Lower back pain is one of the most common medical problems in the world and it is experienced by a huge percentage of people *** to its ability to produce a detailed view of the soft tissues,including the spinal cord,nerves,intervertebral discs,and vertebrae,Magnetic Resonance Imaging is thought to be the most effective method for imaging the *** semantic segmentation of vertebrae plays a major role in the diagnostic process of lumbar *** is difficult to semantically partition the vertebrae in Magnetic Resonance Images from the surrounding variety of tissues,including muscles,ligaments,and intervertebral discs.U-Net is a powerful deep-learning architecture to handle the challenges of medical image analysis tasks and achieves high segmentation *** work proposes a modified U-Net architecture namely MU-Net,consisting of the Meijering convolutional layer that incorporates the Meijering filter to perform the semantic segmentation of lumbar vertebrae L1 to L5 and sacral vertebra ***-colour mask images were generated and used as ground truth for training the *** work has been carried out on 1312 images expanded from T1-weighted mid-sagittal MRI images of 515 patients in the Lumbar spine MRI Dataset publicly available from Mendeley *** proposed MU-Net model for the semantic segmentation of the lumbar vertebrae gives better performance with 98.79%of pixel accuracy(PA),98.66%of dice similarity coefficient(DsC),97.36%of Jaccard coefficient,and 92.55%mean Intersection over Union(mean IoU)metrics using the mentioned dataset.

Bio-inspired helicoidal composite laminates, inspired by the intricate helical structures found in nature, present a promising frontier for enhancing the mechanical properties of structural designs. Hence, this study provides a comprehens.v. investigation into the nonlinear free vibration and nonlinear bending behavior of bio-inspired composite plates. The inverse hyperbolic shear deformation theory(IHsDT) of plates is employed to characterize the displacement field, with the incorporation of Green-Lagrange nonlinearity. The problem is modeled using the C0finite element method(FEM), and an in-house code is developed in the MATLAB environment to solve it numerically. various helicoidal layup configurations including helicoidal recurs.v.(HR), helicoidal exponential(HE), helicoidal semi-circular(Hs), linear helicoidal(LH), and Fibonacci helicoidal(FH)with different layup sequences and quasi-isotropic configurations are studied. The model is.v.lidated, and parametric studies are conducted. These studies investigate the effects of layup configurations, side-to-thickness ratio, modulus ratios, boundary conditions, and loading conditions at different load amplitudes on the nonlinear vibration and nonlinear bending behaviors of bio-inspired composite plates. The results show that the laminate sequence exerts a substantial impact on both nonlinear natural frequencies and nonlinear bending behaviors. Moreover, this influence varies across different side-to-thickness ratios and boundary conditions of the bio-inspired composite plate.

A macroscopic model of the magnetoresistance effect in fimited anisotropic semiconductors is built. This model allows us to solve the problem of measurement of physical magnetoresistance components of crystals and films. Based on a unified mathematical model the method is worked out enabling us to measure tensor components of the specific electrical resistance and the relative magnetoresistance of anisotropic semiconductors simultaneously.

The present paper deals with the numerical analysis of tall reinforced concrete chimneys with piled raft foundation subjected to along-wind loads considering the flexibility of soil. The analysis was carded out using finite element method on the basis of direct method of soil-structure interaction （ssI）. The linear elastic material behavior was assumed for chimney, piled raft and soil. Four different material properties of soil stratum were selected in order to study the effect of ssI. The chimney elevation and the thickness of raft of piled raft foundation were also varied for the parametric study. The chimneys were assumed to be located in terrain category 2 and subjected to a maximum wind speed of 50 m/s as per Is：875 （Part 3）-1987. The along-wind loads were computed according to Is：4998 （Part 1）-1992. The base moments of chimney evaluated from the s sI analysis were compared with those obtained as per Is：4998 （Part 1）-1992. The tangential and radial bending moments of raft of piled raft foundation were evaluated through ssI analysis and compared with those obtained from conventional analysis as per Is：I 1089-1984, assuming rigidity at the base of the raft foundation. The settlements of raft of piled raft foundation, deflection of pile and moments of the pile due to interaction with different soil stratum were also evaluated. From the analysis, considerable reduction in the base moment of chimney due to the effect of ssI is observed. Higher radial moments and lower tangential moments were obtained for lower elevation chimneys with piled raft resting on loose sand when compared with conventional analysis results. The effect of ssI in the response of the pile is more significant when the structure-foundation system interacts with loose sand.

High-quality Bi2se3 microcrystals were grown by the physical vapor transport （PvT） method without using a foreign transport agent. The microplate crystals grown under the optimal temperature gradient are well faceted and have dimensions up to -200 μm, The growth proceeds by the layer-by-layer mecha- nism with the formation of flat low-growth rate facets. The phase composition of the grown crystals was identified by the X-ray single crystal structure analysis in space group R3m, a = 4.1356（3）, C= 28.634（5）A, Z=3 （R=0.0147）. The most probable twin planes in the tetradymite structure were evaluated by the pseudo translational sublattice merhad.

To understand the influence of human dis- turbance on the sediment processes along Kalpakkam coast, India, beach and seabed sediments at 200 m, 500 m, and 1 km into the sea were collected monthly for one year and analyzed. Coarser material close to the tidal inlets （river） and manmade structures （sea wall） indicate the effect of these features in altering the grain size distribution from the general trend. The bivariant plots confirm the dominance of deposition under beach environment. The CM diagram （C-one percentile grain diameter, M - median） divulges that the deposition takes place by suspension and rolling of sediments with C 〈 1 mm. Linear discriminate function analysis for sediments at Kalpakkam indicates a shallow marine environment for all the samples collected. On the multigroup multivariant discriminant functions.v. -v2 diagram, the bulk of the samples from Kalpakkam to Mahabalipuram fall in the field of beach deposition. These results show that reworked sediments, submerged during the Holocene marine transgression are being deposited on present-day beaches by waves, currents and rivers in the study area. Though a high wave energy environment is prevailing in the study area, dominant northward sediment transport along the Kalpakkam-Mahabalipuram human interventions. Beach coast is not altered due to building activity in front of the sea wall ensures the safety of Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research （IGCAR） from wave actions without causing any significant changes to the coastal environment.
