The current paper presents results of dielectric response,pyroelectric behavior and conductivity study of lead-free ferroelectric barium orthovanadate(Ba_(3)(VO_(4))_(2)or Ba_(3)V_(2)O_(8))ceramic,for a wide range of temperature and *** X-ray diffraction study suggests the formation of a single-phase compound in trigonal crystal *** SEM micrograph of gold-coated pellet sample shows well-defined and homogeneous *** studies of dielectric parameters(ε_(r)and tanδ)of the compound as a function of temperature and frequency reveal their independence over a wide range of temperature and *** nature of Polarization versus electric field(P-E)hysteresis loop of Ba_(3)V_(2)O_(8)at room temperature suggests its ferroelectric *** temperature dependence of pyroelectric coefficient and figure of merits of the sample support its dielectric *** nature of variation of dc conductivity with temperature confirms the Arrhenius and negative temperature coefficient of resistance(NTCr)behavior of the material.

The polycrystalline samples of Bi_(1-x)Gd_(x)FeO_(3)(x=0,0.1,and 0.2)muliferroic oxides have been synthesized by a solid-state reaction/mixed oxide *** preliminary X-ray structural analysis with room temperature diffraction data confirmed the formation of single-phase *** of room temperature scanning electron micrograph(SEM)of the surface of the above samples exhibits a uniform distribution of plate-and rod shaped grains throughout the sample surface with less *** dielectric behavior of the materials was studied in a wide range of frequency(1 kHz-1 MHz)and temperature(30-400℃).The nature of temperature dependence of de conductivity confirms the Arrhenius behavior of the *** frequency-temperature dependence of ac conductivity suggests that the material obeys Jonscher's universal power *** increase in Gd-content results in the enhancement of spontaneous magnetization BiFeO_(3)(BFO)due to the collapse of spin cycloid *** magnetoelectric coupling coefficient of BFO has been enhanced on Gd-substitution.

The polycrystalline sample of Li_(2)Pb_(2)Pr_(2)W_(2)Ti_(4)V_(4)O_(30) was prepared by a solid-state reaction *** preparation conditions of the compound have been optimized using thermal analysis(DTA and TGA)*** temperature structural analysis confirms the formation of single phase compound in orthorhombic crystal *** surface morphology of the sample,recorded by scanning electron microscope,shows uniform grain distribution on the surface of the *** observation of hysteresis loop confirmed that the material has ferroelectric properties at room *** properties of the material were studied by complex impedance spectroscopic *** dependence of electrical parameters(impedance,modulus,etc.)is strongly correlated to the micro-structural characteristics(bulk,grain boundary,etc.)of the sample.A typical temperature-dependent resistive characteristic of the sample(i.e.,negative temperature coe±cient of resistance(NTCr))exhibits its semiconducting *** temperature dependence of dc conductivity shows a typical Arrhenius behavior.A signature of ionic conductivity in the system was observed in ac conductivity *** sample obeys Jonscher's universal power *** hopping mechanism for electrical transport properties of the system with nonexponential-type conductivity relaxation was suggested from the electrical modulus analysis.

In this study,we report for theﬁrst time an Early Palaeozoic basement diorite from the drilled well Nirona-A in the Banni Half-Graben of the Kutch basin,western *** 40Ar–39Ar dates provided a plateau age of 441.84±2.66 Ma and another pseudo plateau of 441.28±5.82 to 388.08±16.65 Ma for the basement *** ages constrain the basement formation age to the Late Ordovician-Early Silurian *** obtained basement ages are correlatable with the later part of Cambro-Ordovician alkaline magmatism that has been reported from the Huqf area in Central Oman,whereas their lithological and petrographic correlativity with base-ment diorites occurring in the Dinsi Body of Nagar Parkar igneous complex in Pakistan can also be *** geochemical studies characterized the diorite with enrich-ment of LILE(rb,Ba,and K)and LrEE(La,Ce,Nd),strong depletion of HFSE(Nb,Sr,P,and Ti),along with weakly negative Eu *** geochemical signatures indicate their petrogenetic afﬁliation with mantle-derived magmas,as well as their tectonic setting to be arc-related,having post-collisional continental-arc type afﬁ****440 Ma basement of Kutch,therefore,appears to rep-resent the later thermal event associated with the reworked Neoproterozoic subduction-related suite from Greater India’s northwest edge,which has implications for Gond-wana assembly in the northwest Indian subcontinent.

