Efficient extraction of electrode components from recycled lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)and their highvalue applications are critical for the sustainable and ecofriendly utilization of *** work demonstrates a novel approach to stripping graphite anodes embedded with Li^(+)from spent LIBs directly in anhydrous ethanol which can be utilized as high efficiency cathodes for aluminum-ion batteries(AIBs).Recycled graphite(RG)with foam morphology and crystal structure defects was obtained under the action of ultrasonic peeling and gas generation reaction between residual lithium-graphite interlayer compound and *** inherent open structure of RG facilitates the intercalation/deintercalation of chloralum anions(AlCl_(4)^(-))and enhances its AIB cathode *** electrochemical measurements revea that the RG cathode has a specific capacity of 123 m Ah·g^(-1)at a current of 5 A·g^(-1),which is 1.55 times higher than tha of unprocessed natural graphite and 1.25 times higher than that of commercial artificial ***,the RG cathode demonstrated remarkable stability,retaining its high particular capacity of 138.15 mAh·g^(-1)even through2000 times at 10 A·g^(-1)in a low-cost electrolyte consisting of an ionic liquid/urea/AlCl_(3)*** work offers a novel approach to reusing of graphite anode waste materials from LIBs.

BACKGROUND Colorectal polyps(CPs)are frequently occurring abnormal growths in the colorectum,and are a primary precursor of colorectal cancer(CRC).The triglyceride-glucose(TyG)index is a novel marker that assesses metabolic health and insulin resistance,and has been linked to gastrointestinal *** To investigate the potential association between the TyG index and CPs,as the relation between them has not been *** A total of 2537 persons undergoing a routine health physical examination and colonoscopy at The First People's Hospital of Kunshan,jiangsu Province,China,between January 2020 and December 2022 were included in this retrospective cross-sectional *** excluding individuals who did not meet the eligibility criteria,descriptive statistics were used to compare characteristics between patients with and without *** regression analyses were conducted to determine the associations between the TyG index and the prevalence of *** TyG index was calculated using the following formula:Ln[triglyceride(mg/dL)×glucose(mg/dL)/2].The presence and types of CPs was determined based on data from colonoscopy reports and pathology *** A nonlinear relation between the TyG index and the prevalence of CPs was identified,and exhibited a curvilinear pattern with a cut-off point of 2.31.A significant association was observed before the turning point,with an odds ratio(95% confidence interval)of 1.70(1.40,2.06),P<***,the association between the TyG index and CPs was not significant after the cut-off point,with an odds ratio(95% confidence interval)of 0.57(0.27,1.23),P=*** Our study revealed a curvilinear association between the TyG index and CPs in Chinese individuals,suggesting its potential utility in developing colonoscopy screening strategies for preventing CRC.

Sporadic or late-onset Alzheimer’s disease(LOAD)accounts for more than 95%of Alzheimer’s disease(AD)cases without any family *** genome-wide association studies have identified associated risk genes and loci for LOAD,numerous studies suggest that many adverse environmental factors,such as social isolation,are associated with an increased risk of ***,the underlying mechanisms of social isolation in AD progression remain *** the current study,we found that 7 days of social isolation could trigger pattern separation impairments and presynaptic abnormalities of the mossy fibre-CA3 circuit in AD *** also revealed that social isolation disrupted histone acetylation and resulted in the downregulation of 2 dentate gyrus(DG)-enriched miRNAs,which simultaneously target reticulon 3(RTN3),an endoplasmic reticulum protein that aggregates in presynaptic regions to disturb the formation of functional mossy fibre boutons(MFBs)by recruiting multiple mitochondrial and vesicle-related ***,the aggregation of RTN3 also recruits the PP2A B subunits to suppress PP2A activity and induce tau hyperphosphorylation,which,in turn,further elevates RTN3 and forms a vicious ***,using an artificial intelligence-assisted molecular docking approach,we determined that senktide,a selective agonist of neurokinin3 receptors(NK3R),could reduce the binding of RTN3 with its ***,application of senktide in vivo effectively restored DG circuit disorders in socially isolated AD *** together,our findings not only demonstrate the epigenetic regulatory mechanism underlying mossy fibre synaptic disorders orchestrated by social isolation and tau pathology but also reveal a novel potential therapeutic strategy for AD.

Endodontic diseases are a kind of chronic infectious oral disease. Common endodontic treatment concepts are based on the removal of inflamed or necrotic pulp tissue and the replacement by gutta-percha. However, it is very essential for endodontic treatment to debride the root canal system and prevent the root canal system from bacterial reinfection after root canal therapy(RCT). Recent research, encompassing bacterial etiology and advanced imaging techniques, contributes to our understanding of the root canal system’s anatomy intricacies and the technique sensitivity of RCT. Success in RCT hinges on factors like patients, infection severity, root canal anatomy, and treatment techniques. Therefore, improving disease management is a key issue to combat endodontic diseases and cure periapical lesions. The clinical difficulty assessment system of RCT is established based on patient conditions, tooth conditions, root canal configuration, and root canal needing retreatment, and emphasizes pre-treatment risk assessment for optimal outcomes. The findings suggest that the presence of risk factors may correlate with the challenge of achieving the high standard required for RCT. These insights contribute not only to improve education but also aid practitioners in treatment planning and referral decision-making within the field of endodontics.

