Health-promoting and disease-preventive potential of Trianthema portulacastrum Linn.(Gadabani)--An Indian medicinal and dietary plant

It is estimated that 80% of the world population depends on traditional medicine for primary healthcare need. Trianthema portulacastrum Linn.（family： Aizoaceae） is a small perennial weed found in the Americas, Africa, India, and other regions of the world. This plant is used extensively in Indian traditional medicines and is also consumed as a vegetable throughout Asia for its perceived health benefits. Phytochemical analysis of T. portulacastrum reveals the presence of alkaloids, fl avonoids, terpenoids, saponins, and phenolic compounds. Emerging studies demonstrate that crude extracts as well as bioactive phytoconstituents of T. portulacastrum exhibit potent antioxidant, anti-infective, analgesic, and anti-infl ammatory activities. A growing number of in vitro and in vivo studies demonstrate various biological and pharmacological activities, including prevention and amelioration of hepatotoxicity, nephrotoxicity, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, infectious diseases and cancer. This review aims to present and analyze available literature to understand the full potential of T. portulacastrum in health promotion and disease prevention. Current limitations and future directions of research on this medicinal and dietary plant are also critically discussed.

To obtain analytically relativistic quintessence anisotropic spherical solutions in the f(T)paradigm is the primary objective of this *** do this,the pressure anisotropy condition is imposed,and we employ a metric potential of the Tolman–Kuchowicz(TK)*** also suppose that our current model incorporates a quintessence field characterized by a parameterωq,in addition to the anisotropic matter *** the presence of the parameterα,the field equations are modified by the choice of the f(T)*** f(T)gravity parameterαadds new components to the basic physical characteristics,such as density,pressure,subliminal sound velocity,surface redshift,etc,of the present *** selecting the compact star Her X-1 and varyingαfrom 0.5 to 2.5,we examined all the physical characteristics of the model parameter of the *** graphical process demonstrates that a more compact item is produced with greater values ofα.The hydrostatic equilibrium condition of the model is discussed,as well as the mass-radius relationship for our current model is obtained.

Exact Solution of a(2+1)-Dimensional Anisotropic Star in Finch and Skea Spacetime

We provide a new class of interior solution of a(2+1)-dimensional anisotropic star in Finch and Skea spacetime corresponding to the BTZ black hole. We develop the model by considering the MIT bag model EOS and a particular ansatz for the metric function grrproposed by Finch and Skea [M.R. Finch and J.E.F. Skea, Class. ***. 6(1989) 467]. Our model is free from central singularity and satisfies all the physical requirements for the acceptability of the model.

The present article reports the study of local anisotropic effects on Durgapal's fourth model in the context of gravitational decoupling via the minimal geometric deformation *** achieve this,the most general equation of state relating the components of the−θsector is imposed to obtain the decoupler function f(r).In addition,certain properties of the obtained solution,such as the behavior of the salient material content threading the stellar interior;causality and energy conditions;hydrostatic balance through the modified Tolman−Oppenheimer−Volkoff conservation equation and stability mechanism against local anisotropies using the adiabatic index;sound velocity of the pressure waves;convection factor;and the Harrison−Zeldovich−Novikov procedure,are investigated to check whether the model is physically admissible or *** the stability analysis,it is found that the model presents unstable regions when the sound speed of the pressure waves and convection factor are used in distinction with the adiabatic index and Harrison−Zeldovich−Novikov *** produce a more realistic picture,the numerical data for some known compact objects were determined and different values of the parameterαwere considered to compare with the GR case,i.e.,α=0.

Gravity Wave Generated by Initial Axisymmetric Disturbance at the Surface of an Ice‑covered Ocean with Porous Bed

This paper is concerned with the generation of gravity waves due to prescribed initial axisymmetric disturbances created at the surface of an ice sheet covering the ocean with a porous *** ice cover is modeled as a thin elastic plate,and the bottom porosity is described by a real *** linear theory,the problem is formulated as an initial value problem for the velocity potential describing the *** the mathematical analysis,the Laplace and Hankel transform techniques have been used to obtain the depression of the ice-covered surface in the form of a multiple infnite *** integral is evaluated asymptotically by the method of stationary phase twice for a long time and a large distance from the *** numerical computations are performed to illustrate the efect of the ice-covered surface and bottom porosity on the surface elevation,phase velocity,and group velocity of the surface gravity *** the far-feld behavior of the progressive waves is observed in two diferent cases,namely initial depression and an impulse concentrated at the *** graphical representations,it is clearly visible that the presence of ice cover and a porous bottom decreases the wave *** to the porous bottom,the amplitude of phase velocity decreases,whereas the amplitude of group velocity increases.

Identification and Characterisation of a Bacterial Isolate Capable of Growth on Trichloroethylene as the Sole Carbon Source

The aim of this research work was to isolate microbes from soil, to investigate their potential use as effective bioremediation tools for trichloroethylene—a potent environmental pollutant. The isolate showing good growth in presence of TCE was named PM102. Microbiological characterisation of the PM102 isolate showed that it was a gram negative rod. Detailed structure was revealed by scanning electron microscopy. pH and temperature optima, salt tolerance and optimum TCE concentration for growth of PM102 were determined. The ability of this bacterium to degrade TCE was studied in acidic and neutral pH by biochemical test and chloride release. Five TCE inducible bands were detected in the protein profile of the isolate as studied by SDS PAGE. A major TCE inducible band of 51.61 kDa was excised from the gel and injected into rabbit to raise specific antibody. The bacterium was identified as Stenotrophomonas maltophilia PM102 by 16S rDNA amplification and sequencing. The 16S rRNA gene sequence has been deposited in the NCBI GenBank with accession number JQ797560. This genus has not been described previously as being capable of TCE degradation. We report for the first time a Stenotrophomonas sp. that grows on TCE as the sole carbon source.

Quantitation of Polydeoxyribonucletides (PDRNs) in Human Placental Extract by Fluorescence Spectroscopy Using Ethidium Bromide

Characterization of an aqueous extract of human placenta, used as a licensed drug for wound healing, leads to the identification of several bioactive components including polydeoxyribonu-cleotides (PDRNs). PDRNs are mixture of DNA fragments of different molecular weight. A spectro-fluorimetric method of quantitation of PDRNs in the aqueous extract of human placenta by using ethidium bromide (EtBr) has been described here. It has been demonstrated by thin layer chromatography (TLC) followed by reversed phase HPLC that EtBr binds specifically with the PDRN fraction of the multi-component extract. The binding specificity of EtBr has been verified by the analysis of emission spectra of the extract. A concentration of 0.29 μg/ml EtBr exhibits a linear range of standard CT-DNA from 0.5 - 5 μg/ml of buffer (R2 = 0.992). The same concentration of EtBr shows a linear range of measurements of placenta extract from 5 - 35 μl/ml of buffer (R2 = 0.976). The points of the curve were the average of three sets where maximum variation observed was ±3%. PDRN content of the extract has been estimated based on the resultant fluorescence emission (after background correction) with respect to the standard calibration curve of calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA). Estimation of PDRN in a large number of batches of placenta extract (n = 100) has been done. The statistical analysis of the estimation was found to be significant and the lower and upper levels of PDRN were 158.30 and 239.03 μg/ml of the extract respectively. This easy-to-use method of estimation of PDRN in multi-component biological extract is reported for the first time. This will help in quantitation of PDRNs for other biological extracts.