Inpatient falls from beds in hospitals are a common *** falls may result in severe *** problem can be addressed by continuous monitoring of patients using *** advancements in deep learning-based video analytics have made this task of fall detection more effective and *** with fall detection,monitoring of different activities of the patients is also of significant concern to assess the improvement in their *** computation-intensive models are required to monitor every action of the patient *** requirement limits the applicability of such ***,to keep the model lightweight,the already designed fall detection networks can be extended to monitor the general activities of the patients along with the fall *** by the same notion,we propose a novel,lightweight,and efficient patient activity monitoring system that broadly classifies the patients’activities into fall,activity,and rest classes based on their *** whole network comprises three sub-networks,namely a Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN)based video compression network,a Lightweight Pose Network(LPN)and a residual Network(resNet)Mixer block-based activity recognition *** compression network compresses the video streams using deep learning networks for efficient storage and retrieval;after that,LPN estimates human ***,the activity recognition network classifies the patients’activities based on their *** proposed system shows an overall accuracy of approx.99.7% over a standard dataset with 99.63% fall detection accuracy and efficiently monitors different events,which may help monitor the falls and improve the inpatients’health.

Spores are the biological structures formed out of sporulation from vegetative cells in adverse *** tolerant to many extreme environment and conditions,they escape and survives critical processing steps in the food industry that poses food and health safety problems,as is evident from the increase in reports of food-bome outbreaks due to *** radiation(EM)is used for rapid decontamination and sterilization purposes in the food *** studies have reported a greater reduction in spore population upon irradiation with EM rays due to its impact on genomic material and other components of spores that destabilises overall structue and brings clonogenic death However,there is scattered literature regarding the mechanism of its inactivation and resistance against such *** review attempts to concisely evaluate the potential of electromagnetic radiations in spore inactivation and details its mechanism through a collective study of scientific results and *** also briefs about the process of sporulation,the structure of spores and the role of its components in the resistance of spores to *** studies,which demonstrated that combining various EM treatments might be an effective way for inactivation of spores,were discussed in detail.

PFNA2 versus 95 Degree Condylar Blade Plate in the Management of Unstable Trochanteric Fractures

Purpose: The proximal femoral nail anti-rotation (PFNA) is known to have advantages in enhancing the anchorage ability of internal fixation in elderly unstable osteoporotic intertrochanteric fracture patients. However whether it is superior to condylar blade fixation is not clear. This study aimed to determine which treatment has better clinical outcomes in older patients. Materials and Methods: A total of 86 patients over the age of 60 with unstable trochanteric fractures within the past 3 weeks, were included in this prospective study conducted from June 1, 2018, to May 31, 2021. All the intertrochanteric fractures were classified according to AO/OTA classification. Among them, 44 cases were treated with the Proximal Femoral Nail (PFNA2) with or without an augmentation screw, and 42 cases were treated with the Condylar Blade Plate. In addition, the operative time, intraoperative blood loss, intraoperative and postoperative blood transfusion, postoperative weight-bearing time, hospitalization time, Harris score of hip function, Kyle’s criteria and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. results: The mean duration of surgery for the PFN group was 66.8 minutes (on average), whereas for the condylar blade plate group, it was 99.30 minutes (on average). The PFNA2 group experienced less blood loss (average of 80 mL) compared to the condylar blade plate group (average of 120 mL). Union and partial weight-bearing occurred earlier in the PFNA2 group (14.1 weeks and 10.6 weeks, respectively) compared to the Condylar blade plate group (18.7 weeks and 15.8 weeks). In two patients from the PFNA2 group, screw backing out and varus collapse complications were encountered;however, these patients remained asymptomatic and did not require revision surgery. Friction-based riveting technique for AZ31 magnesium alloy

A new friction-based riveting technique, rotating Hammer riveting(rHr), is demonstrated to fully form AZ31 Mg rivet heads in a mere 0.23 s. Heat and pressure generated through severe plastic deformation during the process was sufficient to form the Mg rivet head without the need for a pre-heating operation. Due to preliminary twinning and followed by dynamic recrystallization, AZ31 Mg grains in the rivet head were refined during rHr, which enhance the formability of Mg rivets by triggering grain boundary sliding and reducing plastic anisotropy of Mg. In addition, rHr joints showed a metallurgical bond between the rivet head and top AZ31 Mg sheet, which eliminates a significant pathway for corrosion.
