The response of a micropolar thermoelastic medium possessing cubic symmetry with two relaxation times due to time harmonic sources is investigated. Fourier transform is employed and the transform is inverted by using a numerical inversion technique. The components of displacement, stress, microrotation and temperature distribution in the physical domain are obtained numerically. The results of normal displacement, normal force stress, tangential couple stress and temperature distribution are compared for micropolar cubic crystal and micropolar isotropic solid. The numerical results are illustrated graphically for a particular material. Some special cases are also deduced.

The analytic expressions for the displacement components and stresses at a point of an orthotropic micropolar elastic medium with an overlying elastic half space as a result of moving inclined load of arbitrary orientation were obtained. The inclined load was assumed to be a linear combination of a normal load and a tangential load. The eigen value approach using Fourier transforms was employed and the transform was inverted by using a numerical *** numerical results were illustrated graphically for aluminium epoxy composite.

Renewable energy-based solar photovoltaic(pV)generation is the best alternative for conventional energy sources because of its natural abundance and environment friendly *** power extraction from the pV system plays a critical role in increasing the efficiency of the solar power generation during partial shading conditions(pSCs).Therefore,a suitable maximum power point tracking(MppT)technique to track the maximum power point(Mpp)is of high need,even under *** paper presents an organized and concise review of MppT techniques implemented for the pV systems in literature along with recent publications on various hardware design *** classification is done into four categories,***,intelligent,optimal,and hybrid depending on the tracking algorithm utilized to track Mpp under *** uniform insolation,classical methods are highly preferred as there is only one peak in the p-V ***,under pSCs,the F-V curve exhibits multiple peaks,one global maximum power point(GMpp)and remaining are local maximum power points(LMpp’s).Under the pSCs,classical methods fail to operate at GMpp and hence there is a need for more advanced MppT *** MppT technique has its advantages and limits,but a streamlined MppT is drafted in numerous parameters like sensors required,hardware implementation,cost viability,tracking speed and tracking *** study provides the advancement in this area since some parameter comparison is made at the end of every classification,which might be a prominent base-rule for picking the most gainful sort of MppT for further research.

dryland degradation has long been recognized at regional,national,and global scales,yet there are no objective assessments of its location and *** assessment of reductions in net primary production(Npp)due to dry land degradation in the southwestern United States is *** local Npp scaling(LNS)approach was applied to map the extent and magnitude of degrada *** seeks to identifty reference sites in which there is no degradation that can be used as a standard for comparison with other sites that share the same environment,except for *** years were analyzed(2000--2011),using Normalized difference Vegetation Index(NdVI)data(250 m)from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MOdIS)satellite-borne multispectral *** results indicated that the total Npp reductions in the study area were about35.9±4.7Tg C/yr,which equates to 0.31±0.04 Mg C·ha^(-1)· yr^(-1).The Npp reductions in grassland-savanna and livestock grazing areas were large and mostly consistent between years in spite of large variations in overall Npp caused by differences in land-use,interannual variations in rainfall,and other aspects of *** comparison with other cover types,forested land generally had higher Npp reduction per unit *** maps also enable attribution of degradation from the finest management units to entire agencies,such as the Bureau of Land Management,which had 50%less production per unit area than the *** *** degradation within Native American land was low with total Npp reduction of about 2.41±0.24 Tg C/yr and unit area reduction of productivity of just 0.21±0.02 Mg C·ha^(-1)·yr^(-1),yet the percent reduction from potential was in equivalence with other land management agencies.

Variation in polyphenolics and Antioxidant Activity of Traditional Apple Cultivars from West Himalaya,Uttarakhand

Apple(Malus × domestica) is largely known for polyphenolic and antioxidant properties; however, systematic investigation in the apple growing in the Indian Himalayan region is not carried out. The present study therefore, attempts to quantify polyphenolics and antioxidant activities in three traditional apple cultivars namely 'Benoni', 'Fanny' and 'Rymer' growing at different locations of Uttarakhand(west Himalaya), *** revealed that phenolic(0.94–7.00 mg GAE·g^(-1)FW), flavonoid(1.02–9.86 mg QE·g^(-1)FW), flavonol(0.77–6.92 mg CE·g^(-1) FW), tannin(15.49–37.99 mg TAE·g^(-1) FW) and antioxidant activity(ABTS, 3.10–67.36; dppH, 4.99–14.06; FRAp, 4.70–39.21 mmol AAE·kg^(-1)FW) varied significantly among the cultivars and maximum content was recorded in Rymer fruits of Mukhwa location. Altitude showed significant(p positive relationship with total phenolic(r = 0.895), flavonoid(r = 0.843), flavonol(r = 0.812), ABTS(r = 0.856) and FRAp activity(r = 0.830). Based on the results, it is concluded that among three cultivars, Rymer is one of the most promising sources of polyphenolic content and antioxidant activity and therefore, recommended for mass plantation at suitable locations in Uttarakhand for harnessing maximum potential.

