The equatorial evergreen forests nourish the world’s biodiversity hotspots and are considered the lungs of the ***,their future survival is uncertain,due to anthropogenically increased carbon emissions and changes in the hydrological *** the changes in the hydrological cycle in the equatorial region due to an increase in carbon emission is of prime *** early Paleogene hyperthermal events are potential analogs to understand the consequences of high carbon emission on the hydrological *** this communication,we quantify the terrestrial seasonal climate using the plant proxy and infer that during the Eocene Thermal Maximum 2 when atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration was>1000 ppmv near the palaeo-equator(~0.6°N),the rainfall decreased significantly,leading to the expansion of deciduous *** study raises important questions about the future survival of equatorial rainforests and biodiversity hotspots under increased carbon emissions.

Visnagin is a furanochromone and one of the most important compound in the Ammi visnaga(L.)Lam(a synonym of Visnaga daucoides Gaertn.)plant,which is used to cure various *** investigations into the bioactive properties of visnagin have been studied to *** literature on visnagin demonstrates its biological properties,including anti-inflammatory,anti-diabetic,and beneficial effects in cardiovascular and renal ***,visnagin improves sperm quality parameters,stimulates steroidogenesis,and increases serum gonadotropins and testosterone levels,while decreasing proinflammatory cytokines,oxidative damage,genomic instability,and it modulates ***,visnagin has emerged as an exciting lead for further research,owing to its potential in various unmet clinical *** current review summarized its basic structure,pharmacokinetics,and pharmacological effects,focusing on its mechanisms of *** review will help to understand the potential of visnagin as an alternative treatment strategy for several diseases and provide insight into research topics that need further exploration for visnagin’s safe clinical use.

Anti-mycobacterial screening of five Indian medicinal plants and partial purification of active extracts of Cassia sophera and Urtica dioica

Objective:To find out the anti-mycobacterial potential of Cassia sophera(***),Urtica dioica(***),Momordica dioica,Tribulus terrains and Coccinia indica plants against multidrug resistant(MDR) strain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis(***).Methods:Plant materials were extracted successively with solvents of increasing *** extracts were screened for anti-mycobacterial activity against fast growing,non-pathogenic mycobacterium strain,Mycobacterium semegmatis,by disk diffusion *** active extracts were tested against MDR and clinical isolates of *** by absolute concentration and proportion *** active extracts were subjected to bio-autoassay on TLC followed by silica column chromatography for isolation of potential drug ***:Hexane extract of ***(HEUD) and methanol extract of ***(MECS) produced inhibition zone of 20 mm in disc diffusion assay and MIC of 250 and 125μg/mL respectively in broth dilution assay against Mycobacterium *** traction F2 from MECS produced 86%inhibition against clinical isolate and 60%inhibition against MDR strain of ***.F18 from HEUD produced 81%inhibition against clinical isolate and 60%inhibition against MDR strain of *** analysis indicated that anti-mycobacterial activity of MECS may be due to presence of alkaloids or flavonoids and that of HEUD due to ***:*** and *** plant extracts exhibited promising anti-mycobacterial activity against MDR strain of ***. This is the first report of anti-mycobacterial activity form *** study showed possibility of purifying novel anti-mycobacterial compound(s) from *** and ***.
