Pro. HUA had practiced traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture for about 50 years, borne excellent medical skills and was then highly respected by his colleagues and patients. In his large amount of practice, he combined syndrome differentiation in Chinese medicine and disease differentiation in western medicine in order to work hard on acupuncture indications and some stubborn diseases. With the time going on and medical cases accumulating, some unique treatment styles had been formed, such as Jiaji (paravertebral) acupuncture, sacroiliac acupuncture and sacral acupuncture. They are briefly introduced as follows.

A water-stable bimetallic Fe/Zrmetal-organic framework[UiO-66(Fe/Zr)]for exceptional decontamination of arsenic in water was fabricated through a facile one-step *** batch adsorption experiments revealed the excellent performances with ultrafast adsorption kinetics due to the synergistic effects of two functional centers and large surface area(498.33 m^(2)/g).The absorption capacity of UiO-66(Fe/Zr)for arsenate[As(V)]and arsenite[As(III)]reached as high as 204.1 mg/g and 101.7 mg/g,*** model was suitable to describe the adsorption behaviors of arsenic on UiO-66(Fe/Zr).The fast kinetics(adsorption equilibrium in 30min,10mg/L As)and pseudo-second-ordermodel implied the strong chemisorption between arsenic ions and UiO-66(Fe/Zr),which was further confirmed by DFT theoretical *** results of FT-IR,XPS analysis and TCLP test demonstrated that arsenic was immobilized on the surface of UiO-66(Fe/Zr)through Fe/Zr-O-As bonds,and the leaching rates of the adsorbed As(III)and As(V)from the spent adsorbent were only 5.6%and 1.4%,***-66(Fe/Zr)can be regenerated for five cycles without obvious removal efficiency *** original arsenic(1.0mg/L)in lake and tapwater was effectively removed in 2.0 hr[99.0%of As(III)and 99.8%of As(V)].The bimetallic UiO-66(Fe/Zr)has great potentials in water deep purification of arsenic with fast kinetics and high capacity.

Fluid-attenuated inversion recovery （FLAIR） vascular hyperintensity （FVH） is used to assess leptomeningeal collateral circulation, but clinical outcomes of patients with FVH can be very different. The aim of the present study was to assess a FVH score and explore its relationship with clinical outcomes. Patients with acute ischemic stroke due to middle cerebral artery M1 occlusion underwent magnetic resonance imaging and were followed up at 10 days （National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale） and 90 days （modified Rankin Scale） to determine short-term clinical outcomes. Effective collateral circulation indirectly improved recovery of neurological function and short-term clinical outcome by extending the size of the pial penumbra and reducing infarct lesions. FVH score showed no correlation with 90-day functional clinical outcome and was not sufficient as an independent predictor of short-term clinical outcome.

Using the static opaque chamber method, the soil respiration rates （SR） were measured through the continuous experiments in situ in semiarid Stipa grandis steppe in Xilin River Basin of Inner Mongolia, China from June 2001 to June 2003, in parallel, the difference between the SR and the ecosystem respiration rates （TER） were compared. The results indicated that the seasonal variations of the SR and TER were obvious with higher emissions in growing season and a relatively low efflux level in non-growing season, furthermore, the negative effluxes were found in the observation site in winter; the annual CO2 efflux of total ecosystem ranged from 160.5 gC/（m^2·a） to 162.8 gC/（m^2·a） and that of soil ranged from 118.7 gC/（m^2·a） to 152.3 gC/（m^2·a）. The annual SR accounted for about 74.0% to 93.5% of the annual TER, but the results of Analysis of Variance （ANOVA） indicated that the difference between the annual average TER and SR did not reach the significance level of 0.05. The TER was under similar environmental controls as SR, in growing seasons of drought years, the variations of soil moisture at 0-10 cm and 10-20 cm depth could account for 79,1% 95.6% of the changes of the SR and TER, but in non-growing season, more than 75% of the variations of the SR and TER could be explained by the changes of the ground temperature of soil surface layers.

Objective To observe the apoptosis of osteosarcoma MG-63 cells induced by As2O3 and to explore its possible mechanisms. Methods The flowcytometric analysis and transmission electronmicroscope were performed to investigate the inducing apoptosis and inhibitative of As2O3 on osteosarcoma MG-63 cells. In order to study mechanism of apoptosis in MG-63 cells treated with As2 O3, microarray was performed. The down-regulated gene was confirmed by RT-PCR, Northern-blotting. Results After treated with As2O3, hypodiploid peak before G0/G1 phase was observed in MG-63 cells through FCM analysis. Loss of microvilli, condensation and fragmentation of nuclear chromatin, condensation of cytoplasmic organelles, dilatation of the endoplasmic reticulum shrinkage of cells and alterations in cell membranes and apoptosis bodies which were observed in MG-63 cells treated with As2O3 by transmission electronmicroscope. The results of microarray show that As2 O3 induced MG-63 cell apoptosis involves down-regulation of IEX-1 and the down-regulated gene is confirmed by RT-PCR and *** The results show that As2 O3 selectively inhibits growth of the solid tumor MG-63 cells by triggering apoptosis and indicates MG-63 induced by As2O3 cell apoptosis may through the IEX-1 pathway.

Plasmonicnanoparticles(PNPs)with stable nanogaps are important to achieve strong,uniform and quantitative gap-enhanced Raman scattering(GERS)*** PNPs with plasmonic circular dichroism(PCD)responses have been discovered to be suitable for applications in enantiomeric recognition,cancer therapy and activation of immune ***,two-thiolsmodulated growth was demonstrated to result in the acquisition of PNPs with synergistically enhanced GERS and PCD signals.4-Aminothiophenol(4-ATP)and cysteine(Cys)played the role of Raman reporter and chiral stimulus,*** a fixed 4-ATP concentration,the GERS signal of PNPs was significantly enhanced with the increase of the concentration of ***,at a fixed concentration of Cys,an increase in PCD response was observed by elevating the concentration of *** aforementioned molecules acted as morphology controllers,leading to the formation of helical *** is suggested that the giant GERS and PCD response were contributed by the‘‘hot spots''within the PNPs and more perfect helical *** research pointed out a novel synthetic guideline to obtain PNPs with multiple functionalities by incorporating multi-ligands into the growth stages.
