The Effect of Super Volcanic Eruptions on Ozone Depletion in a Chemistry–Climate Model

With the gradual yet unequivocal phasing out of ozone depleting substances(ODSs), the environmental crisis caused by the discovery of an ozone hole over the Antarctic has lessened in severity and a promising recovery of the ozone layer is predicted in this century. However, strong volcanic activity can also cause ozone depletion that might be severe enough to threaten the existence of life on Earth. In this study, a transport model and a coupled chemistry–climate model were used to simulate the impacts of super volcanoes on ozone depletion. The volcanic eruptions in the experiments were the 1991 Mount Pinatubo eruption and a 100 × Pinatubo size eruption. The results show that the percentage of global mean total column ozone depletion in the 2050 RCP8.5 100 × Pinatubo scenario is approximately 6% compared to two years before the eruption and 6.4% in tropics. An identical simulation, 100 × Pinatubo eruption only with natural source ODSs, produces an ozone depletion of 2.5% compared to two years before the eruption, and with 4.4% loss in the tropics. Based on the model results,the reduced ODSs and stratospheric cooling lighten the ozone depletion after super volcanic eruption.

＜正＞Arginine kinase（AK） was previously reported as a phosphagen-ATP phosphotransferase found in *** this study,an 1469bp cDNA was cloned and sequenced from Scylla paramamosain（designated SpAK）.It contained an open reading frame of 1071bp that coded for 357 deduced amino acids of *** calculated molecular mass of SpAK is 40243.8 Da and PI is *** predicted protein showed a high level of identity to known AK in invertebrates and creatine kinase from vertebrates,which belong to a conserved family of ATP: guanidino *** SpAK gene contains only 2 exons and 1 *** quantitative real-time reverse transcription PCR analysis revealed a broad expression of AK with the highest expression in the stomach and hepatopancreas while the lowest in the thoracic ganglia. Diagnosing the environmental impacts of typical fatliquors in leather manufacture from life cycle assessment perspective

The environmental impacts of typical fatliquors were diagnosed by the life cycle assessment of industrial production and use(post-tanning)*** cycle impact assessment and sensitivity analysis showed that fatliquor and fatliquoring operation were the major contributors to the environmental impacts of post-tanning because a large amount of fatliquors was consumed during fatliquoring *** environmental impacts of fatliquors decreased in the following order:chlorinated paraffin(CP)>sulfonated rape oil(SNR)>sulfated rape oil(SR)>phosphated rape oil(pr)>oxidized-sulfited rape oil(OSR).Sulfuric acid,fuming sulfuric acid,and chlorine used for fatliquor modification gave the main contribution to most impact categories for SR,SNR,and CP production,whereas rape oil contributed the most for pr and OSR *** use process reduced the primary energy demand,abiotic depletion potential,and global warming potential by 38.5%,56.0%,and 48.5%,respectively,compared with CP use *** results suggested that biomass-derived fatliquors,especially oxidized-sulfited and phosphate modified fatiliquors,helped reduce the environmental burdens in leather manufacturing.

A new borate K3pr3（BO3）4 has been prepared using a high temperature flux method and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction *** crystallizes in triclinic system,space group ■ with a=9.0814（10）,b=10.8052（12）,c=14.0885（16）?,α=69.800（1）°,β=89.922（1）o,γ=89.892（1）°,V=1297.4（3）?3,Z=4,Mr=775.27,Dc=3.969 g/cm3,F（000）=1400,μ（MoKα）=12.11 mm-1,R（F2>2σ（F2））=0.028 and wR（F2）=***,the crystal of K3pr3（BO3）4 was twinned by pseudo-merohedry that is mimic monoclinic space group P2/*** structure of K3pr3（BO3）4 exhibits a three-dimensional（3D）network based on isolated anionic（BO3）3- units that are further bridged by K+and pr3+***,X-ray diffraction（XRD）,IRspectrum and photoluminescence（PL）properties were studied.

目的:探讨维奈克拉联合CACAG方案治疗难治/复发急性髓系白血病(R/R AML)的有效性和安全性。方法:本研究为前瞻性单臂临床研究,入组患者均符合R/R AML诊断标准。采用阿扎胞苷(75 mg/m^(2),d 1-7)、阿糖胞苷(75-100 mg/m^(2),q12h,d 1-5)... 详细信息

