AIM： To investigate the effect of two-channel gastric electrical stimulation （GES） with trains of pulses on gastric emptying and slow ***： Seven dogs implanted with four pairs of electrodes and equipped with a duodenal cannula were involved in this study. Two experiments were *** first experiment included a series of sessions in the fasting state with trains of short or long pulses, each lasted 10 min. A 5-min recording without pacing was made between two sessions. The second experiment was performed in three sessions （control, single-channel GES, and two-channel GES）. The stimulus was applied via the 1st pair of electrodes for single-channel GES （GES via one pair of electrodes located at 14 cm above the pylorus）, and simultaneously via the 1st and 3rd channels for two-channel GES （GES via two pairs of electrodes located at 6 and 14 cm above the pylorus）, Gastric liquid emptying was collected every 15 min via the cannula for 90 ***： GES with trains of pulses at a pulse width of 4 ms or higher was able to entrain gastric slow waves. Two-channel GES was about 50% more efficient than single-channel GES in entraining gastric slow waves. Two-channel but not single-channel GES with trains of pulses was capable of accelerating gastric emptying in healthy dogs. Compared with the control session, two-channel GES significantly increased gastric emptying of liquids at 15 rain （79.0% ± 6.4% vs 61.3% ± 6.1%, P 〈 0.01）, 30 min （83.2% ± 6.3 % vs 68.2% ± 6.9%, P 〈 0.01）, 60 min （86.9% ± 5.5 % vs 74.1% ± 5.9%, P 〈 0.01）, and 90 rain （91.0% ± 3.4% vs 76.5% ± 5.9%, P 〈 0.01）.CONCLUSION： Two-channel GES with trains of pulses accelerates gastric emptying in healthy dogs and may have a therapeutic potential for the treatment of gastric motility disorders.

A new kind of thiazole-containing unsymmetrical ortho-diamine monomer, 2-amino-5-[4-（2＇- aminophenoxy）phenyl]-thiazole （o-AAPPT）, was synthesized by four steps, using 4-hydroxyacetophe- none as starting material. A novel thiazole-containing polyimide was prepared from the resulting diamine o-AAPPT with BTDA via a conventional one-step method. The resulting polyimide exhibits excellent solubility, film-forming capability and high thermal and thermo-oxidative stability.

The 3D scanning of time-varying objects based on multi-view geometry has been a hot topic in computer vision in recent *** paper presents an active approach to acquiring 3D shapes of moving foot from multi-view video sequences based on the explicit marker points woven in *** reference 3D model of foot is firstly recovered from the starting frames in the multi-view video clips,and then the markers in each view are traced as a whole based on a continuous motion vector field built from the reference 3D *** missing vertices in the candidate 3D model caused by self-occlusion,non-uniform illumination and random noises are reliably estimated and reconstructed in 3D space by minimizing the changes of differential features in 3D geometry of the reference *** experimental results show that our method can robustly recover the 3D model of foot in complex background even if there is a relatively large movement between the adjacent frames,with an acceptable accuracy of the resulting 3D model.

Spatial clustering is widely used in many fields such as WSN (Wireless Sensor Networks), web clustering, remote sensing and so on for discovery groups and to identify interesting distributions in the underlying database. By discussing the relationships between the optimal clustering and the initial seeds, a clustering validity index and the principle of seeking initial seeds were proposed, and on this principle we recommend an initial seed-seeking strategy: SSPG (Single-Shortest-Path Graph). With SSPG strategy used in clustering algorithms, we find that the result of clustering is optimized with more probability. At the end of the paper, according to the combinational theory of optimization, a method is proposed to obtain optimal reference k value of cluster number, and is proven to be efficient.

Objective To investigate the mechanistic basis for the anti-proliferation and anti-invasion effect of tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-induced ligand(TRAIL)and celastrol combination treatment(TCCT)in glioblastoma *** Cell counting kit-8 was used to detect the effects of different concentrations of celastrol(0-16µmol/L)and TRAIL(0-500 ng/mL)on the cell viability of glioblastoma cells.U87 cells were randomly divided into 4 groups,namely control,TRAIL(TRAIL 100 ng/mL),Cel(celastrol 0.5µmol/L)and TCCT(TRAIL 100 ng/mL+celastrol 0.5µmol/L).Cell proliferation,migration,and invasion were detected by colony formation,wound healing,and Transwell assays,*** reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting were performed to assess the levels of epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)markers(zona occludens,N-cadherin,vimentin,zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox,Slug,and β-catenin).Wnt pathway was activated by lithium chloride(LiCl,20 mol/L)and the mechanism for action of TCCT was *** Celastrol and TRAIL synergistically inhibited the proliferation,migration,invasion,and EMT of U87 cells(P<0.01).TCCT up-regulated the expression of GSK-3β and down-regulated the expression of β-catenin and its associated proteins(P<0.05 or P<0.01),including c-Myc,Cyclin-D1,and matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-*** addition,LiCl,an activator of the Wnt signaling pathway,restored the inhibitory effects of TCCT on the expression of β-catenin and its downstream genes,as well as the migration and invasion of glioblastoma cells(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusions Celastrol and TRAIL can synergistically suppress glioblastoma cell migration,invasion,and EMT,potentially through inhibition of Wnt/β-catenin *** underlies a novel mechanism of action for TCCT as an effective therapy for glioblastoma.
