While the demand for deep ultraviolet(DUV)light sources is rapidly growing,the efficiency of current AlGaN-based DUV light-emitting diodes(LEDs)remains very low due to their fundamentally limited light-extraction efficiency(lee),calling for a novel lee-enhancing approach to deliver a real ***,we propose sidewall emission-enhanced(see)DUV LEDs having multiple light-emitting mesa stripes to utilize inherently strong transverse-magnetic polarized light from the AlGaN active region and three-dimensional reflectors between the *** see DUV LEDs show much enhanced light output power with a strongly upward-directed emission due to the exposed sidewall of the active region and Al-coated selective-area-grown n-type GaN *** devices also show reduced operating voltage due to better n-type ohmic contact formed on the regrown n-GaN stripes when compared with conventional ***,the proposed approach simultaneously improves optical and electrical *** addition,strategies to further enhance the lee up to the theoretical optimum value and control emission directionality are discussed.

Socialmedia such as Twitter is increasingly beingused as an effective platform to observe human behaviors in disastrous ***,uneven social media use among different groups of population in different regions could lead to biased consequences and affect disaster *** paper studies the Twitter use during 2017 Hurricane Harvey in 76 counties in Texas and *** seek to answer a fundamental question:did socialgeographical disparities of Twitter use exist during the three phases of emergency management(preparedness,response,recovery)?We employed a Twitter data mining framework to process the data and calculate two indexes:Ratio and *** analyses between the Ratio indexes and the social-geographical characteristics of the counties at the three phrases reveal significant social and geographical disparities in Twitter use during Hurricane *** with higher disasterrelated Twitter use in Harvey generally were communities having better social and geographical *** results of Twitter use patterns can be used to compare with future similar studies to see whether the Twitter use disparities have increased or *** research is also needed to examine the effects of Twitter use disparities on disaster resilience and to test whether Twitter use can predict community resilience.

Theatrical Hybridity, Thy Name Is Conflict： A Case Study on Holo Taiwan Residents Opera Troupe＇s Tai Tzu Fu Chou （The Prince＇s Vengeful Plan）

Holo Taiwan Residents Opera Troupe has produced a series of intercultural performances in Taiwan Residents Opera since the troupe adapted Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol＇s （1809-1852） The Government Inspector in 1996. In fact, there is a huge controversy over these intercultural performances which fuse western drama with traditional Taiwan Residents performing art because such a kind of theatrical hybridity lacks the spirit of the original and damages the aesthetics of native performing art practice. In 2002, Holo adapted William Shakespeare＇s Hamlet into a six-hour-long performance, Tai Tzu Fu Chou （The Prince＇s Vengeful Plan）, which the troupe tried to explore new source for traditional Taiwan Residents Opera and expected to bring something new to Taiwan Residents audience. However, The Prince＇s Vengeful Plan is considered ＂cultural collage＂ as well as an unsuccessful intercultural performance. Besides, The Prince＇s Vengeful Plan is accused to blaspheme Shakespeare because the performance merely maintains the frame of the original and distorts the spirit of the original. According to Rustom Bharucha, the most problematic aspect of intercultural performance is ＂de-historicizing tendency＂, and such a condition explains why Holo＇s The Prince＇s Vengeful Plan cannot transcend the original. In order to detect the problems of intercultural adaptation in Holo＇s The Prince Vengeful Plan, we cover the related issues in three aspects：（1） to discuss the development of Taiwan Residents Opera in Taiwan; （2） to explore the cultural conflicts when the text of the source culture is adapted into the performance of the target culture; and （3） to see how and why the spirit and aesthetics of Shakespeare＇s verses in Hamlet are distorted in Holo＇s theatrical adaptation. After that, we expect to conclude the impossibility of adapting Shakespeare＇s play into traditional Taiwan Residents Opera in the case of Holo＇s The Prince＇s Vengeful Plan.

