Status of carbohydrate,protein and lipid profile in the mosquito larvae treated with certain phytoextracts

Objective:To investigate the impact of the most potent petroleum ether extract of Artemisia annua(***) and Azadirachta indica(***) on total carbohydrate,lipid and protein level of Anopheles stephensi and Culex quinquefasciatus ***:Mosquito larvae were exposed to the extracts selected as per standard WHO ***(glucose),total lipid and protein were estimated by the methods as Nelson,Bragdon and Lowry described, ***:The glucose levels were increased to 27.87%and 46.8%,respectively in anopheline larval tissues after treatment with petroleum ether extract of *** and methanolic extract of *** culicine larvae,glucose levels were reduced to 58.96%and 24.65%, *** treatment with *** extract,lipid contents in anopheline and culicine larvae decreased by 28.57%and 25.0%,respectively and increased by 14.29%and 50.00%in the Anopheles and Culex larvae,respectively after treatment with methanolic extract of Az. *** protein levels were reduced to 63.13%and 92.62%in anopheline and to 32.39%and 48.12%in culicine larvae after treatment with *** and *** extracts,respectively. Conclusions:Two extracts produce significant alterations in the biochemical pr of iles of anopheline and culicine ***,the impacting factors of extracts on carbohydrate,lipid and protein contents of larvae are species and specific *** indicates the disturbed metabolic activity of the larvae.

The present work presents an iin silicoi analysis of Upstream Regulatory Modules (URMs) of genes expressed in tapetum specific manner in dicotyledon and monocotyledon plants. In the current analysis, we identified several motifs conserved in these URMs of which ten were observed to be part of known icisi-elements using tools and databases like MEME, PLACE, MAST and TFSEARCH. We also identified that binding sites for two transcription factors, DOF and WRKY71 were found to be present in majority of the URMs.

The present study was undertaken to evaluate in-vitro antioxidant and anthelmintic activity of ethanolic and aqueous extract from whole plant Sida cordifolia Linn (Malvaceae). The antioxidant activities are evaluated by various antioxidant assays like α, α-Diphenyl-β-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging, total reducing power, nitric oxide scavenging and hydrogen peroxide scavenging. The various antioxidant activities were compared to standard antioxidants such as ascorbic acid. The antioxidant activity of ethanolic extract is almost quantitatively equivalent to that of the standards used, ascorbic acid. The further anthelmintic activity of whole plant is investigated through using Indian earthworm (Pheretima posthuma) showed that it is one of the most important local medicinal plants both for ritual and ethnomedical practices. Various concentrations of ethanol and aqueous extract (10, 20, 30, 40 mg/ml) of whole plant of Sida cordifolia Linn were tested in the bioassay, which involve determination of time of paralysis of the worms. Albendazole was included as reference standard. The most activity was observed with aqueous extract as compared to standard drug. The results from the above studies indicate that plant Sida cordifolia Linn. possesses potent antioxidant and anthelmintic activity.

Direct numerical simulations of square particle sedimentation in a viscous incompressible fluid are presented to examine the effects of sharp edges for various particle-to-fluid density ratios and different initial inclination *** settling process exhibits four different motion regimes;non-oscillatory,non-uniform centered oscillatory,uniform off-centered oscillatory,and non-uniform off-centered(irregular)*** moderate density ratios,we observe that the rotational motion of settling square particle varies with the initial inclination *** employ Dynamic Time Warping and Fast Fourier Transform to analyze translational and angular *** systems are described using phase-space plots,and a chaotic phenomenon is observed at a higher density ratio.

Numerous experimental and theoretical observations have concluded that the probability of the three fragment emission(ternary fission)or binary fission increases when one proceeds towards the heavy mass region of nuclear periodic *** factors affect fragment emission,such as the shell effect,deformation,orientation,and fissility *** and ternary fissions are observed for both ground and excited states of the *** collinear cluster tripartition(CCT)channel of the^(235)U(n^(th),f)reaction is studied,and we observe that the CCT may be a sequential or simultaneous emission *** date,different approaches have been introduced to study the CCT process as a simultaneous or sequential process,but the decay dynamics of these modes have not been not fully *** the three fragments of the sequential process and exploring their related dynamics using an excitation energy dependent approach would be of further ***,in this study,we investigate the sequential decay mechanism of the^(235)U(n^(th),f)reaction using quantum mechanical fragmentation theory(QMFT).The decay mechanism is considered in two steps,where initially,the nucleus splits into an asymmetric *** the second step,the heavy fragment obtained in the first step divides into two *** I analysis is conducted by calculating the fragmentation potential and preformation probability for the spherical and deformed choices of the decaying *** most probable fragment combination of stage I are identified with respect to the dips in the fragmentation structure and the corresponding maxima of the preformation probability(P0).The light fragments of the identified decay channels(obtained in step I)agree closely with the experimentally observed *** excitation energy of the decay channel is calculated using an iteration *** excitation energy is shared using an excitation energy dependent level density *** obtained excitation

