Water deficits observed in many regions of the world make it necessary to implement measures intended to improve this situation. Poland is one of the countries with the poorest water resources in Europe due to its natural conditions and human impact. As a result of land reclamation carried out over decades, many elements of its hydrographic system have been changed, and some of them, like lakes, have disappeared altogether. In the days of the socio-economic transformation and more frequent extreme events, what seems worth considering is the renaturalisation of non-existing lakes, an idea presented in this paper on a selected example.

Water temperature is a critical indicator and weathervane of aquatic ***,the vast majority of rivers lack long-term continuous and complete water temperature *** this study,ensemble models by combining NARX(nonlinear autoregressive network with exogenous inputs)and air2stream were used to reconstruct daily river water temperatures for 27 hydrological stations in the Odra River Basin,one of the largest river systems in *** each hydrological station,both the NARX and air2stream models were calibrated and validated,and the better-performed model was selected to reconstruct daily river water temperatures from 1985 to *** results showed that hybrid modeling by combining NARX and air2stream is promising for reconstructing daily river water *** on the reconstructed dataset,annual and seasonal trends of water temperature and characteristics of river heatwaves were *** results indicated that annual river water temperatures showed a consistent warming trend over the past 40 years with an average warming rate of 0.315C/*** river water temperatures indicated that summer warms faster,followed by autumn and spring,and winter river water temperatures showed an insignificant warming *** heatwaves are increased in frequency,duration,and intensity in the Odra River Basin,and 6 out of 27 hydrological stations have river heatwaves categorized as‘severe’and‘extreme’,suggesting that mitigation measures are needed to reduce the impact of climate warming on aquatic ***,results showed that air temperature is the major controller of river heatwaves,and river heatwaves tend to intensify with the warming of air temperatures.

The northern part of Poland is occupied by numerous lakes formed during the last glaciation as a result of the Scandinavian ice sheet. Studies carried out in the lake district areas show progressive reduction of the surface area of the lakes, which leads to their eventual disappearance. The paper discusses the degree of the observed changes and points out main natural and anthropogenic factors influencing changes of lake area in Poland, including climate change, depth of lake basins, biomass growth, deforestation, hydrotechnical works, use of fertilizers and discharge of wastewater.

AIM To evaluate selected intestinal parameters of oxidative stress, and antioxidant capacity in adult celiac disease patients with extraintestinal *** The study involved 85 adult patients divided into the following subgroups:(1) patients with newly diagnosed celiac disease(CD)(n = 7);(2) celiac patients not adhering to a gluten-free diet(GFD)(n = 22);(3) patients with CD on the GFD(n = 31); and(4) patients with functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, serving as controls(n = 25). Celiac patients presented with non-classic symptoms or extraintestinal manifestations. Standard blood tests including serum antioxidant levels(uric acid, bilirubin, and vitamin D), celiac antibody levels, and histopathological status of duodenal biopsy specimens have been determined. The expression of m RNA for tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α), interleukin 1β(IL-1β), interleukin 10(IL-10), superoxide dismutase(SOD), heat-shock protein 70(HSP-70), hypoxia-inducible factor 1(HIF-1α), and BAX in the duodenal mucosa of patients was analyzed by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction. RESULTS The mean plasma uric acid level in patients with active CD(newly diagnosed and nonadherent patients) and treated celiac patients was significantly higher than in controls(260.17 ± 53.65 vs 190.8 ± 22.98, P < 0.001, and 261.7 ± 51.79 vs 190.8 ± 22.98, P < 0.001, respectively). The mean bilirubin concentration in active and treated celiac patients was significantly lower than in controls(8.23 ± 5.04 vs 10.48 ± 4.08, P < 0.05 and 8.06 ± 3.31 vs 10.48 ± 4.08, P < 0.05, respectively). The mean plasma vitamin D level was significantly lower in active celiac patients than in treated celiac patients and controls(19.37 ± 9.03 vs 25.15 ± 11.2, P < 0.05 and 19.37 ± 9.03 vs 29.67 ± 5.12, P < 0.001, respectively). 基于水力走时反演刻画裂隙含水层非均质性

获取含水层水力参数空间非均质分布信息是研究地下水渗流、地下水污染物运移等诸多地下水问题的重要基础。然而,受常规勘察技术所限,含水层的非均质性难以直接刻画,尤其在裂隙介质含水层中,水力参数分布的非均质性更加突出,进一步增加了刻画的难度。针对该问题,本研究首先通过德国哥廷根大学北校区内的Neutra试验场地进行的64次抽水试验,获取了该场地不同深度观测点的水头响应曲线,然后使用解析方法对64组数据进行分析和参数评估,同时采用水力走时的方法对井间水力参数分布进行反演计算,最后将得到的结果分别与经典解析解参数估计和热示踪试验结果进行对比验证。结果表明,解析解参数估计的结果虽然能够在一定程度上展现含水层的垂向非均质性,但是无法刻画井间含水层水力参数的非均质分布;与热示踪试验结果的对比验证了基于水力走时反演的水力层析法在刻画裂隙介质水力参数的空间非均质分布的可靠性。
