No relation between ACE-I/D polymorphism and high altitude pulmonary edema in the Han Chinese

Objectives To explore whether the angiotensin Ι-converting enzyme(ACE) I/D(insertion/deletion) polymorphism is associated with the susceptibility to high altitude pulmonary edema(HAPE) in the Han Chinese. methods One hundred and forty-seven HAPE-p(HAPE patients) and 193 HAPE-r(HAPE resistants) were enrolled from the Yushu earthquake reconstruction workers in Qinghai province where the altitude is over 3 500 m above sea level. Blood samples were collected from each of the HAPE-p and HAPE-r groups. Information about physiological phenotypes was obtained via fieldwork investigation. The ACE-I/D polymorphism in HAPE-p and HAPE-r was detected by polymerase chain reaction(PCR). Results The SaO2 was significantly lower while HR was significant1y higher in HAPE-p group than those in HAPE-r group. The genotype frequencies of ACE-I/D for II, ID, DD in HAPE-r and HAPE-p groups were 0.430, 0.446, 0.124 and 0.435, 0.469, 0.095, respectively, the allelic frequencies of I and D were 0.650, 0.350 and 0.670, 0.330, respectively. The OR of ID, DD and D alleles relative to II for HAPE was 0.961(0.610~1.514), 1.322(0.634~2.758) and 1.080(0.783~1.489). There was no significant difference of the genotypic and the allelic frequencies in ACE-I/D polymorphism between HAPE-p and HAPE-r groups. Conclusions There is no relation between ACE-I/D polymorphism and HAPE in the Han Chinese.

A colliding microjet liquid sheet target system was developed and tested for pairs of round nozzles of 10,11 and 18μm in *** sheet's position stability was found to be better than a few *** interaction with 50 mJ laser pulses,the 18μm jet has a resonance amplitude of 16μm at a repetition rate of 33 Hz,while towards 100 Hz it converges to 10μm for all nozzles.A white-light interferometric system was developed to measure the liquid sheet thickness in the target chamber both in air and in vacuum,with a measurement range of 182 nm±1μm and an accuracy of±3%.The overall shape and 3D shape of the sheet follow the Hasson±Peck model in *** vacuum versus air,the sheet gradually loses 10%of its thickness,so the thinnest sheet achieved was below 200 nm at a vacuum level of 10±4mbar,and remained stable for several hours of operation.

Hot corrosion and erosion are recognized as serious problems in coal based power generation plants in India. The coal used in Indian power stations has large amounts of ash (about 50%) which contain abrasive mineral species such as hard quartz (up to 15%) which increase the erosion propensity of coal. Hot corrosion and erosion in boilers and related components are responsible for huge losses, both direct and indirect, in power generation. An understanding of these problems and thus to develop suitable protective system is essential for maximizing the utilization of such components. These problems can be prevented by either changing the material or altering the environment or by separating the component surface from the environment. Corrosion prevention by the use of coatings for separating material from the environment is gaining importance in surface engineering.

Ocean wave energy is a significant and promising source of renewable ***,the energy harvesting is challenging due to the multi-directional nature of *** paper proposes a magnetic-field-assisted triboelectric nanogenerator(mFATENG)for harvesting multi-directional wave *** incorporating a magnetic field,the planar motion of the pendulum is converted into spatial motion,increasing the triggering of multilayered TENG(m-TENG)and enhancing the output energy of the *** results demonstrate that the output energy of the mFA-TENG is increased by 73%by utilizing the magnetic ***,a spring model based on the origami-structured m-TENG is established to analyze the effect of different equivalent stiffnesses on the performance of the m-TENG,aiming to obtain optimal output *** results showcase the impressive output performance of the m-TENG,generating outputs of 250 V,18μA,and 255 ***,the proposed mFA-TENG effectively harvests multi-directional wave energy under water-wave driven *** study significantly enhances the ability of the mFA-TENG to harvest multi-directional wave energy and presents a promising approach for self-powered marine monitoring in the future.

The estimation of surface evapotranspiration （ET） with satellite dataset is one of the main subjects in the understanding of climate change, disaster monitoring and the circulation of water vapor and energy in Tibet Autonomous Region （TAR）. This research selects satellite images on January 11, April 6, July 31 and October 19 in 2010 as the representative of winter, spring, summer and autumn respectively, estimates the distribution of daily surface ET based on the surface energy balance system （SEBS） along with potential evapotranspiration （PET） and ET derived from Penman-monteith （P-m） method. The results are obtained as follows. （1） The seasonal distribution of ET and PET basically decreases from the southeast part to the northwest part of TAR. Although ET and PET have similar spatial distributions, there are still some differences to estimate the extreme values especially the maximum value in the middle and southeastern parts of TAR. No matter what kind of methods we adopted, the maximum value of ET and PET always appears in summer, followed by autumn or spring while that in winter is the smallest. （2） In order to better understand the accuracy of SEBS model in the estimation of ET, we compared the ET from SEBS and the ET obtained from P-m method. Results show that the ET from SEBS could estimates the variation trend of actual ET, but it slightly underestimates or overestimates the value of ET as a whole, especially for those areas with thick forest. （3） The spatial distribution of Normalized Difference Vegetation Index （NDVI） exhibits a decreasing trend from the southeast part to the northwest part of TAR which displays remarkable consistency of distributions between ET and vegetation index. ET is well positively related to NDVI, minimum, mean, maximum air temperature and sunshine duration in different seasons while negatively related to precipitation, relative humidity and wind speed in summer.

研究目的:地下水开采是引发地面沉降的的主要原因,且集中抽水引起的不均匀沉降会对高速铁路工程造成严重危害。因此,研究水井抽水引起地基变形过程,合理估算地基沉降范围,用以指导地面沉降区内的高速铁路选线及采取可靠的防治措施。研究结论:(1)基于离心模型试验结果,采用数值模拟方法模拟分析了不同深度条件下水井抽水引起地基沉降的规律和影响范围,模拟结果表明靠近抽水位置区域的地基变形大于远离水抽水位置区域,排水引起的地基沉降量与其不均匀程度随着排水次数和沉降的增大有逐渐减小的趋势;(2)不同深度抽水时引起地面沉降过程及影响范围有所不同,浅层抽水时不均匀沉降较为严重,影响范围较小,深层抽水时地基沉降较平缓,但影响范围较大;(3)承压水单井稳定流抽水引起的地基变形影响范围与含水层渗透系数负相关,与开采量正相关,若控制地下水开采量,其变形影响范围是可以控制的,一般不会超过1 000 m;(4)当高速铁路经过地面沉降易发区时,需采取绕避集中抽水区域、封井、禁采、限采及控制地下水开采量等多重措施;(5)该研究成果可指导高速铁路选线和铁路沿线地面沉降防治等领域。

Optical gain enhancement of two-dimensional CsPbBr3 nanosheets was studied when the amplified spontaneous emission is guided by a patterned structure of *** the uncertainties and pitfalls in retrieving a gain coefficient from the variable stripe length method,a gain contour g((h))ω.x)was obtained in the plane of spectrum energy(hω)and stripe length(x),whereby an average gain was obtained,and gain saturation was *** and temperature dependence of the gain contour show that the waveguide enhances both gain and thermal stability due to the increased optical confinement and heat dissipation,and the gain origins were attributed to the two-dimensional excitons and the localized states.