An automatic analysis of financial figures is common way for investors to analyze financial reports. However, using solely financial statements does not represent the comprehensive financial story of a company. Recently, many people express their opinions and search for information on the Internet. The adoption of the Internet has generated another type of data for analysis, i.e. Google Index. The purpose of this research is to prove Google Index is a good indicator for investors to analyze companies’ status. In this study, random forest (RF) is used to investigate the relationship between company’s financial performance and financial ratios and Google Index. From the results of RF model, we can see Google trend also plays a major role in determining the company’s profit except the stock index and operating margin.

Flexible dielectric materials with environmental-friendly,low-cost and high-energy density characteristics are in increasing demand as the world steps into the new Industrial 4.0 *** this work,an elastomeric nanocomposite was developed by incorporating two components:cellulose nanofibrils(CNFs)and recycled alum sludge,as the reinforcement phase and to improve the dielectric properties,in a bio-elastomer *** and alum sludge were produced by processing waste materials that would otherwise be disposed to landfills.A biodegradable elastomer polydimethylsiloxane was used as the matrix and the nanocomposites were processed by casting the materials in Petri *** extraction and heat treatment of alum sludge were conducted and characterized using various techniques including scanning electron microscopy(SEM),thermogravimetric analysis/derivative thermogravimetric(TGA/DTG)and X-ray diffraction(XRD)*** preparing the nanocomposite samples,various amount of alum sludge was added to examine their impact on the mechanical,thermal and electrical *** have shown that it could be a sustainable practice of reusing such wastes in preparing flexible,lightweight and miniature dielectric materials that can be used for energy storage applications.

Objective： To investigate the effects of Chang-ChuI-Eui-Ee-ln-Tang （苍术薏苡仁汤, CCEET）, modified CCEET （MCCEET）, and Semen Coicis （SC, a major component of CCEET） on energy and glucose homeostasis. The possible mechanism of action of CCEET was also determined. Methods： A total of 100 Sprague Dawley female rats were randomly assigned to 5 groups, with 20 in each group. Rats in 4 groups were fed with a high fat diet supplementation （2 g/kg body weight）, and water extracts of CCEET, MCCEET, SC, and cellulose （negative control）, respectively. The last group was fed with a low-fat diet as a positive control. Results： CCEET and MCCEET decreased body weight and body fat （mesenteric and retroperitoneal fat） more than SC. This decrease was due to decreased energy intake and increased energy expenditure and fat oxidation. The improvement in energy homeostasis was associated with the enhancement of the hypothalamic leptin signalling pathway involving potentiating the phosphorylation of the signal transducer and activator of transcription-3, as well as attenuating the phosphorylation of 5＇ adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase （AMPK）. Both CCEET and MCCEET improved glucose tolerance without changing serum insulin levels during an oral glucose tolerance test but MCCEET had a better effect than CCEET. Conclusions： Both CCEET and MCCEET safely exerted anti-obesity effects by enhancing energy balance in female rats with diet-induced obesity; MCCEET showed a better effect on glucose homeostasis.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze sleep stages accurately using fast and simple classifiers based on the frequency domain of electroencephalography(EEG) signal. To compare and evaluate system performance, the rules of Rechtschaffen and Kales(R&K rule) were used. Parameters were extracted from preprocessing process of EEG signal as feature vectors of each sleep stage analysis system through representatives of back propagation algorithm and support vector machine (SVM). As a result, SVM showed better performance as pattern recognition system for classification of sleep stages. It was found that easier analysis of sleep stage was possible using such simple system. Since accurate estimation of sleep state is possible through combination of algorithms, we could see the potential for the classifier to be used for sleep analysis system.

Mosaic Membrane是一次关于材料的试验,设计师以皮肤般的形态来呈现马赛克瓷砖,并通过三维形式将之打造成家具。对于边角石料的再利用而言,制作成马赛克瓷砖是一种可持续的选择。为了尽可能地减少材料,设计师还采用了掏空手法。Tiffany Loy与Friul Mosaic的合作,也基于在纺织品和马赛克材料在流动性方面的相似研究。最后呈现出的作品化刚为柔,极具流动的美感。
