Development and Validation of a Method for Simultaneous Determination of Metformin Hydrochloride and Sitagliptin Phosphate in a Formulation by RP-HPLC

Present study was aimed to develop and validate a reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography method for simultaneous determination of sitagliptin phosphate and metformin hy-drochloride in a mark.ted formulation. The drug separation was performed on Hibar-240, Li-chrosphere-100 C18 ODS (250 × 4.6 mm, 5 μm) column, at a flow rate of 1 mL/min. The mobile phase used was a mixture of methanol: potassium di-hydrogen phosphate buffer at a ratio of 70:30 v/v. The detection was carried out at a wavelength of 266 nm. The retention times of sitagliptin phosphate and metformin hydrochloride were found as 6.1 and 4.9 min respectively. Linear calibration curves with good correlation coefficients were obtained over the concentration ranges of 10 - 50 μg/mL for sitagliptin and 20 - 100 μg/mL for metformin. The limit of detection was 0.016 and 0.14 μg/mL and the limit of quantification was 0.048 and 0.42 μg/mL for sitagliptin phosphate and metformin hydrochloride respectively. Validation of the method demonstrated system selectivity, specificity, linearity, accuracy and precision. The developed method was found useful in the simultaneous analysis of sitagliptin phosphate and metformin hydrochloride in formulation.

Pigeonpea [Cajanus cajan (L.) Millspaugh] is an important food legume of the semi-arid tropics (SAT) sustaining livelihood of millions of people. Stagnant and unstable yield per hectare all over the world is the characteristic feature of this crop. This is primarily ascribed to its susceptibility/sensitivity to a number of biotic and abiotic factors. Among biotic factors, insects such as pod borer (Helicoverpa armigera), pod fly (Melanoagromyza obtusa) and spotted borer (Maruca vitrata) substantially damage the crop and result in significant economic losses. Management of these insects by genetic means has always been considered environment friendly approach. However, genetic improvement has always been impeded by limited genetic variability in the primary gene pool of pigeonpea. Wild species present in the secondary and tertiary gene pools have been reported to carry resistance for such insects. However, transfer of resistance through conventional back.rossing has not been much successful. It calls for gene introgression through mark.r assisted back.rossing (MABC) or advanced back.ross breeding (AB breeding). A new stable numerical method,based on Chebyshev wavelets for numerical evaluation of Hank.l transform,is proposed in this *** Chebyshev wavelets are used as a basis to expand a part of the integrand,r f(r),appearing in the Hank.l transform *** transforms the Hank.l transform integral into a Fourier-Bessel *** truncating the series,an efficient and stable algorithm is obtained for the numerical evaluations of the Hank.l transforms of order ν>−*** method is quite accurate and stable,as illustrated by given numerical examples with varying degree of random noise terms εθ_(i) added to the data function f(r),where θ_(i) is a uniform random variable with values in[−1,1].Finally,an application of the proposed method is given for solving the heat equation in an infinite cylinder with a radiation condition.

The sugar beet root rot and Bayoud disease, respectively caused by Sclerotium rolfsii and Fusarium oxysporum albedinis, are major agricultural problems in Morocco, affecting its economical and social conditions. As of now, no effective control method of these phytopathogens is available. Therefore the search for new efficient and ecologically undamaging fungicides was essential. The present study reports the antifungal activity of five organic extracts of Corrigiola telephiifolia Pourr., a Moroccan medicinal plant, against these fungi using mycelial growth inhibition assays （in vitro）. The extracts concentration varied from 0.01 to 1 ***. Also, preliminary information on the chemical composition of the extracts is included. The results showed a difference in sensitivity of both fungi toward the plant extracts. The mycelia growth of Sclerotium rolfsii was concentration and time-dependant. It was mark.dly inhibited by the polar extracts especially at high dose （p〈 0.001）. While Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. albedinis was much less sensitive.

