In this paper we explore the form.tion of bars and present the bulge and bar properties and their correlations for a sam.le of lenticular barred(SB0)and lenticular unbarred(S0)galaxies in the central region of the Com. Cluster using HST/ACS *** our sam.le,we identified bar features using the lum.nosity profile decom.osition software *** classified the bulges based on Sérsic index and Korm.ndy *** found that the average m.ss of the bulge in SB0 galaxies is 1.48×10^(10)m.whereas the average m.ss of the bulge in S0 galaxies is 4.3×10^(10)m..We observe that SB0 galaxies show lower bulge concentration,low m.ss and also sm.ller B/T values com.ared to S0 *** the Korm.ndy relation,we found that am.ng the lenticular barred galaxies,82%have classical bulges and 18%have pseudo *** classical bulges have low m.sses com.ared to the classical bulges of unbarred galaxies.S0,galaxies with m.ssive classical bulges do not host *** also found that for all SB0s the bulge effective radius is less than the bar effective ***0 galaxies with classical bulges suggest that the bar m.y have form.d by m.rgers.

CCD photom.tric observations with B and V passbands were perform.d on the contact binary V3 in the field of open cluster m.7. The solutions were obtained for data from.both B and V passbands along with R passband given by Hartm.n et al. using the Wilson-Devinney code. The positive O＇Connell effect was observed in all the three passbands and its associated cool spot param.ters were derived. The results indicate that the spot param.ters have not shown any significant variability during the last four years. The spot radius was found to be 40° and located close to the equator of the secondary com.onent. The absolute param.ters of the system.were derived using the em.irical relations given by Gazeas et al.

We exam.ned the effects of forest patch size on woody tree species richness and abundance in tropical m.ntane evergreen forest patches of the Nilgiri region,south India. We sam.led woody trees(>1 cm.dbh) from.21 forest patches in the upper Nilgiri hills(> 2000 m.elevation) and recorded a total of 35,146 individuals of 61 species, 45 genera and 30 fam.lies. Species richness and abundance of sapling/shrubs(≥ 1 to m.dbh)increased significantly with increasing patch size, but the species richness and abundance of sm.ll, m.dium.and larger trees(≥ 10 to m.dbh,respectively) did not. Overall, forest interior species richness and abundance increased significantly with increasing patch size but edge species richness did not. Species richness and abundance of shade-tolerant and shade-dem.nding tree species also increased with increasing patch size. The abundance of zoochory dispersed tree species was significantly related to increasing patch size, but those dispersed by autochory did not display any clear relationship between patch size and species richness or *** findings suggest that with increasing forest patch area,tree com.ositional patterns m.y be driven by species specific shade-tolerance adaptations and dispersal *** responses in these traits by the plant com.unity within the individual habitat zones of forest edge and interiors likely plays a m.jor role in determ.ning the inherent plant com.unity and thus the subsequent ecological processes of forest patches, including their responses to increasing patch area.

An accurate frequency synchronization m.thod using the zadoff-chu (ZC) constant envelop pream.le is analyzed, and a new pream.le weighted by pseudo-noise sequence is used for orthogonal frequency division m.ltiplexing (OFDm. system.. Using this m.thod, frequency offset estim.tor range is greatly enlarged with no loss in accuracy. The range of the frequency estim.tion is ±30 of subcarrier spacing using ZC sequence as pream.le. Sim.lations in the m.TLAB for an AWGN channel show that the proposed m.thod achieves superior perform.nce to existing techniques in term. of frequency accuracy and range.

AIm. To investigate m.rphological changes of the enteric nervous system.(ENS) and the interstitial cells of Cajal (ICCs) in sm.ll bowel ***: Resected sm.ll bowel specim.ns from.affected patients (n = 7) were divided into three parts (proxim.l, atretic, distal). Standard histology and enzym. im.unohistochem.stry anti-S100, anti-protein gene product (PGP) 9.5, anti-neurofilam.nt (NF), antic-kit-receptor (CD117) was carried out on conventional paraffin sections of the proxim.l and distal part. RESULTS: The neuronal and glial m.rkers (PGP 9.5, NF, S-100) were expressed in hypertrophied ganglia and nerve fibres within the m.enteric and subm.cosal plexuses. Furtherm.re, the subm.cous plexus contained typical giant ganglia. The innervation pattern of the proxim.l bowel resem.led intestinal neuronal dysplasia. The density of m.enteric ICCs was clearly reduced in the proxim.l bowel, whereas a m.derate num.er of m.scular ICCs were found. The anti-CD117 im.unore- action revealed additional num.rous m.st cells. The distal bowel dem.nstrated norm.l m.rphology and density of the ENS, the ICCs and the m.st ***: The proxim.l and distal bowel in sm.ll bowel atresia revealed clear changes in m.rphology and density of the ENS and ICCs.

Dear Editor, In today＇s post-genom.c era where direct targets of m.nytranscription factors have been identified, it is becom.ngincreasingly evident that transcriptional networks are verycom.lex. Heterodim.rization of transcription factors is oneof the several m.thods by which these com.lex transcrip-tional networks are form.d. By heterodim.rization, DNA-binding specificity and affinity, transactivation properties,and ultim.tely cell physiology m.ght be altered （Naar et al.,2001）. The form.tion of heterodim.rs has the potential torecognize additional binding sites and increase the rangeof DNA-binding specificity （Foster et al., 1994）. Further, het-erodim.rization also allows the production of new proteinconfigurations. For exam.le, the protein STF1 from.soybeancan dim.rize with GBF proteins and this dim.rization bringstogether the acidic region from.STF1 and the proline-richregion of the GBF proteins into one binding elem.nt （Cheonget al., 1998）. These results highlight the im.ortance and/orconsequences of heterodim.rization of transcription factorsat particular locus. However, to understand the com.lex tran-scriptional networks, it is im.ortant to investigate that howheterodim.rization affects the whole-genom.-wide bind-ing and transcriptional properties of a transcription *** in this study, we have investigated genom.-wide DNAbinding of bZIP transcription factor GBF1, and analyzed theim.ortance of its heterodim.rization with HY5 and HYH forits genom.-wide binding. We have found that GBF1 bindingsites are enriched within the 1-kb regions upstream.to thetranscription start sites of target genes. m.reover, the bind-ings of GBF1 to m.st of its targets are largely dependent onHY5, while HYH only affects the binding of GBF1 to som.specific sites.

We present the results obtained from.the analysis of dynam.c fibrils in NOAA active region （AR） 12132, using high resolution Ha observations from.the New Solar Telescope operating at Big Bear Solar Observatory. The dynam.c fibrils are seen to be m.ving up and down, and m.st of these dynam.c fibrils are periodic and have a jet-like appearance. We found from.our observations that the fibrils follow alm.st perfect parabolic paths in m.ny cases. A statistical analysis on the properties of the parabolic paths showing an analysis on deceleration, m.xim.m.velocity, duration and kinetic energy of these fibrils is presented here. We found the average m.xim.m.velocity to be around 15 km.s-1 and m.an deceleration to be around 100 m.s-2. The observed deceleration appears to be a fraction of gravity of the Sun and is not com.atible with the path of ballistic m.tion due to gravity of the Sun. We found a positive correlation between deceleration and m.xim.m.velocity. This correlation is consistent with sim.lations done earlier on m.gnetoacoustic shock waves propagating upward.
