Synergy of remotely sensed data in spatiotemporal dynamic modeling of the crop and cover management factor

Soil erosion is a threat to the water quality constituents of sediments and nutrients and can cause long-term environmental *** important parameter to quantify the risk of soil loss from erosion is the crop and cover management factor(C-factor),which represents how cropping and management practices affect the rates and potential risk of soil *** developed remotely sensed data-driven models for dynamic predictions of C-factor by implementing dynamic land cover modeling using the SWAT(Soil and Water Assessment Tool)model on a watershed *** remotely sensed processed variables included the enhanced vegetation index(EVI),the fraction of photosynthetically active radiation absorbed by green vegetation(FPAR),leaf area index(LAI),soil available water content(AWC),slope gradient(SG),and ratio of area(AR)of every hydrologic response unit(HRU)to that of the total watershed,comprising unique land cover,soil type,and slope gradient characteristics within the Fish River catchment in Alabama,USA between 2001 and *** regressions,spatial trend analysis,correlation matrices,forward stepwise multivariable regression(FSMR),and 2-fold cross-validation were conducted to evaluate whether there were possible associations between the C-factor and EVI with the successive addition of remotely sensed environmental *** on the data analysis and modeling,we found a significant association between the C-factor and EVI with the synergy of the environmental factors FPAR,LAI,AWC,AR,and SG(predicted R^(2)(R^(2)_(pred))=0.51;R^(2)=0.68,n=3220,P<0.15).The results showed that the developed FSMR model constituting the non-conventional factors AWC(R^(2)_(pred)=0.32;R^(2)=0.48,n=3220,P<0.05)and FPAR(R^(2)_(pred)=0.13;R^(2)=0.28,n=3220,P=0.31)was an improved fit for the watershed *** conclusion,the union of dynamic variables related to vegetation(EVI,FPAR,and LAI),soil(AWC),and topography(AR and SG)can be utilized for spatiotemporal C-factor estimation and to mo

Comparison of FT-NIR and NIR for evaluation of phyisco-chemical properties of stored wheat grains

CZTS(Cu_(2)ZnSnS_(4)),a P-type semiconductor with a direct bandgap(1.2-1.7eV),earth-abundant,non-toxic,and has a large absorption coefficient makes it extremely useful in optoelectronics and light-harvesting *** this work,CZTS is prepared by an ingenious,cost-effective colloidal route using the‘hotinjection’method with the usage of different *** XRD and Raman spectroscopy shows the single-phase highly crystalline CZTS nanoparticles with kesterite *** TEM results show that the size of CZTS nanoparticles is about 2-5 nm and monodispersity is confirmed by DLS(Dynamic Light Scattering).FTIR confirms the presence of different ligands used in CZTS *** Uv-vis absorption shows the direct bandgap of *** contact angle study shows the hydrophobic nature of as-synthesized CZTS nanoparticles which were further ligand exchanged with L-cysteine hydrochloride to make it hydrophilic to study the photocatalytic degradation activity of organic pollutants and industrial waste in the *** photocatalysis experiments were performed under two conditions:(i)under bare sunlight(Intensity~900 W/m^(2))(ii)focussing the sample under the sunlight via converging lens(1800 W/m^(2)).The photocatalytic efficiencies were then compared and the best photocatalytic efficiency achieved under sunlight was 98.4%for organic pollutants and 75%for industrial waste via converging lens while the corresponding efficiencies with bare sunlight were 98.1% and 73% *** the best of the author’s knowledge,a rapid and highly efficient photocatalysis of CZTS NPs employing a converging lens for water-remediation without the usage of noble&transition-metals has been reported for the first time.

