Diagnostic accuracy of ePOS score in predicting DNR labeling after ICU admission:A prospective observational study(ePOS-DNR)

Background Resuscitation can sometimes be futile and making a do-not-resuscitate(DNR)decision is in the best interest of the *** electronic poor outcome screening(ePOS)score was developed to predict 6-month poor outcomes of critically ill *** explored the diagnostic accuracy of the ePOS score in predicting DNR decisions in the intensive care unit(ICU).Methods This study was conducted at the ICU of a tertiary referral hospital in Saudi Arabia between March and May ***,we calculated ePOS scores for all eligible consecutive admissions after 48 h in the ICU and recorded the DNR *** ability of the score to predict DNR was explored using logistic ***'s ideal cut-off value was calculated using the DeLong method,and different diagnostic accuracy measures were generated with corresponding 95%confidence intervals(CIs).Results We enrolled 857 patients,125 received a DNR order and 732 did *** average ePOS score of DNR and non-DNR patients was 28.2±10.7 and 15.2±9.7,*** score,as a predictor of DNR order,had an area under receiver operator characteristic(AUROC)curve of 81.8%(95%CI:79.0 to 84.3,P17 was associated with a sensitivity of 87.2(95%CI:80.0 to 92.5,P17 may help guide clinical decisions to withhold or commence resuscitative measures.

The discharge of industrial effluent containing heavy metal ions would cause water pollution if such effluent is not properly *** this work,the performance of emerging nanofiltration(NF)like-forward osmosis(FO)membrane was evaluated for its efficiency to remove copper ion from ***,copper ion is removed from aq.eous solution via adsorption and/or ion-exchange *** engineered osmosis method as proposed in this work considered four commercial NF membranes(i.e.,NF90,DK,NDX and PFO)where their separation performances were accessed using synthetic water sample containing 100 mg·L-1 copper ion under FO and pressure retarded osmosis(PRO)*** findings indicated that all membranes could achieve almost complete removal of copper regardless of membrane orientation without applying external driving *** high removal rates were in good agreement with the outcomes of the membranes tested under pressuredriven mode at 1 *** use of appropriate salts as draw solutes enabled the NF membranes to be employed in engineered osmosis process,achieving a relatively low reverse solute *** findings showed that the best performing membrane is PFO membrane in which it achieved N 99.4%copper rejection with very minimum reverse solute flux of<1 g·m-2·h-1.

Distribution Network Reactive Power Optimization Based on Ant Colony Optimization and Differential Evolution Algorithm

Due to the inherent complexity, traditional ant colony optimization （ACO） algorithm is inadeq.ate and insufficient to the reactive power optimization for distribution network. Therefore, firstly the ACO algorithm is improved in two aspects： pheromone mutation and re-initialization strategy. Then the thought of differential evolution （DE） algorithm is proposed to be merged into ACO, and by producing new individuals with random deviation disturbance of DE, pheromone q.antity left by ants is disturbed appropriately, to search the optimal path, by which the ability of search having been improved. The proposed algorithm is tested on IEEE30-hus system and actual distribution network, and the reactive power optimization results are calculated to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the improved algorithm.

The Modulation Effect of Triglyceride Type and Phospholipids Type ω-3 LCPUFA on Mice Gut Microbiota

The evaluation from prospective cohort studies on the dietary ω-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acid (LCPUFA) supplementation and nutritional value is consistent. However, the effect of different types of ω-3 long-chain PUFA (ω-3 LCPUFA) on microbiota in intestine is inconsistent. In this study, the mice were divided into three groups (N, PL, FO), with ain-93M (N), ain-93M + Phospholipids type ω-3 LCPUFA (PL) and ain-93M + triglyceride type ω-3 LCPUFA (FO), respectively. Denaturing Gradient Gel Electrophoresis (DGGE) was used to detect the structure of intestinal microbiota. The data showed that the composition of gut microbiota was changed by treating with the two types of ω-3 LCPUFA. The results revealed that gut microbiota’ enrichment in FO group was decreased while in PL group was increased. The data also showed that the histological morphology of the small intestine in treated mice was improved especially in group PL, which was much more significant and suggested that Phospholipids type ω-3 LCPUFA is beneficial to intestinal health.

Accurate estimate of tree biomass is essential for forest *** recent years,several climate-sensitive allometric biomass models with diameter at breast height(D)as a predictor have been proposed for various tree species and climate zones to estimate tree aboveground biomass(AGB).But the allometric models only account for the potential effects of climate on tree biomass and do not simultaneously explain the influence of climate on D *** this study,based on the AGB data from 256 destructively sampled trees of three larch species randomly distributed across the five secondary climate zones in northeastern and northern China,we first developed a climate-sensitive AGB base model and a climate-sensitive D growth base model using a nonlinear least sq.are regression separately.A compatible simultaneous model system was then developed with the climate-sensitive AGB and D growth models using a nonlinear seemingly unrelated *** potential effects of several temperature and precipitation variables on AGB and D growth were *** fitting results of climatic sensitive base models were compared against those of their compatible simultaneous model *** was found that a decreased isothermality([mean of monthly(maximum temperatureminimum temperature)]/(Maximum temperature of the warmest month-Minimum temperature of the coldest month))and total growing season precipitation,and increased annual precipitation significantly increased the values of AGB;an increase of temperature seasonality(a standard deviation of the mean monthly temperature)and precipitation seasonality(a standard deviation of the mean monthly precipitation)could lead to the increase of *** differences of the model fitting results between the compatible simultaneous system with the consideration of climate effects on both AGB and D growth and its corresponding climate-sensitive AGB and D growth base models were very small and insignificant(p>0.05).Compared to the base models,the in