The Himalayan region has been experiencing stark impacts of climate change,demographic and livelihood pattern *** analysis of land use and land cover(LULC)change provides insights into the shifts in spatial and temporal patterns of *** changes are the combined effects of anthropogenic and natural/climatic *** present study attempts to monitor and comprehend the main drivers behind LULC changes(1999-2021)in the Himalayan region of Pithoragarh district,*** district is a border district,remotely located in the north-east region of Uttarakhand,*** study draws upon primary and secondary data sources.A total of 400 household surveys and five group discussions from 38 villages were conducted randomly to understand the climate perception of the local community and the drivers of *** imagery,CRU(Climatic Research Unit)climate data and climate perception data from the field have been used to comprehensively comprehend,analyze,and discuss the trends and reasons for LULC *** and remote sensing techniques were used to construct LULC *** multifaceted approach ensures comprehensive and corroborated *** classes were identified and formed viz-cultivation,barren,settlement,snow,and *** show that vegetation and builtup have increased whereas cultivation,barren land,and snow cover have *** study further aims to elucidate the causes behind LULC changes in the spatially heterogeneous region,distinguishing between those attributed to human activities,climate shifts,and the interconnected impacts of *** study provides a comprehensive picture of the study area and delivers a targeted understanding of local drivers and their potential remedies by offering a foundation for formulating sustainable adaptation policies in the region.

Hydrogen spillover effect has recently garnered a lot of attention in the field of electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reactions. A new avenue for understanding the dynamic behavior of atomic migration in which hydrogen atoms moving on a catalyst surface was opened up by the setup of the word"hydrogen spillover."However, there is currently a dearth of thorough knowledge regarding the hydrogen spillover effect. Currently, the advancement of sophisticated characterization procedures offers progressively useful information to enhance our grasp of the hydrogen spillover effect. The understanding of material fabrication for hydrogen spillover effect has erupted. Considering these factors, we made an effort to review most of the articles published on the hydrogen spillover effect and carefully analyzed the aspect of material fabrication. All of our attention has been directed toward the molecular pathway that leads to improve hydrogen evolution reactions performance. In addition, we have attempted to elucidate the spillover paths through the utilization of DFT calculations. Furthermore, we provide some preliminary research suggestions and highlight the opportunities and obstacles that are still to be confronted in this study area.

Coaxial plasma guns are a type of plasma source that produces plasma which propagates radially and axially controlled by the shape of the ground electrode, which has attracted much interest in several applications. In this work, a 120° opening angle of CPG nozzle is used as a plasma gun configuration that operates at the energy of 150 J. The ionization of polyethylene insulator between the electrodes of the gun produces a cloud of hydrogen and carbon *** triple Langmuir probe and Faraday cup are used to measure plasma density and plasma temperature. These methods are used to measure the on-axis and off-axis plasma divergence of the coaxial plasma gun. The peak values of ion densities measured at a distance of 25 mm on-axis from the plasma gun are(1.6±0.5)×10^(19)m^(-3)and(2.8±0.6)×10^(19)m^(-3)for hydrogen and carbon plasma respectively and the peak temperature is 3.02±0.5 eV. The mean propagation velocity of plasma is calculated using the transit times of plasma at different distances from the plasma gun and is found to be 4.54±0.25 cm/μs and 1.81±0.18 cm/μs for hydrogen and carbon plasma respectively. The Debye radius is obtained from the measured experimental data that satisfies the thin sheath approximation. The shot-to-shot stability of plasma parameters facilitates the use of plasma guns in laboratory experiments. These types of plasma sources can be used in many applications like plasma opening switches, plasma devices, and as plasma sources.

In the current scenario,dysmenorrhea is a very frequent gynecological condition among *** least one in every four women suffers from severe abdominal cramps,which are referred to as dysmenorrhea or menstrual ***,in this review we compile the data from several reviews and research papers about dysmenorrhea,its pathogenesis,along with all treatment *** was found in a survey that normally women treated these cramps with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines or oral contraceptives,but lately it was found that these medications have a 20%to 25%failure rate as well as unpleasant side ***,in this review,we concluded all the possible treatments,including pharmacological treatment,non-pharmacological treatment,and herbal treatments for *** women are looking for alternatives to conventional treatments,such as the use of herbs,vitamins,minerals,nutritional supplements,analgesics,anti-inflammatory agents,and aromatherapy agents,which can have a significant impact when taken on a regular *** active constituents of these medicinal plants help the body fight cramps and pain associated with menstruation,as well as alleviate these issues in the most calming and effective way possible.