A Calcium Looping Process(CLP)is an emerging approach for Carbon Capture and Utilization(CCU).It is essentially a CO_(2) capture process that utilizes calcium oxide(CaO)as a sorbent for the removal of CO_(2).A concentrated stream of CO_(2)(96%)that is suitable for storage and reuse is produced in this *** objective of this work is to use mass and energy integration to couple CLP with industrial facilities and power plants in order to enhance industrial symbiosis and reduce cost via the chemical conversion of CO_(2) into value-added *** attention is given to plants that generate large amount of CO_(2) and/or provide excess heat that can be used in driving CLP.A case study is solved to assess the integration of CLP with candidate processes including power plants,cement production,gas-to-liquid(GTL)facility,and chemical plants for the production of ammonia,urea,polymer,methanol and acetic *** solution to the case study shows the merits integrating CLP with processing facilities.

PARP inhibitors: clinical development, emerging differences, and the current therapeutic issues

Following years in development, poly-adenosyl-ribose polymerase (PARP) inhibitors continue to advance the treatment of ovarian and breast cancers, particularly in patients with pathogenic BRCA mutations. Differences in clinical trial design have contributed to distinct indications for each of the PARP inhibitors. Toxicity patterns are also emerging that suggest agents differ in their normal tissue tolerance - beyond what might be expected by dose variations and/or exposure to prior treatment. PARP inhibitor resistance is an increasingly relevant issue as the drugs move to the forefront of advanced ovarian/breast cancer treatment, and is an active area of ongoing research. This review examines the PARP inhibitor clinical trials that have led to approved indications in ovarian and breast cancers, PARP inhibitor targets and pharmacological differences between the PARP inhibitors, emerging mechanisms of resistance, and key clinical questions for future development.

Synthesis and characterization of rare earth metal doped tungsten trioxide photocatalyst for degradation of Rhodamine B dye

Nowadays,it is concern for researchers that due to high recombination rate of photogenerated charge carriers in tungsten trioxide(WO_(3)) nanoparticles,the future applications are limited in the field of *** we attempt to synthesize tungsten trioxide nanoparticles with different doping concentrations of lanthanum i.e.2 wt%,4 wt%,6 wt% and 8 wt%.The synthesized samples were characterized by using various characterization techniques:X-ray diffraction(XRD),Raman spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),photoluminescence spectra(PL),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),energy dispersive X-ray(EDX) and UV-Vis ***_(3) retains its monoclinic structure even after doping which was confirmed by XRD *** helps to descry functional groups present in the *** size of nanoparticles was calculated by using *** confirms the absence of any impurity in the synthesized *** spectroscopy confirms the presence of a large number of imperfections induced in the lattice of WO_(3).The rate of recombination was analyzed by photoluminescence(PL) spectroscopy and is minimum in 4 wt% doping of *** optical bandgap was calculated using UV-Vis spectroscopy and becomes narrow along with the doping ***,it is found that doping of La in WO_(3) has considerably ameliorate the photocatalytic activity by reducing rate of recombination due to the trapping of electrons by defects introduced in the *** decolorization of Rhodamine B(RhB) dye was performed and the values of c/c_0 and rate constant(k) confirm that the 4 wt% doping shows maximum degradation *** kinetic study for photodegradation of Rhodamine B was done by using various kinetic models and results show that the reaction follows first order kinetics very ***,optimum doping of lanthanum increases the decolorization ability of WO_(3) towards RhB dye.

This work examines the physiologic basis of stress tolerance in bacterial strains of the genus Rhodanobacter that dominate in the acidic and highly metal contaminated near-source subsurface zone of the Oak Ridge Integrated Field Research Challenge(ORIFRC)*** of *** to levels of different stresses were studied in synthetic groundwater medium and R2A *** strains of ***,strains 2APBS1T and 116-2,tolerate low to circumneutral pH(4–8),high Uranium(1 mmol/L),elevated levels of nitrate(400 mmol/L)and high NaCl(2.5%).A combination of physiologic traits,such as growth at low pH,increased growth in the presence of high organics concentration,and tolerance of high concentrations of nitrate,NaCl and heavy metals is likely responsible for dominance of Rhodanobacter at the ORIFRC ***,extended incubation times and use of low carbon media,better approximating site groundwater conditions,are critical for accurate determination of stress *** study expands knowledge of the ecophysiology of bacteria from the genus Rhodanobacter and identifies methodological approaches necessary for acquiring accurate tolerance data.
