【目的】旨在探讨饲料中添加不同益生菌对亚东鲑(Salmo trutta)生长性能、消化酶活性和血清生化指标的影响。【方法】选择初始体质量为(84.57±1.83)g的亚东鲑鱼种630尾,随机分成7组,每组3个平行,每个平行30尾。对照组投喂基础饲料,实验组分别添加不同益生菌(酵母菌、EM菌、乳酸菌、枯草芽孢杆菌、复合芽孢杆菌、地衣芽孢杆菌)至基础饲料,饲养3个月。【结果】添加不同益生菌对亚东鲑都具有促生长作用,试验组体长增长率、增重率、特定生长率、食物转化率和摄食率等指标均显著高于对照组(P0.05),而其他菌组之间均有不同程度影响。【结论】综合考虑存活率、生长特性、消化酶活性和血清生化指标,添加EM菌对亚东鲑健康养殖效果较好。

Study of tumor necrosis factor receptor in the inflammatory bowel disease

Serum levels of angiotensin converting enzyme as a biomarker of liver fibrosis

The renin angiotensin system(RAS) is classically conceived as a circulating hormonal system involved in blood pressure control and hydroelectrolyte balance. The discovery that RAS components are locally expressed in a wide range of organs and tissues,including the liver,pointed to a role for this system in the pathogenesis of several conditions including hepatic fibrosis and cirrhosis. It has been widely reported that the classical RAS axis composed by the angiotensin converting enzyme(ACE)-angiotensin(Ang) Ⅱ-Ang type 1(AT1) receptor mediates pro-inflammatory,pro-thrombotic,and pro-fibrotic processes. On the other hand,the alternative axis comprising ACE2-Ang-(1-7)-Mas receptor seems to play a protective role by frequently opposing Ang Ⅱ action. Chronic hepatitis B(CHB) is one of the leading causes of liver fibrosis,accounting for the death of nearly one million people worldwide. Liver fibrosis is a key factor to determine therapeutic interventions for patients with CHB. However,the establishment of non-invasive and accurate methods to detect reversible stages of liver fibrosis is still a challenge. In an elegant study published in the 36 th issue of the World Journal of Gastroenterology,Noguchi et al showed the predictive value of serum ACE levels in detecting not only advanced stages of liver fibrosis but also initial and intermediate fibrotic stages. The serum levels of ACE might represent an accurate,non-invasive,widely available,and easy method to evaluate fibrosis related to CHB. Moreover,therapies involving the inhibition of the classical RAS axis components might be promising in the control of CHB-related liver fibrosis.

Role of inflammatory cytokines in peripheral nerve injury

Inflammatory events occurring in the distal part of an injured peripheral nerve have, nowadays, a great resonance. Investigating the timing of action of the several cytokines in the important stages of Wallerian degeneration helps to understand the regenerative process and design pharmacologic intervention that promotes and expedites recovery. The complex and synergistic action of inflammatory cytokines finally promotes axonal regeneration. Cytokines can be divided into pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines that upregulate and downregulate, respectively, the production of inflammatory mediators. While pro-inflammatory cytokines are expressed in the first phase of Wallerian degeneration and promote the recruitment of macrophages, anti-inflammatory cytokines are expressed after this recruitment and downregulate the production of all cytokines, thus determining the end of the process. In this review, we describe the major inflammatory cytokines involved in Wallerian degeneration and the early phases of nerve regeneration. In particular, we focus on interleukin-1, interleukin-2, interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor-β, interleukin-10 and transforming growth factor-β.

Empirical results are presented showing that people who acknowledge pain anticipation when expecting an injury experience higher sensitivity to pain (GREP, Robinson et al., 2001). The positive correlation between sensitivity and anticipation is highly significant. However, no relationship is found between anticipation and pain endurance.

Signal transduction mediated by Bid, a pro-death Bcl-2 family proteins, connects the death receptor and mitochondria apoptosis pathways

Two major apoptosis pathways have been defined in mammalian cells, the Fas/TNF-R1 death receptor pathway and the mitochondria.pa.hway. The Bcl-2 family proteins consist of both anti-apoptosis and pro- apoptosis members that regulate apoptosis, mainly by controlling the release of cytochrome c and other mitochondrial apoptotic events. However, death signals mediated by Fas/TNF-R1 receptors can usually activate ca.pa.es directly, bypassing the need for mitochondria and escaping the regulation by Bcl-2 family proteins. Bid is a novel pro-apoptosis Bcl-2 family protein that is activated by ca.pa.e 8 in response to Fas/TNF-R1 death receptor signals. Activated Bid is translocated to mitochondria and induces cytochrome c release, which in turn activates downstream ca.pa.es. Such a connection between the two apoptosis pathways could be important for induction of apoptosis in certain types of cells and responsible for the pathogenesis of a number of human diseases.

High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy for Mycosis Fungoides of the Wrist

Mycosis fungoides (MF) is the most common cutaneous T-cell lymphoma accounting for approximately half of all cutaneous T-cell lymphomas. Radiation therapy is an effective treatment for early stage MF and has been shown to result in long-term disease-free intervals, with even curative potential. Radiation is also effective as palliative treatment for the localized lesion resistant to the topic or other treatments. In the current study, we report using high dose rate (HDR) radiation treatment for a.pa.ient with resistant mycosis fungoides involving the wrist. We report a convenient treatment with an ideal radiation dose distribution, and a excellent clinical outcome.
