Bianchi type-Ⅲ string cosmological models with bulk viscous fluid for massive string are investigated. To obtain the determinate model of the universe, we assume that the coeffcient of bulk viscosity ξ is inversely proportional to the expansion θ in the model and expansion θ in the model is proportional to the shear g. This leads to B =lC^n, where l and n are constants. Behaviour of the model in the presence and absence of bulk viscosity is discussed. The physical implications of the models are also discussed in detail.

Large-scale slope destabilization could be aggravated due to swift urbanization and ever-rising demands of geoengineering projects such as dams,tunnels,bridges and widening *** Highway-58 connects Delhi to Badrinath in India,which passes through complex geomorphological and geological terrain and often encounters cut slopes susceptible to slope *** the present investigation,a detailed geotechnical appraisal is conducted along the road cut slopes from Rishikesh to Devprayag in the *** vulnerable road cut slopes were demarcated for detailed slope stability analysis using Phase2D finite element modeling *** generalized Hoek-Brown(GHB)criterion was adopted for stability *** of 20 slopes,five slopes(S6,S7,S18,S19 and S20)are unstable with factor of safety(FoS)less than or equal to 1,and thus needs immediate *** FoS values of four slopes(S2,S9,S13 and S17)lie between 1 and 1.3,*** stable,and slopes S1,S3,S4,S5,S8,S10,Sll,S12,S14,S15 and S16 are ***-Coulomb(MC)criterion was also adopted to compare the slope stability analysis with GHB *** FoS calculated from GHB criterion is close to that using MC criterion for lower values of FoS whereas for higher values,the difference is *** the jointed rock in the Himalayan region,the nonlinear GHB criterion gives better results as compared to MC criterion and matches with the prevailing field ***,some suggestions are proposed to strengthen the stability of cut slopes.

In the present study,Sm^(3+)activated inorganic orthophosphate CsMgPO_(4)(CSMP)phosphors were prepared by adopting a solid-state reaction *** structural phase purity and morphological features were studied by X-ray powder diffraction(XRD)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM),*** molecular structure and vibrational modes were substantiated with the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)and Raman spectroscopy *** optical bandgap of the host and Sm^(3+)doped phosphors was deduced from the diffused reflectance(DR)spectra with a typical value of 5.72 eV and a small variation is observed with increasing concentrations.A systematic study of photoluminescence(PL)properties of Sm^(3+)doped CSMP phosphors was carried *** the room temperature excitation and emission spectra,it is found that the phosphor emits in the orange rich red light under the suitable excitation of 402 nm in the UV region and concentration quenching occurs at x=0.02 doping *** emission peaks observed at around 562,598 and 644 nm confirm the characteristic Sm^(3+)4 f-4 f *** temperature-dependent photoluminescence(TD-PL)of the x=0.02(optimum doping)is recorded from 30 to 210℃,showing good thermal stability even at 150℃.The thermal quenching mechanisms are discussed based on the configuration coordinate model of excitation and *** prepared phosphors are found to exhibit near thermal stability compared to the commercially available red *** decay time and quantum efficiency were *** colour coordinates are found to lie in the orangish-red region of the colour *** the prepared phosphors CSMP:x Sm^(3+)can be useful as a red component in designing UV excitable chip-based phosphor-converted white LED applications.

Myrmechis bakhimensis D. Maity,N. pradhan & G. G. Maiti (Orchidaceae),a new species from Sikkim Himalaya,is described and illustrated. The new species most closely resembles M. japonica (Reichb.) Rolfe and M. chinensis Rolfe with similar shape and size of lamina and the “T”-shaped epichile,but differs by the perfectly glabrous and eciliate floral bract,5-nerved dorsal sepal,and emarginate,mucronate epichile.

The use of terrestrial laser scanning（TLS） in the caves has been growing drastically over the last ***, TLS application to cave stability assessment has not received much attention of *** study attempted to utilize rock surface orientations obtained from TLS point cloud collected along cave passages to（1） investigate the influence of rock geostructure on cave passage development, and（2）assess cave stability by determining areas susceptible to different failure types. The TLS point cloud was divided into six parts（Entry hall, Chamber, Main hall, Shaft 1, Shaft 2 and Shaft 3）, each representing different segments of the cave passages. Furthermore, the surface orientation information was extracted and grouped into surface discontinuity joint sets. The computed global mean and best-fit planes of the entire cave show that the outcrop dips 290° with a major north-south strike. But at individual level, the passages with dip angle between 26° and 80° are featured with dip direction of 75°-322°. Kinematic tests reveal the potential for various failure modes of rock slope. Our findings show that toppling is the dominant failure type accounting for high-risk rockfall in the cave, with probabilities of 75.26%, 43.07%and 24.82% in the Entry hall, Main hall and Shaft 2, respectively. Unlike Shaft 2 characterized by high risk of the three failure types（32.49%, 24.82% and 50%）, the chamber and Shaft 3 passages are not suffering from slope failure. The results also show that the characteristics of rock geostructure considerably influence the development of the cave passages, and four sections of the cave are susceptible to different slope failure types, at varying degrees of risk.
