Study of K*（892）0 and ?（1020） meson production in proton–proton and Pb–Pb collisions at ■=2.76 TeV

In this paper, we describe a study of charged particle yield as a function of pTfor K*（892）0and ?（1020） mesons in proton–proton（pp） and Pb–Pb collisions at ■=?2.76 Te V in the central rapidity region of |y|ality. For data simulation, we used the EPOS-LHC and EPOS-1.99 models. To check the validity of these models' simulations, we compared the data obtained from these Monte Carlo simulation programs with aliCE experimental data for ■=?2.76 Te V. It was concluded that the models' predictions for the ?-meson in pp and for the most central Pb-Pb collisions disagreed with the aliCE data, and that the difference increased with pT. This may be connected with the essential role of collective parton behaviors which could not have been taken into account by the models. For K*0mesons, both programs gave almost the same predictions,and with pTin the interval pT?>?3 Ge V c-1, the predictions were very close to the experimental data. Both models gave higher predictions for the soft pTinterval and lower predictions for the hard interactions. The values of the RAAdistributions were lower than unity and both models were very close to the aliCE data. It is very interesting that the models were not able to describe the pTdistributions, but they gave good predictions for their ratios. This may possibly be due to parton collective behaviors. We observed some additional suppression of K*0at low values of pT with respect to f-mesons, which may be related to the role of the masses of the particles in soft interactions. The rising trend for RAAin the region from pT=?10 Ge V c-1to 20 Ge V c-1observed by the aliCE experiment was absent for the f-mesons.

To improve the performances of diesel engines and to reduce the pollutants they emit,aluminum oxide nanopar-ticles in varying quantities(50,100,150 ppm)have been added to conventional diesel *** results of such experimental tests have revealed that the addition of nano-Al_(2)O_(3) particles to the diesel fuel reduces its consump-tion by 0.488%,1.02%,and 1.377%,respectively and increases the brake thermal efficiency by 1.4%,2.6%,and 3.8%,*** concentrations of undesired gases decrease accordingly by 1.5%,1.7%,and 2.8%for HC and by 5.88%,11.7%,and 17.6%,respectively,for *** the same percentages of nanoparticles,NO_(x) increases by 2.65,4.36,and 5.37,while the TSP(Total Suspended Particulate)decreases by 22%,34.66%,and 49.7%,*** the same conditions,sulfur dioxide pollutants increase by 4.57%,8.8%and 12.89%,and H_(2)S levels by 4.7%,7.81%and 8.9%,respectively.

Plexiform lesions （PLs）, which are often accompanied by perivascular infiltrates of mononuclear cells, represent the hallmark lesions of pulmonary arteries in humans suffering from severe pulmonary arterial hypertension （PAH）. Endothelial progenitor cells （EPCs） have been recently implicated in the formation of PLs in human patients. PLs rarely develop in rodent animal models of PAH but can develop spontaneously in broiler chickens. The aim of the present study was to confirm the presence of EPCs in the PLs in broilers. The immune mechanisms involved in EPC dysfunction were also evaluated. Lungs were collected from commercial broilers at 1 to 4 weeks of age. The right/total ventricle ratios indicated normal pulmonary arterial pressures for all sampled birds. Immunohistochemistry was per- formed to determine the expressions of EPC markers （CD133 and VEGFR-2） and preangiogenic molecule hepatocyte growth factor （HGF） in the lung samples. An EPC/lymphocyte co-culture system was used to investigate the functional changes of EPCs under the challenge of immune cells. PLs with different cellular composition were detected in the lungs of broilers regardless of age, and they were commonly surrounded by moderate to dense perivascular mono- nuclear cell infiltrates. Immunohistochemical analyses revealed the presence of CD133＊ and VEGFR-2＊ cells in PLs. These structures also exhibited a strong expression of HGF. Lymphocyte co-culture enhanced EPC apoptosis and completely blocked HGF-stimulated EPC survival and in vitro tube formation. Taken together, this work provides evidence for the involvement of EPCs in the development of PLs in broilers. It is suggested that the local immune cell infiltrate might serve as a contributor to EPC dysfunction by inducing EPC death and limiting their response to angi- ogenic stimuli. Broiler chickens may be valuable for investigating reversibility of plexogenic arteriopathy using gene- modified inflammation-resistant EPCs.

A new method based on phononic crystals is presented to detect the concentration of heavy water(D_(2)O)in an H_(2)O-D_(2)O *** have been obtained and analyzed in the concentration range of 0%-10%and 90%-100%D_(2)O.A proposed structure of tungsten scatterers in an aluminum host is *** order to detect the target material,a cavity region is considered as a sound wave resonator in which the target material with different concentrations of D_(2)O is *** changing the concentration of D_(2)O in the H_(2)O-D_(2)O mixture,the resonance frequency undergoes a frequency *** 1%change in D_(2)O concentration in the H_(2)O-D_(2)O mixture causes a frequency change of about 120 *** finite element method is used as the numerical method to calculate and analyze the natural frequencies and transmission spectra of the proposed *** performance evaluation index shows a high q factor up to 1475758 and a high sensitivity up to 13075,which are acceptable values for sensing *** other figures of merit related to the detection performance also indicate high-quality performance of the designed sensor.

The bimodal random crystal field （A） effects are investigated on the phase diagrams of spin-3/2 Ising model by using the effective-field theory with correlations based on two approximations： the general van der Waerden identity and the approximated van der Waerden identity. In our approach, the crystal field is either turned on or turned off randomly for a given probability p or q = 1 -p, respectively. Then the phase diagrams are constructed on the （A,kT/J） and （p,kT/J） planes for given p and A, respectively, when the coordination number is z = 3. Furthermore, the effect of randomization of the crystal field is illustrated on the （△,kT/J） plane for p = 0.5 when z - 3,4, and 6. All these are carried out for both approximations and then the results are compared to point out the differences. In addition to the lines of second-order phase transitions, the model also exhibits first-order phase transitions and the lines of which terminate at the isolated critical points for high p values.

The effects of assuming equal or unequal crystal fields （CF） on the phase diagrams of a mixed spin-1 and spin-5/2 system are investigated in terms of the recursion relations on the Bethe lattice （BL）. The equal CF case was considered for the coordination numbers q = 3,4, and 6, while for q = 3 the unequal CF case was also studied. It was found that for the equal CF case, the model exhibits second-order phase transitions and two compensation temperatures for all q, the reentrant behavior for q = 4 and first-order phase transitions and tricritical point （TCP） for q = 6. In the unequal CF case for q = 3, the system yields first- and second-order phase transitions, TCP＇s, and three compensation temperatures. In addition, the TCP＇s in a very short range are classified as the stable and unstable ones depending on their free energies.
