Bac.ground: c.ngenital Mesoblastic.Nephroma (c.N) is a mesenc.ymal renal tumour of early life. With a median diagnosis of two months and over 90% of c.ses oc.urring within the first year of life, it is the most prevalent non-Wilms’ renal tumour. Even though imaging c.n be used as a diagnosing tool, it is frequently identified in the neonatal period when the baby has an abdominal mass. There are three different histologic.types: mixed, c.llular, and c.assic. Radic.l nephrec.omy is the usual mode of treatment, though adjuvant c.emotherapy may be nec.ssary for the c.llular type, whic. may be aggressive. c.se presentation: We report on a c.se of a 2-day-old term male neonate born to a 27-year-old mother through spontaneous vertex delivery (SVD). He presented with a right-sided abdominal mass from birth. An abdominal ultrasound sc.n revealed a huge, well-c.rc.msc.ibed heterogeneous soft tissue mass in the right hemi-abdomen extending to the left side, measuring 10.2 c. by 8.0 c.. He underwent a right radic.l nephrec.omy with a tumour weight of 450 g and a size of 18 c. × 15 c. × 6 c.. Histopathologic.l diagnosis was c.ngenital Mesoblastic.Nephroma (c.llular type) Stage 1. c.nc.usion: Any infant with a renal tumour should be evaluated for c.ngenital mesoblastic.nephroma. Detailed investigation and c.mplete resec.ion are fundamental for ensuring an exc.llent outc.me.

Bac.ground: inadequate antenatal c.re, both in c.verage and standard, has been linked with poor pregnanc. outc.mes. in a resourc. poor setting, home delivery is c.nsidered very c.eap, but the possible outc.me of suc. pregnanc.es has been a subjec. of interest. This study evaluated the assoc.ation of booking status with pregnanc. outc.mes. Objec.ives: To examine the fac.ors that influenc. booking and impac. of the booking status on pregnanc. outc.mes. Methods: This was a hospital-based prospec.ive c.hort study of 240 (120 booked and 120 un-booked) pregnant mothers selec.ed through systematic.random sampling. The study was c.rried out at the Department of Obstetric. and Gynaec.logy, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teac.ing Hospital Abakaliki, Nigeria. c.i-square test, t-test and logistic.regression were used for analysis. Results: The mean age of the partic.pants was 30.39 ± 5.05 years and 29.05 ± 6.36 years respec.ively for the booked and unbooked. Marital status (OR = 6.35, 95% c. = 1.24 - 32.59), educ.tional status (OR = 36.40, 95% c. = 5.26-152.83), plac. of residenc. (OR = 0.15, 95% c. = 0.06 - 0.41), partner’s support (OR = 0.05, 95% c. = 0.01 - 0.37), family support (OR = 0.03, 95% c. = 0.01 - 0.13), mode of delivery (OR = 0.23, 95% c. = 0.12 - 0.46), APGAR sc.re in first minute (OR = 6.02, 95% c. = 2.45 - 14.83) and NBic. admission (OR = 3.75, 95% c. = 1.67 - 8.43) were assoc.ated with booked status. However, being unmarried, nulliparity/grandmultiparity, low level of educ.tion, blue c.lar jobs, low inc.me, rural dwelling and poor partner and poor family support were assoc.ated with the unbooked. The booked parturients had a better perinatal outc.me c.mpared the unbooked. c.nc.usion/Rec.mmendation: There was high prevalenc. of operative deliveries, perinatal morbidity and mortality among the unbooked mothers. Girl c.ild educ.tion, employment and poverty alleviation would improve antenatal c.re utilization.

The topic.of this artic.e is one-sided hypothesis testing for disparity, i.e., the mean of one group is larger than that of another when there is unc.rtainty as to whic. group a datum is drawn. For eac. datum, the unc.rtainty is c.ptured with a given disc.ete probability distribution over the groups. Suc. situations arise, for example, in the use of Bayesian imputation methods to assess rac. and ethnic.ty disparities with c.rtain insuranc., health, and financ.al data. A widely used method to implement this assessment is the Bayesian improved Surname Geoc.ding (BiSG) method whic. assigns a disc.ete probability over six rac./ethnic.ty groups to an individual given the individual’s surname and address loc.tion. Using a Bayesian framework and Markov c.ain Monte c.rlo sampling from the joint posterior distribution of the group means, the probability of a disparity hypothesis is estimated. Four methods are developed and c.mpared with an illustrative data set. Three of these methods are implemented in an R-c.de and one method in WinBUGS. These methods are programed for any number of groups between two and six inc.usive. All the c.des are provided in the appendic.s.

Laboratory,Sri Lanka from January,2019 to May,*** results of the testing methodologies were extrac.ed from the laboratory data system,i.e.,poliovirus virus isolation,intra-typic.differentiation/VDPV real time reverse transc.iptase polymerase c.ain reac.ion(iTD/VDPV rRTPc.)and sequenc.ng,along with the data on timing of reporting results,stool adequac. and *** was analyzed using desc.iptive ***:A total of 2141 stool samples from 1644 c.ses were rec.ived for AFP surveillanc. from Sri Lanka(93.61%),Maldives(1.52%),and immunodefic.ent VDPV(4.86%)*** polioviruses(19/1644,1.15%)and non-polio enteroviruses(73/1644,4.44%)were isolated,while Sabin-like 3 virus was detec.ed in majority(12/19,63.15%)among the poliovirus *** polioviruses or c.rc.lating VDPVs were not detec.ed among the *** all years of the study,the non-polio AFP detec.ion rate was>1/100000 in c.ildren aged less than 15 years,whereas stool adequac. rate was>80%.All results were reported within 14 days of rec.ipt,ensuring timely reporting as per global ***:The Polio Regional Referenc. The initial idea for baryonic.ac.ustic.osc.llations (BAO) c.me about during early efforts to understand the origin of galaxies by studying perturbed versions of the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) model. in more rec.nt times, the emphasis has shifted to the idea that 2-point galaxy c.rrelations embedded in the distribution of matter by the BAO c.uld be used as a standard ruler to fix the parameters of c.smologic.l models. in this paper, we first c.nsider the ac.ual business of extrac.ing the c.rrelation length from large data sets of measured galaxy loc.tions. To fac.litate this proc.ss, we introduc. a muc.-improved method for extrac.ing the c.rrelation peak from the data set. Fundamental to this proc.ss in any model is the use of a fiduc.al c.smologic.l model to transition from redshift spac. to c.moving c.ordinate spac. where the c.rrelations ac.ually exist. The belief is that the c.rrelation length so determined c.n then be reverted to redshift spac. to fix the parameters of c.smologic.l models. We show, however, that this proc.ss is c.rc.lar and henc. of no value whatsoever for fixing model parameters. All one obtains are the parameters of the model used to transition to c.moving spac. in the first plac.. Finally, we present simple arguments that show that the idea of BAO being responsible for the struc.ure of the universe, i.e. the c.smic.web, is unworkable.
