Objective:To identify genotypes of Oesophagostmum venulosum(***) prevailing in West Bengal,India by comparing variation of nucleotide sequences among 28S ***: PCR amplification of partial segment of 28 S rRNA sequence and analysis of sequence amplified product by single strand conformation polymorphism(SSCP).Results:Two distinct conformers among male and female parasites were identified by PCR-SSCP *** analysis among conformers revealed the presence of five single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP) in codon 64,66,86,125 and *** RNA prediction structure showed that out of 5 SNPs,4 occurred at interior loop of RNA which confirmed evolutionary changes among isolates prevailing in this ***:SNPs occured in different isolates of *** might influence critical changes in rRNA folding pattern which influence evolutionary changes among isolates.

Al_2O_3–CaO–SiC-based ceramic composites with four different compositions were sintered at 1700℃ for 3 h in an air furnace. The phase analysis, microstructural characterization, and elemental composition determination of the developed composites were performed by X-ray diffraction(XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray(EDAX) analysis, respectively. The shrinkage, thermal properties, and electrical resistivity of the composites were also studied. The experimental results showed the effects of adding silicon carbide and calcia to alumina on the thermal, electrical, and shrinkage properties of the resultant composites. Among the four investigated ceramic composites, the one composed of 99 wt% alumina, 0.5 wt% CaO, and 0.5 wt% SiC exhibited the best characteristics for use as a potting material in a dispenser cathode of a microwave tube. The material exhibited slight expansion instead of shrinkage during drying or firing. Other properties of the composite powder, such as its thermal properties and electrical resistivity, were comparable to those of a commercial alumina powder.

Objective:To evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of berberine,a plant ***:Five multi-drug resistant（MDR） STEC/EPEC and five MDR ETEC isolates from yaks with haemorrhagic diarrhoea were selected for the *** activity of berberine was evaluated by broth dilution and disc diffusion *** binding kinetics of berberine to DNA and protein was also ***:For both categories of enterovirulent Escherichia coli（***） isolates, berberine displayed the antibaclerial effect in a dose dependent *** MIC50 of berberine chloride for STEC/EPEC isolates varied from 2.07μM to 3.6μM with a mean of（2.95±0.33）μM where as for ETEC strains it varied from 1.75 to 1.96μM with a mean of（1.87±0.03）μM. Berberine bind more tightly with double helix DNA with Bmax and Kd of（24.68±2.62） and（357.8±57.8）,*** reacted with protein in comparatively loose manner with Bmax and Kd of（18.9±3.83） and <286.2±113.6),***:The results indicate clearly that berberine may serve as a good antibacterial against multi drug resistant ***.

Alumina was joined with graphite by active metal brazing technique at 895,900,905,and 910 ℃ for 10 min in vacuum of0.67 mPa using Ti-Cu-Ag（68.8Ag-26.7Cu-4.5Ti;mass fraction,%） as filler *** brazed samples were thermal cycled between 30 and 600 ℃ and characterized.X-ray diffraction results show strong reaction between titanium and carbon as well as titanium and *** electron microscopy and helium leak tests show that the initial and thermal cycled brazed samples are devoid of cracks or anv other defects and hermeticity in *** strength of the joints is found to be satisfactory.

We present a simple method for obtaining high-density two- and three- dimensional assemblies of gold nanorods （AuNRs） on polymer brush, referred to as ＂surface-floating super-aggregates＂, with uniform distribution spanning macroscopic distances. This was achieved via the single-step immersion of a poly（oligo ethylene glycol methacrylate） brush-containing substrate in a AuNR solution without any form of functionalization. Owing to extensive macroscale plasmonic coupling, we observed for the first time the gradual evolution of a unique sharp peak in addition to the transverse and longitudinal peaks, in this case, in the near-infrared （NIR） region. We also highlight the dynamic nature of these surface-floating super-aggregates, in which the AuNRs spread out when immersed in solution and collapse when dried to facilitate the access of probe molecules for biosensing applications. As a proof of concept, the surface-floating super-aggregates were used for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, with which we detected rhodamine 6G at as low as sub-femtomolar concentrations. Owing to the excellent large-area uniform coverage and extreme simplicity of the fabrication method, such AuNR assemblies can easily be mass-produced and incorporated into cheap biosensors suitable for consumer use in the near future.

Prevalence of Deg Nala disease in eastern India and its reproduction in buffaloes by feeding Fusarium oxysporum infested rice straw

Objective:To undertake a study on prevalence of Deg Nala disease in eastern states of India and to reproduce the disease in buffaloes by the Fusarium spp.,isolated from the affected region. Methods:During this investigation,a survey was conducted covering four states of eastern region to identify the Deg Nala cases as well as to isolate and characterize the causative agent(s). An experimental study was carried out to reproduce the disease in healthy male buffaloes(2-3 years age) by randomly dividing them into five groups(four in each group).Each individual group was fed with rice straw artificially infested with either of the two representative isolates of Fusarium oxysporum(***)(F01,F02) or representative reference strains of Fusarium equiseti(***)(ITCCF-2470) and Fusarium moniliforme(***)(ITCCF-4821) for 30 days,whereas the control group was fed with normal rice straw ***:A total of 658 Deg Nala cases were recorded and 12 Fusarium isolates were identified from the mouldy rice straw collected from these affected *** characterization of the isolates revealed three species viz.,***,*** and ***,among which *** was *** disease was artificially reproduced in three buffaloes in F01 group and one in F02 group within 20-23 days by feeding *** infested rice straw which resembled the clinical symptoms and gross lesions of natural Deg Nala ***:The field investigation and laboratory studies,including experimental production of Deg Nala disease suggest the possible involvement of ***,further investigations needs to be done to understand nature of the toxic factors involved in production of the Deg Nala disease.

Comparative Study on Conventional Sintering with Microwave Sintering and Vacuum Sintering of Y₂O₃-Al₂O₃-ZrO₂ Ceramics

The present investigation demonstrated the comparative studies carried out on conventional, microwave and vacuum sintering of alumina added yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ). The conventional, microwave and vacuum sintered specimens were characterized by density measurement, XRD, SEM with EDX analysis and hardness evaluation. Microwave sintering was proved to be the best efficient sintering technique with respect to energy and time savings. Enhanced densification was observed for the microwave and vacuum sintered specimens at lower temperatures compared to the conventionally sintered ones. Further, it was observed that the particle size had significant influence on the enhancement of densification. The microwave sintered specimen showed the highest hardness compared to conventional and vacuum sintered specimens.
