The objective of the study was to investigate the regulatory effect of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) on the critical enzymes activity and mRNA expression involved in Homocysteine (Hcy) metabolism. Methods Thirty-six male SD rats aged 3 weeks,weighing 120g±10g were randomly divided into three groups:Olive oil group (Control,n=12) was fed with regular diet plus olive oil (0.5ml);Tuna oil group (TO,n=12) was fed with regular diet plus oil (tuna oil 100mg/kg BW+olive oil=0.5ml).Salmon oil group (SO,n=12) was fed with regular diet plus oil (salmon oil 100mg/kg BW+olive oil=0.5ml). The oil was all oral administered using a stomach tube *** Hey,phospholipids (Pl) n-3 PUFA and enzyme activity and mRNA expression in tissues were determination;The Hepa 1-6 Cell line was treated with 150μM Docosahexaenic Acid for 24h,the mRNA expression levels of the critical enzymes were determined by using Real Time-PCR. Results Compared with control group,Pl total n-3 PUFA and n-3/n-6 PUFA in liver and lung were significantly elevated in TO and SO groups;22:6n-3 (DHA) in liver and lung was significantly increased in TO group;20:5n-3 (EPA)in the two tissues was significantly elevated in SO *** level of plasma Hey was significantly decreased in TO;methionine adenosyl transferase (MAT) activity was significantly increased and MAT mRNA expression in TO were significantly up-regulated;cystathionine-γ-lyase(CSE) mRNA expression in TO was significantly up-regulated when compared with *** cell culture experiment showed that cystathionine-γ-lyase(CSE),cystathionine-β-synthase(CBS)and 5-methyltetrahydrofolate-homocysteine methyltransferase (MTR) mRNA expression were significantly up-regulated (plated,but did not show significant difference when compared with control group. Conclusion Docosahexaenic Acid decreases the concentration of Hcy through regulating the critical enzymes mRNA expression which involved in

The economics and sociodemography of the Asia-Pacific region are changing rapidly and with these changes are coming changes in the food supply, food intake and related health advantages and problems. The nexus between protein-energy malnutrition in the young is being replaced by a nexus between nutrient excess, with associated food component deficiencies, and non-communicable disease in an aging population. A food supply which is abundant, refined and fatty characterizes the present situation, and the early expressions of abdominal fatness with its attendant metabolism dysfunctions and health sequelae are indicative of the transitional health problems. These include cardiovascular disease, diaabetes, certain cancers, osteoporosis and immune deficiency. Urbanization and population pressures will be eased by innovations in food production and food technology, with attention to the full risk-benefit equation for individuals and the need for an environmentally sustainable food supply. Prevention will depend on how well the region manages each of these dimensions.

I like the ancient pattern, where and instead of one＇s title one tells the name of one＇s mentor. Three mentors shaped my professional life. The first one was in Warsaw, Poland, prof. Bohdan lewicki, whose books on concrete panels were translated in many languages. One day, after his class, he told me：＂We need to evaluate hygrothermal performance of an experimental building with no-fine concrete,--if you would like to do it, I will provide you with aU the money needed. From this day on, I have been learning Building Physics. My second mentor was prof. lars Eric Nevander in lund, Sweden, one of the three Swedish professors who in 1972 introduced limit states method into the field of durability assessment, exactly 40 years before the first ISO standard did so. lars Eric taught me that progress in construction depends on how strong is the continuum between industrial and academic domains in Building Physics.

亚太地区的经济和社会人口状况正在迅速发生改变,随着这些变化也带来了食物供应、食物摄入、对健康有利的条件和健康问题,幼年人群的蛋白质热能营养不良问题正在被老年人群的因非传染性疾病和因营养过多而食物组成单调的问题所取代。食物供应丰富、精制和油脂过多是当前的特点,过早地表现为腹部脂肪堆积伴随着代谢功能障碍及其对健康的后果是过渡时期健康问题的指征。这些包括心血管疾病、糖尿病、某些癌症、骨质疏松和免疫缺乏症。城市化和人口压力将通过食物生产和食物工艺的革新而得到缓解,但同时,应注意其对个体的利害关系和环境所能承受的对食物供应的需求。预防的效果将取决于该地区怎样妥善管理这些方方面面。
