Effect of Process Parameters on Morphology and Grain Refinement Efficiency of TiAl_3 and TiB_2 in Alumimum Casting

This paper presents the effects of different process parameters in producing Al-STi-1B grain refiner,*** sequences and reaction time,on grain refinement efficiency of aluminum *** was found that different process parameters resulted in different morphology and size distribution of TiAl-3 and TiB-2 in grain refiner. The experiment was carried out by adding KBF-4 and K-2TiF-6 to molten *** melting temperature was controlled at 800℃in an electric resistance *** different sequences of KBF-4 and K-2TiF-6 additions were applied,i.e.,adding KBF-4 before K-2TiF-6,adding K-2TiF-4 before KBF-4 and mixing both KBF-4 and K-2TiF-6 before adding to molten *** different holding time at 1 min,30 min and 60 min were *** results showed that no significant difference of morphology and size distribution was found by varying three different ***,the different holding time provided major differences in both morphology and size distribution,which are technically expectable from diffusion and agglomeration between particles resulting in larger particle size and wider range of size distribution of TiAI3 and *** the reaction time was longer than 30 rain,morphology of both TiAl-3 and TiB-2 became too *** the reaction time was too short,less reaction between TiAl-3 and TiB2 to form would be *** grain refinement efficiency, it was found that mixing KBF-4 and K-2TiF-6 before adding to molten aluminum with a holding time of 30 min resulted in best grain refinement efficiency.

Effect of Conventional and Pulsed TIG Welding on Microstructural and Mechanical Characteristics of AA 6082-T6 Repair Welds

Repair welding of AA 6082-T6 joints was carried out using ER 4043 filler through the TIG welding process with or without pulsed *** and mechanical characteristics of the joints before and after repairing were investigated by examining macrostructure,microstructure,and distributions of porosity in the weld metal(WM),and by hardness,tensile,and bending *** observed that the welding current,phase transformations in heat-affected zone(HAZ)and porosity introduced in the WM during welding influence on its mechanical properties in *** experimental results showed that the bead width and penetration as well as size of pores in the joints were mainly influenced by the welding *** sound joints were obtained at a welding current of 140 A with or without pulsed current when welding speed and gas flow rate were set at 20 cm·min-1 and 15 L·min-1,*** them,the decrease in mechanical properties of repair weld(RW)was directly related to the phase transformations in the over-ageing zone due to the double welding thermal cycles and elevated distribution of porosity in the *** addition,it was observed that the comparatively smaller grain size and lower porosity in WM of the RW produced by pulsed TIG welding gave a positive effect on its mechanical properties.

Effect of Post-weld Heat Treatment on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Friction Stir Welded SSM7075 Aluminium Alloy

7XXX series aluminium alloys generally present low weldability by fusion welding methods because of the sensitivity to weld solidification cracking, vaporization of strengthening alloys and other defects in the fusion zone. Friction stir welding（FSW） can be deployed successfully with aluminium alloys. We presented the effect of post-weld heat treatment（PWHT） on the microstructure and mechanical properties of SSM7075 joints. Semi solid plates were butt-welded by FSW at a rotation speed of 1110 r/min, welding speeds of 70 and 110 mm/min. Solution treatment, artificial aging, and T6（solution treatment and artificial aging combined） were applied to the welded joints, each with three samples. It was found that the T6 joints at the speed of 70 mm/min yielded the highest tensile strength of 459.23 MPa. This condition best enhanced the mechanical properties of FSW SSM7075 aluminium alloy joints.

