In the present work, attempts have been made to extend the use of the tribological and chemical properties of rutile-TiO2 to metallic alloy systems, by forming a rutile coating on the metallic substrates. Two metallic alloys were selected in this study, including AISI316L austenitic stainless steel and aluminium alloy. The rutile-based coatings were fabricated by magnetron sputter deposition of a pure titanium coating first, and then thermal oxidation of the coated specimens to partially convert the titanium coating to rutile oxide and to promote interfacial reactions which can significantly enhance the coating-substrate adhesion strength. The structures and properties of the coating-substrate systems were characterized by a variety of analytical and experimental techniques, including X-ray diffraction, glow discharge spectrometry, high resolution SEM, nanoindentation, microscratch, friction and wear testing, as well as electrochemical testing. The results show that the friction and wear properties, as well as the corrosion resistance of the metallic alloys can be significant enhanced by surface engineering with rutile-TiO2.

Structural and dielectric properties of polycrystalline samples of lead-free （l-x）（Nal/2Bil/2）TiO3-xZnO, prepared using a high-temperature solid-state reaction method, were investigated in the composition range of 0≤x≤0.10. Rietveld analyses of X-ray diffraction data indicated the formation of a single-phase hexagonal structure with R3c symmetry. Williamson-Hall approach was applied to estimate the apparent particle size and lattice strain of the compounds. Temperature dependence of dielectric constant showed that the addition of ZnO to （Na1/2Bi1/2）TiO3 shifted the phase transition temperature towards higher side, a property favourable for practical applications of these ceramics. Further, temperature dependent permittivity data provided low temperature coefficient of capacitance （TCC〈8%） up to 100℃. Furthermore, a decrease in the value of dielectric loss with an increase in ZnO content was observed.

The type 2 immune response is critical for host defense against large parasites such as *** the other hand,dysregulation of the type 2 immune response may cause immunopathological conditions,including asthma,atopic dermatitis,rhinitis,and ***,a balanced type 2 immune response must be achieved to mount effective protection against invading pathogens while avoiding *** classical model of type 2 immunity mainly involves the differentiation of type 2 T helper(Th2)cells and the production of distinct type 2 cytokines,including interleukin-4(IL-4),IL-5,and *** 2 innate lymphoid cells(ILC2s)were recently recognized as another important source of type 2 *** eosinophils,mast cells,and basophils can also express type 2 cytokines and participate in type 2 immune responses to various degrees,the production of type 2 cytokines by the lymphoid lineages,Th2 cells,and ILC2s in particular is the central event during the type 2 immune *** this review,we discuss recent advances in our understanding of how ILC2s and Th2 cells orchestrate type 2 immune responses through direct and indirect interactions.

Adipose derived stem cells represent a readily available source of adult stem cells for various biomedical applications. In this study, the proliferation and osteogenic differentiation potential of lanthanum nitrate（La3＋） on human adipose derived mesenchymal stem cells（hADSCs） were investigated for the first time and compared with that of dexamethasone（Dex）. Our results provided evidence that La3＋ at 50 μmol/L concentration promoted proliferation of hADSCs upto 2.4 fold when treated for 21 d in DMEM medium. Treatment of hADSCs with La3＋ containing osteogenic induction medium（α-MEM with ascorbic acid and β-glycerophosphate） for 7 d resulted in higher calcium deposition than that in the presence of Dex（0.1 μmol/L） as shown by Alizarin red S and von Kossa staining. Scanning electron micrographs also showed more extracellular matrix mineralization in the presence of La3＋. After 7 d of treatment with La3＋（10 μmol/L） the expression of RunX2, osteopontin（OP） and osteocalcin（OC） increased 3.4, 5.5 and 2.7 fold respectively. Our results provided evidence that in the presence of La3＋ osteogenic differentiation occurred earlier than that in the presence of Dex.

Dyeing wastewater containing methyl orange (MO) could be effectively discolored by schorl-catalyzed Fenton-like system. Experimental results indicated that the MO discoloration ratios could be increased by increasing schorl dosage, temperature, initial H2O2 concentration, and by decreasing solution pH. When the raw schorl and the schorl samples sintered at 750°C, 850°C, 950°C and 1050°C were used as catalyst in Fenton-like system, the MO discoloration ratios obtained were 82%, 31%, 30%, 31% and 7%, respectively. XRD results showed that samples sintered at 750°C, 850°C and 950°C had no change in structure and still held the crystal structure of schorl and quartz, but, the content of schorl crystal decreased. Whereas, schorl crystal completely disappeared in the sample sintered at 1050°C and two new crystal phases of hematite and spinel were formed, which resulted in disappearance of the spontaneous ‘electrostatic poles’. Hence, it was inferred that the electrostatic field of schorl crystal could enhance the MO discoloration by schorl-catalyzed Fenton-like reaction.