目的:探讨维奈克拉联合CACAG方案治疗难治/复发急性髓系白血病(R/R AML)的有效性和安全性。方法:本研究为前瞻性单臂临床研究,入组患者均符合R/R AML诊断标准。采用阿扎胞苷(75 mg/m^(2),d 1-7)、阿糖胞苷(75-100 mg/m^(2),q12h,d 1-5)、阿柔比星(20 mg,d 1、3和5)、西达本胺(30 mg,d 1和4)、维奈克拉(100 mg d 1,200 mg d 2,400 mg d 3-14,与唑类药物联用,减量为100 mg/d)、重组人粒细胞集落刺激因子(300μg/d,直至中性粒细胞恢复)的治疗方案,主要研究终点为1疗程后总反应率。结果:自2022年1月至2023年4月共入组19例患者,1个疗程后总反应率为81.3%(13/16),完全缓解率为68.8%(11/16),部分缓解率为12.5%(2/16),在11例获得完全缓解(CR/CRi)的患者中,达CRm 8例,未达CRm 3例。截至2023年3月27日,中位随访时间为111(19-406)d。6个月的总生存率和无进展生存率均为55.7%;1年的总生存率和无进展生存率分别为46.4%和47.7%。此外,相比于未达CRm组,CRm组患者具有较高的PFS(377 vs 111 d,P=0.046)。治疗相关不良反应主要是3-4级骨髓抑制,并发不同程度的感染(n=12)、低钾血症(n=12)、低钙血症(n=10)和肝酶升高(n=8)等,其中3-4级占比为47.4%(9/19)。结论:维奈克拉联合CACAG方案是R/R AML患者有效的挽救性治疗方案,缓解率高且安全性良好。

Influence of Si content on interface reaction of iron-based hot-dip aluminizing on Fe sheet

Based on the diffusion channel,the influence of Si content on the microstructure evolution of iron-based hot-dip Al-χSi coating was analyzed(χ=0,1.5 wt%,3.0 wt% and 7.0 wt%).The results show that the introduction of Si makes the reaction interface change from the lingual-tooth interface of hot-dip Al to the flat interface of hot-dip *** also reduces the thickness of the alloy layer in the coating,especially the Fe_(2)Al_(5) *** the Si content is 1.5 wt%or 3.0 wt%,the diffusion channel crosses the conjugate line of the two-phase region(FeAl_(3)+liquid phase)into the FeAl_(3) single-phase region,and then moves to the region with higher Si ***,the diffusion channel cuts off the conjugate line of FeAl_(3)phase,τ_(1)/τ_(9) phase,and Fe_(2)Al_(5)phase,which promotes the form ofτ_(1)/τ_(9) *** formedτ_(1)/τ_(9) phase inhibits the diffusion between Fe and Al *** the Si content is 7.0 wt%,the diffusion channel passes through the two-phase region(liquid phase+τ_(5))and enters theτ_(5) single-phase *** form ofτ_(5) single-phase region has a strong inhibitory effect on the interatomic diffusion of Fe and Al,thereby reducing the thickness of the coating,especially the Fe_(2)Al_(5)layer.

Elderly patients had more severe postoperative complications after pancreatic resection:A retrospective analysis of 727 patients

AIM To examine the impact of aging on the short-term outcomes following pancreatic resection(pr) in elderly *** A retrospective cohort study using prospectively collected data was conducted at the China National Cancer Center. Consecutive patients who underwent pr from January 2004 to December 2015 were identifiedand included. ‘Elderly patient' was defined as ones age 65 and above. Comorbidities, clinicopathology, perioperative variables, and postoperative morbidity and mortality were compared between the elderly and young patients. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed using the Cox proportional hazard model for severe postoperative complications(grades Ⅲb-Ⅴ).RESULTS A total of 454(63.4%) patients were proportional hazards model for severe postoperative complications, age ≥ 65 years [hazard ratio(HR) = 1.63; 95% confidence interval(CI): 1.18-6.30], body mass index ≥ 24 kg/m^2(HR = 1.20, 95%CI: 1.07-5.89), pancreaticoduodenectomy(HR = 4.86, 95%CI: 1.20-8.31) and length of operation ≥ 241 min(HR = 2.97; 95%CI: 1.04-6.14) were significant(P = 0.010, P = 0.041, P = 0.017 and P = 0.012, respectively).CONCLUSION We found that aging is an independent risk factor for severe postoperative complications after pr. Our results might contribute to more informed decision-making for elderly patients.

Natural killer(NK)cells have a vital role in killing hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)cells;however,the mechanism underlying tumor-infiltrating NK(TINK)-cell dysfunction remains poorly *** flow cytometry staining,we precisely characterized the frequency,phenotype and function of NK subsets distinguished by CD27 and CD11b in 30 patients with HCC in comparison to 30 healthy ***,we found a substantial proportion of liver-infiltrating CD11b−CD27−(DN)NK subsets in tumor tissue from HCC ***,these relatively expanded DN NK subsets exhibited an inactive and immature *** detecting the expression of CD107a and interferon-gamma(IFN-γ)on NK subsets and NK cells,we demonstrated that DN NK subsets exhibited a poor cytotoxic capacity and deficient potential to produce IFN-γin comparison to the other three subsets,which contributed to the dysfunction of TINK cells in HCC *** addition,we found that the presence of DN NK cells was closely associated with the clinical outcomes of HCC patients,as the frequency of DN NK cells among TINK cells was positively correlated with tumor stage and size.A large percentage of DN NK cells among TINK cells was an independent prognostic factor for lower survival in the 60-month follow-up *** conclusion,a substantial proportion of CD11b−CD27−NK subsets among TINK cells accounts for NK-cell dysfunction in patients with HCC and is associated with tumor *** study may provide a novel therapeutic target for the treatment of patients with HCC.
