Genome-wide development of interspecific microsatellite markers for Saccharum officinarum and Saccharum spontaneum

Sugarcane has a large,complex,polyploid genome that has hindered the progress of genomic research and molecular marker-assisted *** user-friendly SSR markers have attracted considerable attention owing to their ideal genetic ***,these markers were not characterized and developed at the genome-wide scale due to the previously lacking high-quality chromosome-level assembled sugarcane *** this present study,744305and 361638 candidate SSRs were identified from the genomes of *** and ***,*** verified the reliability of the predicted SSRs by using 1200 interspecific SSR primer pairs to detect polymorphisms among 11 representative accessions of Saccharum,including ***,***,***,and modern sugarcane *** results showed that 660 SSR markers displayed interspecific polymorphisms among these ***,100 SSRs were randomly selected to detect the genetic diversity for 39 representative Saccharum accessions.A total of 320 alleles were generated using 100 polymorphic primers,with each marker ranging from two to seven *** genetic diversity analysis revealed that these accessions were distributed in four main groups,including group I(14 *** accessions),group II(two *** accessions),group III(18 modern sugarcane hybrid accessions),and group IV(five *** accessions).Experimental verification supported the reliability of the SSR markers based on genome-wide *** development of a large number of SSR markers based on wet experiments is valuable for genetic studies,including genetic linkage maps,comparative genome analysis,genome-wide association studies,and marker-assisted selection in Saccharum.

Boson sampling has been theoretically proposed and experimentally demonstrated to show quantum computational ***,it still lacks the deep understanding of the practical applications of boson *** we propose that boson sampling can be used to efficiently simulate the work distribution of multiple identical *** link the work distribution to boson sampling and numerically calculate the transition amplitude matrix between the single-boson eigenstates in a one-dimensional quantum piston system,and then map the matrix to a linear optical network of boson *** work distribution can be efficiently simulated by the output probabilities of boson sampling using the method of the grouped probability *** scheme requires at most a polynomial number of the samples and the optical *** work opens up a new path towards the calculation of complex quantum work distribution using only photons and linear optics.

Mechanical behaviors of warm and ice-rich frozen soil stabilized with sulphoaluminate cement

The warm and ice-rich frozen soil is characterized by high unfrozen water content, low shear strength and large compressibility, which is unreliable to meet the stability requirements of engineering infrastructures and foundations in permafrost regions. In this study, a novel approach for stabilizing the warm and ice-rich frozen soil with sulphoaluminate cement was proposed based on chemical stabilization. The mechanical behaviors of the stabilized soil, such as strength and stress-strain relationship, were investigated through a series of triaxial compression tests conducted at -1.0℃, and the mechanism of strength variations of the stabilized soil was also explained based on scanning electron microscope test. The investigations indicated that the strength of stabilized soil to resist failure has been improved, and the linear Mohr-Coulomb criteria can accurately reflect the shear strength of stabilized soil under various applied confining pressure. The increase in both curing age and cement mixing ratio were favorable to the growth of cohesion and internal friction angle. More importantly, the strength improvement mechanism of the stabilized soil is attributed to the formation of structural skeleton and the generation of cementitious hydration products within itself. Therefore, the investigations conducted in this study provide valuable references for chemical stabilization of warm and ice-rich frozen ground, thereby providing a basis for in-situ ground improvement for reinforcing warm and ice-rich permafrost foundations by soil-cement column installation.

Visible Light Indoor Positioning System Based on Pisarenko Harmonic Decomposition and Neural Network

Visible-light indoor positioning is a new generation of positioning technology that can be integrated into smart lighting and optical communications. The current received signal strength(RSS)-based visible-light positioning systems struggle to overcome the interferences of background and indoor-reflected noise. Meanwhile, when ensuring the lighting, it is impossible to use the superposition of each light source to accurately distinguish light source information; furthermore, it is difficult to achieve accurate positioning in complex indoor environments. This study proposes an indoor positioning method based on a combination of power spectral density detection and a neural network. The system integrates the mechanism for visible-light radiation detection with RSS theory, to build a back propagation neural network model fitting for multiple reflection channels. Different frequency signals are loaded to different light sources at the beacon end, and the characteristic frequency and power vectors are obtained at the location end using the Pisarenko harmonic decomposition method. Then, a complete fingerprint database is established to train the neural network model and conduct location tests. Finally, the location effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified via actual positioning experiments. The simulation results show that, when four groups of sinusoidal waves with different frequencies are superimposed with white noise, the maximum frequency error is 0.104 Hz and the maximum power error is 0.0362 W. For the measured positioning stage, a 0.8 m × 0.8 m × 0.8 m solid wood stereoscopic positioning model is constructed, and the average error is 4.28 cm. This study provides an effective method for separating multi-source signal energies, overcoming background noise, and improving indoor visible-light positioning accuracies.

Deep learning to estimate ocean subsurface salinity structure in the Indian Ocean using satellite observations

Accurately estimating the ocean subsurface salinity structure(OSSS)is crucial for understanding ocean dynamics and predicting climate *** present a convolutional neural network(CNN)model to estimate the OSSS in the Indian Ocean using satellite data and Argo *** evaluated the performance of the CNN model in terms of its vertical and spatial distribution,as well as seasonal variation of OSSS *** demonstrate that the CNN model accurately estimates the most significant salinity features in the Indian Ocean using sea surface data with no significant differences from Argo-derived ***,the estimation accuracy of the CNN model varies with depth,with the most challenging depth being approximately 70 m,corresponding to the halocline *** of the CNN model’s accuracy in estimating OSSS in the Indian Ocean are also conducted by comparing Argo observations and CNN model estimations along two selected sections and four selected *** results show that the CNN model effectively captures the seasonal variability of salinity,demonstrating its high performance in salinity estimation using sea surface *** analysis reveals that sea surface salinity has the strongest correlation with OSSS in shallow layers,while sea surface height anomaly plays a more significant role in deeper *** preliminary results provide valuable insights into the feasibility of estimating OSSS using satellite observations and have implications for studying upper ocean dynamics using machine learning techniques.