As other natural iron-bearing minerals, schorl could be taken as an effective iron source for degradation of organic pollutants by mineral-catalyzed Fenton-like system. In our present study, the schorl-catalyzed Fenton-like system has been successfully developed for discoloration of an active commercial dye, Rhodamine B (RhB), in an aqueous solution. Through a number of batch discoloration experiments under various conditions, it was found that the reactivity of the system increased by, respectively, increasing schorl dosage, temperature, hydrogen peroxide starting concentration and by decreasing the pH. Over 90% of discoloration ratio could be gained in less than 30 min, and nearly 70% of total organic carbon (TOC) could be removed in less than 200 min. And, the schorl catalyst could be repeatedly used at least ten times, still with high catalytic activity. Comparative studies indicated that the RhB discoloration ratios were much higher in presence of schorl and H2O2 than those in presence of schorl or H2O2 only, which suggested that the schorl-catalyzed Fenton-like reaction governed the RhB discoloration process. The content of Fe ion leaching in the solution was also measured using inductively coupling plasma-atomic emission spectra (ICP-AES). A mechanism proposed herein suggested that adsorption and Fenton-like reaction (heterogeneous and homogeneous) were responsible for the discoloration of RhB.

The investigation was done to evaluate the effect of moisture content on some physical properties of Lagenaria siceraria *** study was conducted at five moisture levels including 8.84%,10.10%,11.89%,12.60%and 15.10%(w.b.).Results showed that the mean value of principal dimensions,average diameters,surface area and 1000 seed mass increased linearly but aspect ratio decreased with increase in moisture *** sphericity increased in the moisture range of 8.84%to 11.89%but decreased with further raise in the moisture up to 15.10%.Gravimetric properties like bulk density increased with increase in moisture content however true density and porosity decreased linearly with increase in moisture *** of repose and terminal velocity increased linearly with moisture content of the *** coefficient of friction increased linearly with seed moisture content on five experimental surfaces(plywood,galvanized iron,glass and plastic).The information pertaining to moisture dependant physical properties of Lagenaria siceraria seeds may become an essential part in design of processing machines and its unit operations,design of dehulling,oil expression and other processing equipments.

This paper presents the results of the performance of piezoelectric cantilever beams in relation to their *** total produced power represents the main indicator of performance of a piezoelectric harvesting system while the area of the beams stays *** design is an important aspect in any industry,mainly in the *** this study,the effects of non-uniformity on the efficiency and power output are *** element method(FEM)with the application of superconvergent element(SCE)is adopted here to solve the *** is observed that the trapezoidal geometry(converging beam)provides a higher output power while the efficiency ***,in order to prove that the power enhancement is achievable while the amount of piezoelectric material consumed is constant the new configuration is *** the configuration,an array of uniform beams connected in series is used instead of one single rectangular *** proposed setting generates an output power of 1.817mWat a resonant frequency of 284.6 Hz when excited by an input acceleration of 1 *** only challenge is the fundamental frequency difference which ismet with the application of proof mass and thinner substrate and piezoelectric layers.

Compressed natural gas（CNG）is most appropriate an alternative of conventional fuel for ***,emissions of carbon-monoxide and methane from such vehicles adversely affect human health and ***,to abate emissions from CNG vehicles,development of highly efficient and inexpensive catalysts is ***,the present work attempts to scan the effects of precipitants（Na2CO3,KOH and urea）for nickel cobaltite（Ni Co2O4）catalysts prepared by co-precipitation from nitrate solutions and calcined in a lean CO-air mixture at 400℃.The catalysts were used for oxidation of a mixture of CO and CH4（1：1）.The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffractometer,Brunauer–Emmett–Teller surface-area,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy;temperature programmedreductionandScanningelectronmicroscopycoupledwith Energy-Dispersive X-Ray *** Na2CO3was adjudged as the best precipitant for production of catalyst,which completely oxidized CO-CH4mixture at the lowest temperature（T（100）=350℃）.Whereas,for catalyst prepared using urea,T（100）=362℃.On the other hand the conversion of CO-CH4mixture over the catalyst synthesized by KOH limited to 97%even beyond 400℃.Further,the effect of higher calcination temperatures of 500 and600℃ was examined for the best *** total oxidation of the mixture was attained at higher temperatures of 375 and 410℃ over catalysts calcined at 500 and 600℃ ***,the best precipitant established was Na2CO3and the optimum calcination temperature of 400℃ was found to synthesize the Ni Co2O4catalyst for the best performance in CO-CH4oxidation.
