Understanding the impacts of climate change in agriculture is important to ensure optimal and continuous crop *** agricultural sector plays a significant role in the economy of Upper Midwestern states in the USA,especially that of North Dakota(ND).Spring wheat contributes most of the wheat production in ND,which is a major producer of wheat in the *** study focuses on assessing possible impacts of three climate variables on spring wheat yield in ND by building a regression ***-five years of field data were collected and the trend of average minimum temperature along with average maximum temperature,average precipitation,and spring wheat yield was analyzed using Mann-Kendall *** study area was divided into 9 divisions based on physical *** minimum temperature plays an important role in the region as it impacts the physiological development of the *** trend was noticed for 6 divisions for average minimum temperature and average precipitation during growing *** and Southeast division showed the strongest increasing trend for average minimum temperature and average precipitation,***-central division had the most decreasing trend for average maximum temperature.A significant relationship was established between spring wheat yield and climatic parameters as the p-value is lower than 0.05 level which rejects the null *** regression model was tested for forecasting *** percentage deviation of error for the model is approximately±30%in most of the years.

Colour and moisture content are two most important attributes of the commercial food *** of moisture content is very important to know the storability of the food *** also relates to the process of drying in a fruit or *** drying and shrinkage deteriorates the quality of food *** goal of the experiment was to examine the changes in RGB values of an apple during drying at different *** this study,emphasis was given on how the colour changes when there is a significant change in the moisture content of the *** randomly chosen varieties of apples were sliced to 8 mm thickness and dried in vacuum oven at 60°C,70°C,and 80°*** loss of moisture was recorded for every 30 min interval and corresponding digital images were taken to determine the change in RGB *** images that were captured during the study was analysed in MATLAB image analysis computer *** analysis of moisture content and average colour share with respect to time showed that average colour share value decreases with time at all three *** than 50 per cent of variation in moisture content was explained by average colour *** is a significant linear relationship between moisture content and colour changes in RGB and can be used to predict the moisture content of apple during drying process.

Agricultural production is highly dependent on the climatic variability of the specific regions. Differential climatic and soil conditions bring about changes in yield, quality of crops thus affecting the economy. This study evaluated the impact of variability in different climatic factors keeping the other factors constant on spring wheat production in North Dakota from 2007 to 2011. The spring wheat yield mainly depends on the climatic changes during growing periods April to September. Average maximum air temperature was significantly different from April to September except June from 2007 to 2011. High average minimum and maximum air temperatures during planting time increase yield and planting area for 2010. In 2011, low mean soil temperature, excess rainfall in April caused low yield of spring wheat. The unmitigated climate variability will result in declines in yields. So, adoption of sustainable agriculture practices helps the farmers to develop the different practices for their farms.

We present the angular distribution of the ejected electron for single ionization of He by fast proton impact.A fourbody formalism of the three-Coulomb wave is applied to calculate the triple differential cross sections at several impact energies in the scattering,perpendicular and azimuthal ***,the three-body formalism of three-Coulomb,two-Coulomb and first Born approximation models has also been used to study the many-body effect on electron emission and the validity of the *** the three-Coulomb wave model,the final state wave function incorporates distortion due to the three-body mutual Coulombic *** this formalism,we use an uncorrelated and correlated Born initial state,which consists of a plane wave for the incoming projectile times a two-electron bound state wavefunction of the helium atom representing the 1s2(1S)***,in the case of the three-body formalism,the initial state wavefunction consists of a long-range Coulomb distortion for the incoming projectile and one active electron of the He atom described by the Roothaan–Hartree–Fock *** structure with a single or two peaks with unequal intensity is observed in the angular distributions of the triple differential cross sections for the different kinematic *** addition,the influence of static electron correlations is investigated using different bound state wavefunctions for the ground state of the He *** the four-body formalism,the present computations are very fast by reducing a nine-dimensional integral to a two-dimensional real *** the simplicity and speed of the proposed quadrature,the comparison shows that the obtained results are in reasonable agreement with the experiment and are compatible with those of other theories.

This paper addresses the necessity to make a physical interpretation of a highly complex three-dimensional tip clearance flow field study for high-speed mixed-flow compressor having stage exit static pressure to inlet total pressure ratio of 3.8 with 39,836 rpm rotor *** four different tip configurations namely the constant(l Z 0.016 and 0.019)and variable(l Z 0.011(inlet)-0.019(exit)and 0.019(inlet)-0.022(exit))tip clearances were numerically analysed using available experimental *** numerical investigation reveals that in contrast to the classic jet-wake pattern,two anomalous velocity profiles formed at the impeller exit which results in pressure losses in the vaneless *** the impeller inlet,the tip leakage flow rolls up to discrete tip leakage vortex structure for each tip clearance *** results in the formation of a region of momentum deficit,recirculation zone,which gets weakened as it moves *** tip clearance configuration is observed to profoundly influence the extent and vorticity of the tip leakage *** the splitter blade passage,the tip leakage flow and Coriolis flow interact with passage flow,resulting in the formation of two secondary passage vortices that move downstream along the pressure and suction surface of the splitter *** tip clearance configuration directly influences the impeller exit jetwake pattern by modulating the secondary passage vortices trajectory and ***,off-design analysis for tip clearances l Z 0.016 and l Z 0.019,depict distinctive tip leakage vortex *** operating near the stall conditions(80%of design mass flow rate),l Z 0.019 exhibits bubble shape tip leakage vortex breakdown occurring near the impeller *** result in a substantial change in the tip leakage vortex nature;expansion of the recirculation zone and early weakening of the vorticity in the tip leakage *** is observed that vortex breakdown plays a vital role in characte

