In order to deliver a complete reliable software product, testing is performed. As testing phase carries on, cost of testing process increases and it directly affects the overall project cost. Many a times it happens that the actual cost becomes more than the estimated cost. Cost is considered as the most important parameter with respect to software testing, in software industry. In recent year’s researchers have done a variety of work in the area of Cost optimization by using various concepts like Genetic Algorithm, simulated annealing and Automation in generation of test data etc. This paper proposes an efficient cost effective approach for optimizing the cost of testing using Tabu Search (TS), which will provide maximum code coverage along with the concepts of Dijkstra’s Algorithm which will be implemented in Aspiration criteria of Tabu Search in order to optimize the cost and generate a minimum cost path with maximum coverage.

Defensins are endogenous antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) produced by professional phago- cytes, Paneth cells, and epithelial cells at mucosal surfaces, which mediate innate immunity through their potent antimicrobial activity in the intestinal tract. In addition, defensins also regulate the function of diverse host immune cells, thereby play an important role in both innate and adaptive immune responses against pathogenic microbes. Abundant evidences have proved that attenuated changes in defensins expression are observed in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Further studies have discovered the concentration of different defensins subgroups has the relationship with various clinical characteristics of IBD and that mucosal surface destruction causes defensins deficiency as a result of in- flammatory damage. This article is to review new current approaches on defensins expression in the intestinal mucosa, particularly in IBD and their potential roles in immune responses in the gut mucosa.

Comparison between static and dynamic warm-up exercise regimes on lower limb muscle power

Aim: The purpose of this study was to compare static and dynamic warm-up regimes on lower limb muscle power and thereby the perform-ance of the individual. Methodology: Twenty eight (28) subjects were assigned into groups consisting of 2 members. From each group, 1 subject performed the static stretching and the other subject performed dynamic stretching as warm-up. This was followed by non-counter movement jumps on a force platform and the vertical jump heights were recorded. Data were analysed using one-way ANOVA and paired t-test at 0.05 alpha. Result: The results showed that dynamic stretching as warm-up causes significant increase (p=0.01) in the vertical jump height as compared to static stretching (p=0.03). Discussion: The increase in vertical jump height could be related to the increase in force pro-duction which plays an important role during the vertical jump test. On the other hand the decrease in vertical jump height following static stretching could be attributed to a decrease in the force production in the muscles. Conclusion: Dynamic warm-up increases the vertical lump height, whereas static stretching decreases the jump height of the athlete.

Sustainable Production of Microbial Lipids from Lignocellulosic Biomass Using Oleaginous Yeast Cultures

Microbial lipids derived from oleaginous yeast could be a promising resource for biodiesel and other oleochemical materials. The objective of this study was to develop an efficient bioconversion process from lignocellulosic biomass to microbial lipids using three types of robust oleaginous yeast: T. oleaginosus, L. starkeyi, and C. albidus. Sorghum stalks and switchgrass were utilized as feed-stocks for lipid production. Among oleaginous yeast strains, T. oleaginous showed better performance for lipid production using sorghum stalk hydrolysates. Lipid titers of 13.1 g·L-1 were achieved by T. oleaginosus, using sorghum stalk hydrolysates with lipid content of 60% (wt·wt-1) and high lipid yield of 0.29 g·g-1, which was substantially higher than the value reported in literature. Assessment of overall lipid yield revealed a total of 14.3 g and 13.3 g lipids were produced by T. oleaginosus from 100 g of raw sorghum stalks and switchgrass, respectively. This study revealed that minimization of sugar loss during pretreatment and selection of appropriate yeast strains would be key factors to develop an efficient bioconversion process and improve the industrial feasibility in a lignocellulose-based biorefinery.

We developed a global,30-m resolution dataset of percent tree cover by rescaling the 250-m MOderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)Vegetation Continuous Fields(VCF)Tree Cover layer using circa-2000 and 2005 Landsat images,incorporating the MODIS Cropland Layer to improve accuracy in agricultural *** Landsat-based estimates maintained consistency with the MODIS VCF in both epochs(RMSE=8.6%in 2000 and 11.9%in 2005),but showed improved accuracy in agricultural areas and increased discrimination of small forest *** lidar measurements,the Landsat-based estimates exhibited accuracy slightly less than that of the MODIS VCF(RMSE=16.8%for MODIS-based vs.17.4%for Landsat-based estimates),but RMSE of Landsat estimates was 3.3 percentage points lower than that of the MODIS data in an agricultural *** Landsat data retained the saturation artifact of the MODIS VCF at greater than or equal to 80%tree cover but showed greater potential for removal of errors through calibration to lidar,with post-calibration RMSE of 9.4%compared to 13.5%in MODIS *** for free download at the Global Land Cover Facility(GLCF)website(***),the 30-m resolution GLCF tree cover dataset is the highest-resolution multi=temporal depiction of Earth’s tree cover available to the Earth science community.

On the Stationary Convection of Thermohaline Problems of Veronis and Stern Types

The stability of thermohaline convection problems of Veronis and Stern types for stationary convection is studied for quite general nature of boundaries. It is shown by means of an appropriately chosen linear transformation, that in case of stationary convection the equations describing the eigenvalue problem for thermohaline convection problems are identical to equations describing the eigenvalue problem for classical Bénard convection problem. As a consequence, the values of the critical Rayleigh numbers for the onset of stationary convection in thermohaline convection problems are obtained. Also, necessary conditions for the validity of principle of exchange of stabilities for thermohaline convection problems are derived using variational principle.

In software industry the major problem encountered during project scheduling is in deciding what proportion of the resources has allocated to the testing phase. In general it has been observed that about 40%-50% of the resources need to be allocated to the testing phase. However it is very difficult to predict the exact amount of effort required to be allocated to testing phase. As a result the project planning goes haywire. The project which has not been tested sufficiently can cause huge losses to the organization. This research paper focuses on finding a method which gives a measure of the effort to be spent on the testing phase. This paper provides effort estimates during pre-coding and post-coding phases using neural network to predict more accurately.
