Th. effec. of annual additions of c.m.osted sewage sludge (c.) and th.rm.lly dried sewage sludge (TS) at 80 t h.-1 on soil c.em.c.l properties was investigated for th.ee years in a field experim.nt under sem.arid c.nditions. h.m.c.ac.ds (h.s) isolated by c.nventional proc.dures from.c., TS, and unam.nded (SO) and sludge am.nded soils were analysed for elem.ntal (c. h. N, S and O) and ac.dic.func.ional groups (c.rboxylic.and ph.nolic. and by ultraviolet-visible, Fourier transform.infrared and fluoresc.nc. spec.rosc.pies. With.respec. to c., TS h.d sim.lar ph.and total P and K c.ntents, larger dry m.tter, total organic.c. total N and c.N ratio and sm.ller ash.c.ntent and elec.ric.l c.nduc.ivity. Am.ndm.nt with.both.c. and TS induc.d a num.er of m.dific.tions in soil properties, inc.uding an inc.ease of ph. elec.ric.l c.nduc.ivity, total organic.c. total N, and available P. Th. c.-h. h.d greater O, total ac.dity, c.rboxyl, and ph.nolic.Oh.group c.ntents and sm.ller c.and h.c.ntents th.n TS-h.. Th. c.-h. and TS-h. h.d larger N and S c.ntents, sm.ller c. O and ac.dic.func.ional group c.ntents, and lower arom.tic.polyc.ndensation and h.m.fic.tion degrees th.n SO-h.. Am.nded soil-h.s sh.wed c. h. N and S c.ntents larger th.n SO-h., suggesting th.t sludge h.s were partially inc.rporated into soil h.s. Th.se effec.s were m.re evident with.inc.easing num.er of sludge applic.tions.

Th. purpose of th.s artic.e is to fam.liarize pediatric.ans with.th. evaluation, diagnosis, and treatm.nt of eryth.m. nodosum. Data sourc.s A Pubm.d searc. was c.m.leted in c.inic.l Queries using th. key term. 'eryth.m. nodosum.. Results c.inic.lly, eryth.m. nodosum.presents with.a sudden onset of painful, eryth.m.tous, subc.taneous nodules m.inly loc.lized to th. pretibial areas. Lesions are usually bilateral and sym.etric.l, ranging from.1 to 5 c. in diam.ter. Eryth.m. nodosum.m.y be assoc.ated with.a variety of c.nditions suc. as infec.ion, m.dic.tions, sarc.idosis, pregnanc., inflamm.-tory bowel disease, vac.ination, autoim.une disease, m.lignanc., and m.sc.llaneous c.uses. Th. c.ndition is idiopath.c.in approxim.tely 50% of c.ses. Th. diagnosis is m.inly c.inic.l with.biopsy reserved for atypic.l c.ses. To evaluate for th. underlying c.use, som. basic.laboratory sc.eening studies are worth.h.le in m.st c.ses and inc.ude a c.m.lete blood c.ll c.unt, eryth.oc.te sedim.ntation rate and/or c.reac.ive protein, th.oat swab c.lture, antistreptoc.c.al O titers, and a c.est radiograph. Oth.r tests sh.uld be individualized, guided by th. h.story and ph.sic.l exam.nation results. m.st c.ses of ery-th.m. nodosum.are self-lim.ted and require no treatm.nt. Bed rest and leg elevation are generally rec.m.ended to reduc. th. disc.m.ort. We c.nduc.ed a six-year epidem.ologic.l study on h.m.n c.ronaviruses（h.0}Vs） c.rc.lating in h.ng Kong, using 8275 nasoph.ryngeal sam.les from.patients with.ac.te respiratory trac. infec.ions. h.0}Vs were detec.ed in 77（0.93%） of th. sam.les by a pan-h.0}V RT-Pc. assay. Th. m.st frequently detec.ed h.0}V spec.es was h.0}V-Oc.3（0.58%）, followed by h.0}V-229E（0.15%）,h.0}V-h.U1（0.13%） and h.0}V-NL63（0.07%）. h.0}Vs were detec.ed th.ough.ut th. study period（Septem.er 2008–August 2014）, with.th. h.gh.st detec.ion rate from.Septem.er 2010 to August2011（22/1500, 1.47%）. Different seasonal patterns of eac. h.0}V spec.es in h.ng Kong were ***-Oc.3 was predom.nant in th. fall and winter, wh.reas h.0}V-h.U1 sh.wed peak ac.ivity in winter, with.a few c.ses oc.urred in spring and sum.er. h.0}V-229 E m.inly oc.urred in winter and spring, wh.le h.0}V-NL63 was predom.nant in sum.er and autum.. h.0}Vs m.st c.m.only infec. th. elderly and young c.ildren, with.m.dian age of 79.5 years（range, 22 days to 95 years）.Intriguingly, th. detec.ion rate of h.0}V-Oc.3 in th. age group of ＆gt; 80 years（26/2380, 1.09%） was signific.ntly h.gh.r th.n th.t in th. age group of 0–10 years（12/2529, 0.47%）（P 〈 0.05）.
