This paper presents new weighting functions in grid generation and new discretizing scheme of momentum equations in numerical simulation of river flow. By using the new weighting functions, the curvilinear grid could be concentrated as desired near the assigned points or lines in physical plane. By using the new discretizing scheme, the difficulties caused by movable boundary and dry riverbed can be overcome. As an application, the flow in the Wuhan Section of Yangtze River is simulated. The computational results are in good agreement with the measured results. The new method is applicable to the numerical simulation of 2-d river flow with irregular region and moveable boundary.

The adsorption of hydrogen molecule on the external surface of pure 0120 nanocapsule and endohedrallyH2 @C120 complex has been examined using the density functional theory calculations. Several different bonding configu- rations are considered for the hydrogen molecule approaching the outer surface of the considered nanocages. It has been found that the adsorbed H2 molecule bound weakly to the outer surface of the pure C1~0 nanocapsules in agreement with the recent experimental and theoretical results while, it prefers to be adsorbed rather strongly on the side wall of the endohedrally /-/2@C120 complex. The adsorption of a single layer and bi-layer of two tt2 molecules on the most stable states of the considered H2@C120 complex appears to be feasible, although the molecules of the second layer are weakly bound. Furthermore, it is found that the formation of 100% coverage is favorable therm.d.namically, which corresponds to about 20% by weight storage of 1-12 molecules. Thus, surprisingly, we arrive at the prediction that the C120 nanocapsules can be implemented as a novel material for energy storage.

Alloy selection and alloy design both require consideration of an array of material attributes, including in-service properties, weldability and fabricability. Critical properties of advanced wrought superalloys for gas turbine applications include high temperature strength, thermal stability, oxidation resistance and fatigue resistance. In this paper, the properties of twelve wrought solid-solution-strengthened and six age-hardenable superalloys are compared. Weldability is an important attribute and can be a major limiting factor in the use of certain alloys. Weldability test methods are discussed and the resistance of alloys to solidification cracking and strain-age cracking is compared. The use of weldability testing in the development of m.d.rn wrought su-peralloys is discussed with several examples cited. Finally, alloy selection for gas turbine components is outlined, taking into account both alloy properties and fabricability.

Recent advancements in wireless technology have tested Wireless Balloon Networks (WBNs) as an ideal solution for the provision of internet facilities in deprived and challenging areas. A few high profile companies, such as Google, Space data Inc., etc., have already m.d. news by initiating projects based on high-altitude WBNs in order to provide internet facilities in remote areas. Unfortunately, the technical details have mainly been kept confidential so far. In this paper, we attempt to analyze the percolation properties of large-scale WBNs, considering both homogenous and heterogenous wireless nodes. In order to do so, we m.d.led a WBN as a large-scale random network where the path-loss m.d.ls of homogenous and heterogenous WBNs were reduced to Gdm (Gilbert's disk m.d.l) and RGdm (Random Gilbert's disk m.d.l), respectively. The bounds of the critical density regime were derived for both percolation m.d.ls. Additionally, this paper implemented an experimental test bed for the WBN percolation m.d.l. Consequently, the findings of this research may prove crucial in estimating critical network properties.

Zinc-indium-tin oxide (ZITO) films were grown by pulsed-laser deposition. Three different material compositions were investigated: ZITO-30, ZITO-50 and ZITO-70 in which 30%, 50% and 70%, respectively, of the indium in the In 2 O 3 structure was replaced by substitution with zinc and tin in equal molar proportions (co-substitution): In 2 2x Zn x Sn x O 3 , where x 0.3, 0.5, 0.7. All ZITO films grown at room temperature were amorphous. The first evidence of crystallinity was observed at higher deposition-temperature as the degree of co-substitution was increased. A decrease in mobility and conductivity was also observed as the degree of co-substitution was increased. The highest mobility for ZITO-30 and ZITO-50 was observed at deposition temperatures just prior to crystallization. The effect of deposition temperature on carrier concentration was minor compared to the effect of oxygen partial pressure during deposition.
