Cystic lesions in a variety of organs are being increasingly recognized as an incidental finding on cross-sectional *** lesions can be benign,premalignant or *** these cystic lesions are small it can be difficult to characterize them ***,with appropriate clinical history and knowledge of typical imaging features of cystic pancreatic lesions this can enable accurate diagnosis and thus guide appropriate *** this review,we provide an overview of the most common types of cystic lesions and their appearance on computer tomography,magnetic resonance imaging and *** will also discuss the follow up and management strategies of these cystic lesions.

Significant advances in ultrasound technology have created new opportunities for its use in oncologic imaging. The advent of new transducers with focal beam technology and higher frequency has solidified the role of intraoperative sonography (IOUS) as an invaluable imaging modality in oncologic surgery of the liver, kidneys and pancreas. The ability to detect and characterize small lesions and the precise intraoperative localization of such tumors is essential for adequate surgical planning in segmental or lobar hepatic resections, metastasectomy, nephron-sparing surgery, and partial pancreatectomy. Also, diagnostic characterization of small equivocal lesions deemed indeterminate by conventional preoperative imaging such as multidetector computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging, has become an important application of IOUS. This article will review the current applications of IOUS in the liver, kidneys and pancreas.

Significant advances in imaging technology have changed the management of pancreatic cancer. In computed tomography (CT), this has included development of multidetector row, rapid, thin-section imaging that has also facilitated the advent of advanced reconstructions, which in turn has offered new perspectives from which to evaluate this disease. In magnetic resonance imaging, advances including higher field strengths, thin-section volumetric acquisitions, diffusion weighted imaging, and liver specific contrast agents have also resulted in new tools for diagnosis and staging. Endoscopic ultrasound has resulted in the ability to provide high-resolution imaging rivaling intraoperative ultrasound, along with the ability to biopsy via real time imaging suspected pancreatic lesions. Positron emission tomography with CT, while still evolving in its role, provides whole body staging as well as the unique imaging characteristic of metabolic activity to aid disease management. This article will review these modalities in the diagnosis and staging of pancreatic cancer.

BACKGROUND Radiomics can assess prognostic factors in several types of tumors,but considering its prognostic ability in pancreatic cancer has been *** To evaluate the performance of two different radiomics software in assessing survival outcomes in pancreatic cancer *** We retrospectively reviewed pretreatment contrast-enhanced dual-energy computed tomography images from 48 patients with biopsy-confirmed pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma who later underwent neoadjuvant chemoradiation and *** were segmented using TexRad software for 2-dimensional(2D)analysis and MIM software for 3D analysis,followed by radiomic feature *** proportional hazard modeling correlated texture features with overall survival(OS)and progression-free survival(PFS).Cox regression was used to detect differences in OS related to pretreatment tumor size and residual tumor following *** Wilcoxon test was used to show the relationship between tumor volume and the percent of residual ***-Meier analysis was used to compare survival in patients with different tumor densities in Hounsfield units for both 2D and 3D *** 3D analysis showed that higher mean tumor density[hazard ratio(HR)=0.971,P=0.041)]and higher median tumor density(HR=0.970,P=0.037)correlated with better OS.2D analysis showed that higher mean tumor density(HR=0.963,P=0.014)and higher mean positive pixels(HR=0.962,P=0.014)correlated with better OS;higher skewness(HR=3.067,P=0.008)and higher kurtosis(HR=1.176,P=0.029)correlated with worse *** entropy correlated with better PFS(HR=0.056,P=0.036).Models determined that patients with increased tumor size greater than 1.35 cm were likely to have a higher percentage of residual tumors of over 10%.CONCLUSION Several radiomics features can be used as prognostic tools for pancreatic ***,results vary between 2D and 3D *** tumor density was the only variable that could reliably predict OS,irrespective

A mathematical model has been developed to analyze the influence of extreme water waves over multiconnected regions in Visakhapatnam Port,India by considering an average water depth in each multiconnected *** addition,partial reflection of incident waves on coastal boundary is also *** domain of interest is divided mainly into two regions,i.e.,open sea region and harbor region namely as Region-I and Region-II,***,Region-II is divided into multiple connected *** 2-D boundary element method(BEM)including the Chebyshev point discretization is utilized to solve the Helmholtz equation in each region separately to determine the wave *** numerical convergence is performed to obtain the optimum numerical accuracy and the validation of the current numerical approach is also conducted by comparing the simulation results with existing *** four key spots based on the moored ship locations in Visakhapatnam Port are identified to perform the numerical *** wave amplification at these locations is estimated for monochromatic incident waves,considering approximate water depth and different reflection coefficients on the wall of port under the resonance *** addition,wave field analysis inside the Visakhapatnam Port is also conducted to understand resonance *** current numerical model provides an efficient tool to analyze the amplification on any realistic ports or harbors.