An integrative approach to enhancing small-scale poultry slaughterhouses by addressing regulations and food safety in northern -Thailand

Background:In Asian countries,small-scale rural poultry meat production can face challenges due to food safety policies that limit economic growth and hinder improvement of sanitation and disease *** this study,an integrative,participatory research approach was used to elucidate the sanitation and disease prevention practices in small-scale poultry slaughterhouses in rural northern ***:Initial steps included the identification of key stakeholders associated with the meat production chain,development of a research framework,and design of a methodology based on stakeholder *** framework and methodology combine issues in five major areas:(1)public health,(2)socioeconomics,(3)policy,(4)veterinary medicine,and(5)communities and the *** used include questionnaires,direct observation,focus groups,and in-depth *** addition,a microbiological risk assessment approach was employed to detect Salmonella contamination in meat processing *** microbial risk assessment was combined with stakeholder perceptions to provide an overview of the existing situation,as well as to identify opportunities for upgrading slaughterhouses in order to more effectively address matters of food safety,processing,and government ***:The conceptual framework developed elucidated the complex factors limiting small-scale slaughterhouse improvement including a lack of appropriate enabling policies and an apparent absence of feasible interventions for *** slaughterhouse management was reflected in the incidence of Salmonella contamination in both the meat and the surrounding ***:There is potential for the use of an integrative approach to address critical problems at the interface of rural development and public *** findings of this study could serve as a model for transdisciplinary studies and interventions related to other similar complex challenges.

Conservative management of cervical pregnancy with intramuscular administration of methotrexate and KCl injection: Case report and review of the literature

We report the case of a cervical pregnancy successfully treated with intramuscular injection of methotrexate(MTX) and intramniotic administration of potassium chloride. A 41-year-old woman was admitted to our Department with the suspicion of ectopic pregnancy. Transvaginal ultrasound revealed empty endometrialcavity, gestational sac within the cervical canal and embryonic echo measuring crown rump length 1.5 mm. Serum beta human chorionic gonadotropine(β-HCG) was measured 28590 IU/L. No cardiac activity was detected. The diagnosis of a cervical pregnancy was made. Patient was treated with intramuscular administration of methotrexate(50 mg/m2) in combination with ultrasoundguided intramniotic injection of KCl(2 meq/mL). Gradual decrease of β-HCG levels as well as ultrasound observation of collapsed gestational sac was observed. No curettage was necessitated. Patient was discharged on day 10 th and was set in follow-up on a weekly basis. β-HCG values were measured < 10 IU/L on 56 th day after MTX administration. Intramuscular administration of MTX may be effective in treatment of cervical pregnancy without additional interventional measures.

Predicting Influence of Social Media Exposure on Drinking Intention among Thai Youths

New face drinkers and social media use gain popularity among adolescents in Thailand. Previous studies support relationships between exposures to marketing communications on alcohol consumption. This study proposed to examine influence of exposure to social media and drinking intention. Participants comprised of 2,565 students grade 4th-12th from randomly selected 11 provinces across Thailand. Drinking intention was at moderate level for students who ever drink （mean = 3.66, SD = 1.06）, low level among never drink （mean = 2.43, SD = .81）, and overall students （mean = 2.85, SD = 1.08）. The ever drink group were moderately communicated through Facebook （mean = 3.17, SD = 1.56） and Line （mean = 2.53, SD = 1.58）. Regression analysis revealed weak but significant relationship of social media that explain 1.3%-5.2% of drinking intention among Thai students. Therefore, more study is needed to effectively understand and regulate the use of social media and prevention or delaying youth from using alcohol.

Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumours in the reproductive system. They are proliferations of smooth muscle cells of the myometrium containing a large quantity of extracellular matrix and they are surrounded by a pseudo capsule of compressed areolar tissue and smooth muscle cells. They can cause various symptoms such as menorrhage, pain and infertility and therefore they can be a traumatic experience for several women. The treatment of choice is myomectomy. In the past, myomectomy was performed by relatively atraumatic techniques, which involved stretching the myoma from its pseudocapsule to extract the fibroid directly from the surrounding fibromuscular tissue, breaking up the fibrous bridge. Modern laparoscopic intracapsular myomectomy (LIM), however, leaves the fibrovascular network surrounding the myoma (namely the “fibroid neurovascular bundle”) intact which reduces the bleeding and/or uterine musculature trauma, and spares the neuropeptide fibers of the pseudocapsule. In this observational study, we compare the two techniques-laparoscopic intracapsular myomectomy (LIM) and conventional abdominal myomectomy (CAM) regarding the longterm uterine healing and a significantly faster healing process of the uterine incision was achieved by LIM compared to CAM.
