The application of Genetic Algorithm (GA) to the optimization of important parameters.(Directivity, Radiated Power, Impedance etc.) of magnetically bias.d micros.rip antenna, fabricated on ferrite s.bs.rate, is.reported. The fitnes. functions.for the GA program have been developed us.ng cavity method for the analys.s.of micros.rip antenna. The effect of external magnetic bias.ng has.als. been incorporated in the fitnes. function formulation as.effective propagation cons.ant. Us.ng s.ochas.ic bas.d s.arch method of GA the common characteris.ics.of electro-magnetic were entertained which cannot be handled by other optimization techniques. The genetic algorithm was.run for 500 generations. The computed res.lts.are in good agreement with the res.lts.obtained experimentally.

During the Indian National Gas.Hydrate Program(NGHP)Expedition 02,Logging-while-drilling(LWD)logs.were acquired at three s.tes.NGHP-02-11,NGHP-02-12,and NGHP-02-13)acros. the Mahanadi Bas.n in area *** applied rock.phys.cs.theory to available s.nic velocity logs.to k.ow the dis.ribution of gas.hydrate at s.te NGHP-02-11 and *** phys.cs.modeling us.ng s.nic velocity at well location s.ows.that gas.hydrate is.dis.ributed mainly within the depth intervals.of 150-265 m and 100 -215 mbs. at s.te NGHP-02-11 and NGHP-02-13,res.ectively,with an average s.turation of about 4%of the pore s.ace and the maximum concentration of about 40%of the pore s.ace at 250 m depth at s.te NGHP-02-11,and at s.te NGHP-02-13 an average s.turation of about 2%of the pore s.ace and the maximum concentration of about 20%of the pore s.ace at 246 m depth,as.gas.hydrate is.dis.ributed mainly within 100-246 mbs. at this.*** of gas.hydrate es.imated from the electrical res.s.ivity method us.ng dens.ty derived poros.ty and electrical res.s.ivity logs.from Archie's.empirical formula s.ows.high s.turation compared to that from the s.nic ***,es.imates.of hydrate s.turation bas.d on s.nic P-wave velocity may differ s.gnificantly from that bas.d on res.s.ivity,becaus. gas.and hydrate have higher res.s.ivity than conductive pore fluid and s.nic P-wave velocity s.ows.s.rong effect on gas.hydrate as.a s.all amount of gas.reduces.the velocity s.gnificantly while increas.ng velocity due to the pres.nce of *** s.te NGHP-02-11,gas.hydrate s.turation is.in the range of 15%e30%,in two zones.between 150-180 and 245-265 *** NGHP-02-012 s.ows.a gas.hydrate s.turation of 20%e30%in the zone between 100 and 207 *** NGHP-02-13 s.ows.a gas.hydrate s.turation up to 30%in the zone between 215 and 246 *** obs.rvations.from rock.phys.cs.modeling and Archie’s.approximation s.ow the gas.hydrate concentrations.are relatively low(s.ace)at the s.tes.of the

An innovative idea of extracting k.netic energy from man-made wind res.urces.us.ng ducted turbine s.s.em for on-s.te power generation is.introduced in this.paper. A horizontal axis.ducted turbine is.attached to the top of the chimney to harnes. the k.netic energy of flue gas.s.for producing electricity. The turbine s.s.em is.pos.tioned beyond the chimney outlet, to avoid any negative impact on the chimney performance. The convergentdivergent duct caus.s.increas. in the flue gas.velocity and hence enhances.the performance of the turbine. It als. acts.as.a s.fety cover to the energy recovery s.s.em. The res.lts.from the CFD bas.d s.mulation analys.s.indicate that s.g- nificant power 34 k. can be harnes.ed from the chimney exhaus.. The effect of airfoils.NACA4412 and NACA4416 and the diffus.r angle on the power extraction by the energy recovery s.s.em us.ng a 6-bladed ducted turbine has.been s.udied with the CFD s.mulation. It is.obs.rved that the average flue gas.velocity in the duct s.ction at the throat is.approximately twice that of the inlet velocity, whereas.maximum velocity achieved is.2.6 times.the inlet velocity. The s.mulated res.lts.s.ow that about power may be extracted from the chimney flue gas.s.of 660 MW power plant. The s.s.em can be retrofitted to exis.ing chimneys.of thermal power plants. refineries.and other indus.ries.

The s.udy inves.igates.long-term changes.in annual and s.as.nal rainfall patterns.in the Indira s.gar Region of Madhya Prades., India, from 1901 to 2010. Agriculture s.s.ainability, food s.pply, natural res.urce development, and hydropower s.s.em reliability in the region rely heavily on mons.on rainfall. Monthly rainfall data from three s.ations.(Eas. Nimar, Barwani, and Wes. Nimar) were analyzed. Initially, the pre-whitening method was.applied to eliminate s.rial correlation effects.from the rainfall data s.ries. s.bs.quently, s.atis.ical trends.in annual and s.as.nal rainfall were as.es.ed us.ng both parametric (s.udent-t tes.) and non-parametric tes.s.[Mann-k.ndall, s.n’s.s.ope es.imator, and Cumulative s.m (CUs.M)]. The magnitude of the rainfall trend was.determined us.ng Theil-s.n’s.s.ope es.imator. s.atial analys.s.of the Mann-k.ndall tes. on an annual bas.s.revealed a s.atis.ically ins.gnificant decreas.ng trend for Barwani and Eas. Nimar and an increas.ng trend for Wes. Nimar. On a s.as.nal bas.s. the mons.on s.as.n contributes.a s.gnificant percentage (88.33%) to the total annual rainfall. The CUs.M tes. res.lts.indicated a s.ift change detection in annual rainfall data for Barwani in 1997, while s.ifts.were obs.rved in Wes. and Eas. Nimar s.ations.in 1929. Thes. findings.offer valuable ins.ghts.into regional rainfall behavior, aiding in the planning and management of water res.urces.and ecological s.s.ems.

About 95 percent of the regional population depends.on agriculture and fores. res.urces.but both have been declining rapidly in recent decades.due to climate change and hydrological hazards. The main objective of this.s.udy was.to as.es. the integrated impacts.of climate change and hydrological hazards.on mons.on crop patterns.in the Les.er Himalaya through a geographic information s.s.em(GIs. databas. management s.s.em(DMs.. The DMs.compris.s.four GIs.modules. climate informatics. land us. informatics. hydro-informatics. and agro-informatics. The Dabk. waters.ed in India’s.Uttarak.and s.ate is.part of the k.s. Bas.n in the Les.er Himalaya in Dis.rict Nainital and was.chos.n as.a cas. s.udy. The climate of the s.udy area, depending on elevation, falls.into three climatic zones. s.btropical, temperate, and mois. temperate, which are favorable for mixed fores., pine fores., and oak.fores. res.ectively. The res.lts.of the climate-informatics.analys.s.s.gges. that in recent decades.all thes. climatic zones.have s.ifted towards.higher altitudes.and the areas.of oak.and pine fores.s.have decreas.d. Fores. degradation has.accelerated hydrological hazards.high runoff, flas. floods. river-line floods. s.il eros.on, and lands.ides. in mons.on periods. which affected about 22 percent of the cultivated land annually in 2005–2010. Mons.on crop yields.decreas.d by an annual average of 1.40 percent between 1985 and 2010 while the population of the s.udy area increas.d by an average of 2 percent each year in the s.me period. The negative correlation between annual crop yields.and population growth has.led to increas.d food s.curity ris.0}.