The current work.is being done to investigate the flow of nanofluids across a porous exponential stretching surface in the presence of a heat source/sink.thermophoretic particle deposition,and *** collection of PDEs(partial differential equations)that represent the fluid moment is converted to a system of ODEs(ordinary differential equations)with the use of suitable similarity variables,and these equations are then numerically solved using Runge k.tta Fehlberg and the shooting *** different physical limitations,the numerical results are visually *** results show that increasing the porosity characteristics reduces *** mass transfer decreases as the thermophoretic limitation *** in the porosity parameter reduce sk.n friction,increases in the solid volume fraction improve the rate of thermal distribution,and increases in the thermophoretic parameter increase the rate of mass transfer.

Back.round: Patient setup errors in External Beam Radiotherapy (EBRT) are minimized to a great extent, due to recent technological developments but in contrary brachytherapy received least attention in inter-fraction catheter movement and its impact in dose delivery. This article deals with inter-fraction interstitial catheter movement and its impact in dose delivery to the target. An attempt is made to study the dosimetric impact of this variation. Objectives: The objective of the study is to evaluate the inter-fraction variation in the position of implanted interstitial applicators and to assess the dosimetric impact in interstitial High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy. Materials and Methods: 55 patients treated for carcinoma tongue, breast, buccal mucosa, cervix, floor of mouth and soft tissue sarcoma over a period of 2 years (December 2011-May 2013) were considered. All the patients underwent CT scan on the next day of the implant and 3D planning was done either by Eclipse or Oncentra Master plan Treatment Planning System (TPS). Patients were treated by HDR brachytherapy remote after-loading units, either by Gamma Med iX plus or Microselectron. At the end of the last fraction, CT scan was repeated and re-planning done. The variation in position of the implanted applicators/catheters and its impact on dosimetric parameters were evaluated and analyzed. Results: The range of positional displacement of the interstitial catheters ranges from 4.5 mm to 6.8 mm. The maximum variation in prescribed dose to D90 of Clinical Target Volume was 10.88%. Conclusions: If the total duration of interstitial implant of HDR brachytherapy extends for more than a week.from the day of imaging, it is recommended to do CT imaging and re-plan again. It is mandatory to suture the buttons of the implant to the sk.n. Edema and movement of organs (e.g., tongue) are the main cause for the positional variation of the catheters.

Purpose: To introduce an advanced muscle hook.to decrease risk. and create more feasible extraocular muscle surgeries for physicians. Case Report: Tight extraocular muscles during strabismus surgery could be extremely challenging even in experienced hands due to restricted globe rotation, limited view, and lack.of muscle elasticity. Although a variety of surgical instruments have been introduced through the years, traditional muscle hook. such as the Jameson hook.are largely unchanged and are bulk. and cumbersome. Using the traditional muscle hook.under situations such as pediatric strabismus surgery with smaller eyes and extraocular muscles may increase the risk.of perforating the globe or even rupturing the muscles. We developed the “Suh muscle hook., which has a 0.55 mm wide grooved track.in a 1.1 mm wide horizontal bar, a semi-sharp dissecting tip, and a 30-degree bending near the handle accommodating for nasal bridge to better facilitate surgeons dealing with tight extraocular muscles and minimize risk. during strabismus surgery.

We note that the Single Stage Single Period Multi Commodity Warehouse Location Problem (SSSPMCWLP) has been first attempted by Geoffrion and Graves [1], and that they use the weak.formulation (in context of contribution of this paper). We give for the first time “strong” formulation of SSSPMCWLP. We notice advantages of strong formulation over weak.formulation in terms of better bounds for yielding efficient Branch and Bound solutions. However, the computation time of “strong” formulation was discovered to be higher than that of the “weak. formulation, which was a major drawback.in solving large size problems. To overcome this, we develop the hybrid strong formulation by adding only a few most promising demand and supply side strong constraints to the weak.formulation of SSSPMCWLP. So, the formulations developed were put to test on various large size problems. Hybrid formulation is able to give better bound than the weak.and tak.s much less CPU time than the strong formulation. So, a k.nd of trade off is achieved allowing efficiently solving large sized SSSPMCWLP in real times using hybrid formulation.