Objective:To investigate the hepatoprotective potential of Sida cordata（Malvaceae）（***） in experimental rats to validate its traditional ***:Wister albino rats were divided into 6 groups:Croup 1 served as control;CroupⅡserved as hepatotoxic（CCl4 treated） group; CroupⅢ,Ⅳand V served as（100,200 and 400 mg/kg b.w.） *** leaf extract（SCLE） treated groups;CroupⅥserved as positive control（Silymarin） treated *** marker enzymes serum glutamate oxyloacetic transaminase,serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase,pancreatic enzymatic antioxidants superoxide dismutase（SOD）,lipid peroxidation,catalase（CAT）,reduced glutathione（CSH） were measured and compared along with histopathological ***: Obtained results show that the treatment with SCI.E significantly（P<0.05-<0.001） and dosedependently reduced CCl4 induced elevated serum level of hepatic ***, SCLE significantly（up to P<0.001） reduced the lipid peroxidation in the liver tissue and restored activities of defence antioxidant enzymes CSH,SOD and CAT towards normal levels,which was confirmed by the histopathological ***:The results of this study strongly indicate the protective effect of SCLE against CCl4 induced acute liver toxicity in rats and thereby scientifically support its traditional use.

Annual plants usually flower and set seed once before senescence results in the death of the whole plant （monocarpic senescence）. Leaf senescence also occurs in polycarpic perennials; even in ＂evergreen＂ species individual leaves senesce. In the annual model Arabidopsis thaliana sugars accumulate in the senescent leaves and senescence is accelerated by high sugar availability. Similar to A. thaliana, sugar contents increased with leaf age in the perennial Arabis alpina grown under warm conditions （22℃ day/18 night）. At 5℃, sugar contents in non-senescent leaves were higher than at a warm temperature, but dependent on the accession, either sugars did not accumulate or their contents decreased in old leaves. In A. alpina plants grown in their natural habitat in the Alps, sugar contents declined with leaf age. Growth at a cold temperature slightly delayed senescence in A. alpina. In both warm and cold conditions, an external glucose supply accelerated senescence, but natural variation was found in this response. In conclusion, sugar accumulation under warm conditions could accelerate leaf senescence in A. alpina plants, but genotype-specific responses and interactions with growth temperature are likely to influence senescence under natural conditions.

The operation of a dynamic voltage restorer(DVR)is studied using a three-phase voltage source converter(VSC)-based topology to alleviate voltage anomalies from a polluted supply *** control algorithm used included two *** first is an adaptive Takagi-Sugeno-Kang(TSK)-based adaptive reweighted L1 norm adaption-based normalized least mean square(TSK-ARNA-NLMS)unit,which is proposed for the extraction of fundamental active and reactive components from the non-ideal supply and is further employed to generate the load reference voltage and switching pulse for the *** step size was evaluated using the proposed TSK-ARNA-NLMS controller,and the TSK unit was optimized by integration with the marine predator algorithm(MPA)for a faster convergence *** second,a fractional-order PID controller(FOPID),was employed for AC-and DC-link voltage regulation and was approximated using the Oustaloup *** FOPID()PI Dγμprovides more freedom for tuning the settling time,rise time,and *** FOPID coefficients(Ki,Kd,Kp,γ,andμ)were optimized by employing an advanced ant lion optimization(ALO)meta-heuristics technique to minimize the performance index,namely,the integral time absolute error(ITAE)and assess the accuracy of *** DVR performance was validated under dynamic-and steady-state conditions.

This paper focuses on the response of a high aspect ratio,low speed contra-rotating fan with complex inflow *** total pressure at the inlet is artificially distorted by means of two different sets of screens with different porosities to generate a hub-strong complex distortion and a tip-strong complex *** flow analyses were conducted for the design speed of rotor-1 in combination with off design speeds of rotor-2 both for the design and the peak pressure mass flow *** order to understand the extent of inlet distortion,the distortion sector was rotated circumferentially at intervals of 151 to cover the entire *** measurements of total pressure,static pressure,velocity components and flow angles were carried out at the inlet of the first rotor,between the two rotors and at the exit of the second rotor using three seven hole *** study reveals a few interesting aspects on the effect of complex inflow distortion on the flow behavior of a contra-rotating *** presence of a low porosity screen reduces the magnitude of axial velocity and generates higher spread of distortion near the localized region of placement of the *** hub-strong complex distortion has a greater effect of presence of this low porosity screen in both circumferential and radial *** leads to higher stagnation pressure variation at the *** the other hand,for the tip-strong complex distortion case,the extent of distortion is observed to be higher in the circumferential direction towards the casing rather than *** localized improvement in the flow(in tip-strong inflow distortion)near the tip region improves the performance both in terms of pressure rise and efficiency of stage compared to hub–strong complex distortion.

A multi-barrier antibiotics loaded biodegradable composite bone cement for resolving chronic osteomyelitis has been studied to understand the physico-mechanical properties,drug loading/eluting efficiency,and different merits and demerits prior to clinical *** successful induction of bone infection in 28 rabbits using methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)strains,calcium sulfate/bioactive glass based composite cement was implanted in 12 defects to assess its performance over parenteral therapy with microscopic and radiological examination for 90 *** composite cement revealed acceptable physico-mechanical properties and controlled drug elution ***,the antibiotics concentrations in bone up to 42 days were sufficient to kill MRSA without eliciting adverse drug *** striking feature of platelets aggregation by composite cement could assist bone *** controlled degradation with simultaneous entrapment of composite cement within the osteoid tissues and complete repair of infected cortical defects(holes)in rabbit tibia at 6 weeks indicated the excellent anti-infective and osteoconductive properties of composite ***,the animal study demonstrated the superiority of composite over injectable antibiotic therapy based on infection resolution and bone *** thereby conclude that the composite cement can be effectively applied in the treatment of resistant cases of chronic osteomyelitis.
