indicated a robust interaction with macrophages,suggesting its potential as a robust biomarker.FZD4 exhibited commendable predictive efﬁcacy,with BP infection inducing its expression in both macrophages and mouse lung tissue.Western blotting in macrophages conﬁrmed a signiﬁcant upregulation of FZD4 expression from 0.5 to 24 h post-infection.In mouse lung tissue,FZD4 manifested higher expression in the cytoplasm of pulmonary epithelial cells in BP-infected lungs than in the control group.Conclusion:Theseﬁndings underscor

Objective:To explore the mechanisms underlying the proliferative inhibition of Chinese herbal medicine Kang-Ai injection(KAI)in gastric cancer cells.Methods:Gastric cancer cell lines MGC803 and BGC823 were treated by 0,0.3%,1%,3%and 10%KAI for 24,48 and 72 h,respectively.The cell proliferation was evaluated by 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2-H-tetrazolium bromide(MTT)assay.The apoptosis and cell cycle were evaluated by flow cytometry.Interleukin(IL)-6 mRNA and protein expression levels were detected by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)and enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay(ELISA),respectively.The protein expression levels of cyclin A,cyclin E,cyclin B1,cyclin D1,p21,retinoblastoma(RB),protein kinase B(AKT),extracellular regulated protein kinases(ERK),signal transducer and activator of transcription(STAT)1 and STAT3 were detected by Western blot.Results:KAI inhibited the proliferation of MGC803 and BGC823 gastric cancer cells in dose-and time-dependent manner.After treated with KAI for 48 h,the proportion of G,phase was increased,expression level of cyclin D1 and phosphorylation-RB were down-regulated,whereas the expression of p21 was up-regulated(all P<0.01).Furthermore,48-h treatment with KAI decreased the phosphorylation level of STAT3,inhibited the mRNA and protein expressions of IL-6(all P<0.01).IL-6 at dose of 10 ng/mL significantly attenuated the proliferative effect of both 3%and 10%KAI,and recovered KAI-inhibited STAT3 phosphorylation and cyclin D1 expression level(all P<0.01).Conclusion:KAI exerted an anti-proliferative function by inhibiting IL-6/STAT3 signaling pathway followed by the induction of G_(1)phase arrest in gastric cancer cells.

Objective: Few studies have explored the suitability of endometrial thickness (EMT) as a predictor of ectopic pregnancy (EP) in frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles. Our study aimed to investigate the association between EMT and EP and explore the cutoff value of EMT to predict EP.Methods: This retrospective cohort study included women aged 20-45 years undergoing FET between March 2015 and September 2021. The primary outcomes and measured variables were EP and EMT, respectively. The threshold effect of EMT on EP was calculated based on a constructed smooth curve fitting. The patients were divided into two groups based on the threshold for comparison. A subgroup analysis was conducted to examine whether the relationship between EMT and EP remained consistent across the different subgroups. Additionally, a generalized linear model was used to analyze the interactions between the treatment factors and EMT in EP.Results: In total, 27,549 FET cycles were included, with 27,086 intrauterine and 463 ectopic pregnancies. The risk of EP in the EMT ≤8.7 mm group was 3.36 times higher than that in the EMT >8.7 mm group (odds ratio [OR]: 3.36, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 2.57-4.05). Subgroup analysis further indicated that a thin EMT was a risk factor for EP, independent of other risks. We also noted that diminished ovarian reserve, tubal factor infertility, transfer of two embryos, or transfer of cleavage-stage embryos may further enhance the risk of EP in patients with thin endometrium.Conclusions: Thin endometrium was associated with an increased risk of EP. Patients with EMT less than 8.7 mm need close medical observation and management after embryo transfer. In addition, diminished ovarian reserve, tubal factor infertility, transfer of two embryos, or transfer of cleavage-stage embryos may significantly enhance the effect of a thin endometrium on the risk of EP.