Background:diurnal changes can be defined as the time of the day over an individual's performance level for different activities that involve physical and mental ***:The current study aimed to evaluate the effect of diurnal changes in scores obtained for the dichotic Consonant-Vowel paradigm by young adults with normal hearing ***:Based on the‘Morningness-Eveningness questionnaire’given by Horne&Ostberg,the subjects were divided into moderately-morning,intermediate and moderately-evening *** dichotic Consonant-Vowel tests were performed during morning and evening,and the right ear,left ear and double correct scores were compared between morning and evening for each ***:There was significant diurnal changes noted for moderately morning and evening categories,where morning-type individuals performed better during morning and evening-type individuals performed better during the *** scores of intermediate individuals remained unchanged between morning and evening test ***:diurnal change is a phenomenon associated with an individual's biological clock ***,attention and inhibitory controls aid them in carrying out tasks that require sufficient physical and mental *** current study suggests that clinicians and researchers consider diurnal changes as an extraneous variable that could affect the reliability of the dichotic Consonant-Vowel test results.

ZnSe nanoparticles have been synthesized by microwave assisted method by using zinc chloride,selenium powder and ethylene *** synthesized nanoparticles have been characterized structurally by FT-IR and XRd as well as morphological characterization was done by scanning electron microscope(SEM).The crystallite size after synthesis was obtained around 30 nm for pure ZnSe ***,from SEM micrograph,agglomerated ZnSe nanoparticles of irregular shapes were *** as-synthesized ZnSe nanoparticles at different contents(1 to 5%w/w w.r.t SpI)were incorporated into soy protein isolate(SpI)to produce reinforced SpI films by solution casting *** ZnSe nanoparticles incorporated SpI suspensions were subjected to molecular mass and specific conductivity *** and ZnSe nanoparticles incorporated SpI films were structurally and mechanically characterized by FT-IR and tensile properties,*** and water uptake studies were also carried out for ZnSe nanoparticles incorporated SpI *** tensile strength and modulus increased from 5.80 Mpa to 10.06 Mpa and 18.84 Mpa to 94.70 Mpa with the increase in the contents of ZnSe nanoparticles from 0 to 5%.Moreover,the results also revealed a good antibacterial effect in ZnSe nanoparticles incorporated SpI *** main application of nanoparticles incorporated SpI film will be in the area of biodegradable packaging.

Oxidative Stressand Antioxidant Responses in Young Leaves of Mulberry plants Grown Under Nitrogen, phosphorus or potassium deficiency

The aim of this study was to associate the generation of reactive oxygen species （ROS） with Induced antloxidant responses and disturbed cellular redox environment in the nitrogen-（N）, phosphorus-（p）, or potassium-（K） deftcient mulberry （Morus alba L. var. Kanva-2） plants. The indicators of oxidative stress and cellular redox environment and antioxldant defense-related parameters were analyzed. Oeficlency of N, p or K suppressed growth, accelerated senescence, and decreased concentrations of chloroplastic pigments and glutathione. Lipid peroxidation and activities of superoxide dismutase, ascorbate peroxidase and glutathione reductase were also increased in these N, p, or K deprived plants. Concentration of hydrogen peroxide Increased in plants deficient in N or p. Oeficlency of N or p particularly altered the cellular redox environment as indicated by changes in the redox couples, namely ascorbic acid/total ascorbate decreased in p-, glutathione sulfydryl/total glutathione decreased in N-, and Increased in p-deficient plants. Activity staining of native gels for superoxide dismutase revealed Increased activity as Indicated by Increased intensity of bands, and induction of few new isoforms in p- and K-deficient plants. Oifferences in the patterns of superoxide dismutase isoforms and redox status （ascorbic acid/total ascorbate and glutathlone sulfydryl/total glutathione） Indicate that N-, p-, or K-deficiency altered antioxidant responses to varying extents in mulberry plants.