核仁和线粒体在维持细胞平衡发挥重要作用,研究其生理过程有助于深入了解生物学功能.本文采用一种红色荧光的芘罗丹明荧光探针在不同条件下靶向标记细胞线粒体和核仁.通过激光共聚焦成像和荧光寿命成像技术分析HeLa细胞在光照和药物刺激下细胞凋亡的形态变化,并利用相图定量分析了线粒体与核仁的微环境变化,确定在稳态HeLa细胞中探针标记到的线粒体的平均荧光寿命约为3.65 ns,线粒体黏度约为66×10^(-3)Pa·s.在激光光照后,探针标记到HeLa细胞线粒体的荧光寿命降至3.61 ns,对应线粒体黏度增至约131×10^(-3)Pa·s;使用紫杉醇和秋水仙碱诱导细胞凋亡,观察到探针标记于HeLa细胞核仁的荧光寿命先增加后降低,反映了在HeLa细胞凋亡过程中核仁微环境的变化,证明HeLa细胞在非稳态情况下核仁和线粒体的功能变化,为线粒体和核仁功能障碍相关疾病研究提供了新的研究方法.

Quasi-one-dimensional(1D)antiferromagnets are known to display intriguing phenomena especially when there is a spin gap in their spin-excitation *** we demonstrate that a spin gap exists in the quasi-1D Heisenberg antiferromagnet CoTi2O5 with highly ordered Co2+/Ti4+occupation,in which the Co2+ions with S=3/2 form a 1D spin chain along the ***2O5 undergoes an antiferromagnetic transition at TN~24 K and exhibits obvious anisotropic magnetic susceptibility even in the paramagnetic *** a gapless magnetic ground state is usually expected in a quasi-1D Heisenberg antiferromagnet with half-integer spins,by analyzing the specific heat,the thermal conductivity,and the spin-lattice relaxation rate(1/T1)as a function of temperature,we found that a spin gap is opened in the spin-excitation spectrum of CoTi2O5 around TN,manifested by the rapid decrease of magnetic specific heat to zero,the double-peak characteristic in thermal conductivity,and the exponential decay of 1/T1 below *** the magnetic measurements and the first-principles calculations results indicate that there is spin-orbit coupling in CoTi2O5,which induces the magnetic anisotropy in CoTi2O5,and then opens the spin gap at low temperature.

Background Developing an effective vaccine against human immunodeficiency virus type 1 （HIV-1） remains a grand challenge after more than two decades of intensive effort. It is partially due to the lack of suitable animal models for screening and prioritizing vaccine candidates. In this study, we aim to develop a mice model to test HIV-1 vaccine efficacy. Methods We constructed a recombinant vaccinia expressing firefly luciferase and HIV-1 Gag fusion protein based on Tiantan strain, an attenuated but replication-competent poxvirus （rTTV-lucgag）. By quantifying the luciferase activity as its read out, we defined the biodistribution of Tiantan strain poxvirus in mice inoculated intraperitoneally and attempted to apply this model to evaluate the HIV-1 vaccine efficacy. Results Our data demonstrated that the rTTV-lucgag was able to express high level of luciferase （〈106 relative luciferase units （RLU）/mg protein） and HIV-1 Gag （〉3 folds increase comparing to the control）. After intraperitoneal inoculation, this virus had dominant replication in the ovary, uterus, and cervix of mice and the luciferase activities in those organs are significantly correlated with viral titers （r^2=0.71, P 〈0.01）. Pre-immunization with an HIV gag DNA vaccine reduced the luciferase activity in ovary from （6006±3141） RLU/mg protein in control group to （1538±463） RLU/mg protein in vaccine group （P=0.1969）. Conclusions The luciferase activity in ovary could represent viral replication in vivo; this rTTV-lucgag/mice model may be suitable to assess the protective efficacy of cytotoxic T-cell responses to HIV Gag with less tedious work and high through-put.

Bi_(2)WO_(6)/MIL-101光催化降解水中四环素的性能与机理

利用水热法制备Bi_(2)WO_(6)/MIL-101(BWO/MIL-101)异质结光催化剂,并研究其在可见光下降解水中四环素(tetracycline;TC)的性能及机理.结果表明,Bi_(2)WO_(6)纳米片在MIL-101载体表面致密生长形成BWO/MIL-101异质结材料后可见光催化TC降解的性能明显提高.其中,结构优化的BWO/MIL-101-40在60min内的TC降解效率为85.9%,其反应速率常数是Bi_(2)WO_(6)的1.4倍,是MIL-101的3.1倍,且BWO/MIL-101在中性及碱性环境中表现出稳定且良好的光催化性能.能带结构分析表明,Bi_(2)WO_(6)/MIL-101构成II型异质结,有效拓宽了可见光响应范围,加快光生载流子的迁移速率,并抑制e−和h^(+)的复合.通过自由基猝灭实验和电子顺磁共振(EPR)测试发现,在光催化体系中超氧自由基(·O_(2)^(-))和空穴(h^(+))是反应的主要活性物种.
