Unraveling multidimensional land transfers in mountainous areas:influence of grassroots governance,geographic location,livelihood capital,and demographic factors

Cropland abandonment has been a widespread phenomenon in mountainous areas due to the increasing number of natural disasters and the massive migration of rural labor in the process of rapid *** transfer is a crucial prerequisite for ensuring food security and fostering rural *** to promote land transfer in mountainous areas remains a challenging but important ***,there is a dearth of research examining land transfers among farm households that specifically address mountainous regions,and the influence of grassroots governance and geographic location has not been thoroughly elucidated within this particular *** on 895household samples collected in Dabie Mountainous Area in China,this study employs binary and ordinal logistic regression models to provide a more comprehensive analysis on land transfers among rural households and the determinants,including the decision to transfer land,the existence of land transfer rents,the channel of land transfer,the duration of the transfer,the pre-transfer cultivation situation,and the level of satisfaction with the land transfer *** findings reveal that grassroots governance,geographic location,livelihood capital,and demographic factors significantly influence land transfers among rural ***,villagers'public participation positively affects land transfer participation(β=0.235,p<0.05),while the operation of village rules and regulations negatively impacts it(β=-0.296,p<0.05).Village cadre satisfaction positively influences both land transfer rent(β=0.274,p<0.05)and rent satisfaction(β=0.303,p<0.05).Improved civil relations in the village correlate with lower land transfer rent(β=-0.511,p<0.05),while a better social atmosphere is associated with higher satisfaction with transfer rent(β=0.575,p<0.01).Households at higher elevations tend to prefer government-mediated land transfers with longer *** distances to the township and county centers have c

Rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs)exhibit appreciable potential in the domain of electrochemical energy ***,there are serious challenges for AZIBs,for instance zinc dendrite growth,hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),and corrosion side ***,we propose a surface engineering modification strategy for coating the montmorillonite(MMT)layer onto the surface of the Zn anode to tackle these issues,thereby achieving high cycling stability for rechargeable *** results reveal that the MMT layer on the surface of the Zn anode is able to provide ordered zincophilic channels for zinc ions migration,facilitating the reaction kinetics of zinc *** functional theory(DFT)calculations and water contact angle(CA)tests prove that MMT@Zn anode exhibits superior adsorption capacity for Zn^(2+)and better hydrophobicity than the bare Zn anode,thereby achieving excellent cycling ***,the MMT@Zn||MMT@Zn symmetric cell holds the stable cycling over 5600 h at 0.5 mA cm^(-2)and 0.125 m A h cm^(-2),even exceeding 1800 h long cycling under harsh conditions of 5 m A cm^(-2)and 1.25 m A h cm^(-2).The MMT@Zn||V_(2)O_(5)full cell reaches over 3000 cycles at 2 A g^(-1)with excellent rate ***,this surface engineering modification strategy for enhancing the electrochemical performance of AZIBs represents a promising application.

Regulated cell death is a form of cell death that is actively controlled by *** studies have shown that regulated cell death plays a key role after spinal cord *** and ferroptosis are newly discovered types of regulated cell deaths that have been shown to exacerbate inflammation and lead to cell death in damaged spinal ***,a complex form of cell death that is interconnected with various regulated cell death mechanisms,has garnered significant attention in the study of spinal cord *** injury triggers not only cell death but also cellular survival *** signaling pathways play pivotal roles in influencing the processes of both deterioration and repair in spinal cord injury by regulating pyroptosis,ferroptosis,and ***,this review aims to comprehensively examine the mechanisms underlying regulated cell deaths,the signaling pathways that modulate these mechanisms,and the potential therapeutic targets for spinal cord *** analysis suggests that targeting the common regulatory signaling pathways of different regulated cell deaths could be a promising strategy to promote cell survival and enhance the repair of spinal cord ***,a holistic approach that incorporates multiple regulated cell deaths and their regulatory pathways presents a promising multi-target therapeutic strategy for the management of spinal cord injury.

Iron-chromium flow batteries(ICRFBs)have emerged as an ideal large-scale energy storage device with broad application prospects in recent *** of the Cr^(3+)/Cr^(2+)redox reaction activity and inhibition of the hydrogen evolution side reaction(HER)are essential for the development of ICRFBs and require a novel catalyst ***,elucidating the underlying mechanisms for modulating catalyst behaviors remains an unresolved ***,we show a novel precisely controlled preparation of a novel thermal-treated carbon cloth electrode with a uniform deposit of low-cost indium catalyst *** density functional theory analysis reveals the In catalyst has a significant adsorption effect on the reactants and improves the redox reaction activity of Cr^(3+)/Cr^(2+).Moreover,H+is more easily absorbed on the surface of the catalyst with a high migration energy barrier,thereby inhibiting the occurrence of *** assembled ICRFBs have an average energy efficiency of 83.91%at 140 mA cm^(-2),and this method minimizes the electrodeposition process and cleans the last obstacle for industry long cycle operation *** ICRFBs exhibit exceptional long-term stability with an energy efficiency decay rate of 0.011%per cycle at 1000 cycles,the lowest ICRFBs reported so ***,this study provides a promising strategy for developing ICRFBs with low costs and long cycle life.

The Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum(PETM)was the most prominent warming event in the Cenozoic and serves as a geological analog for the current global warming driven by anthropogenic CO_(2)emissions from burning fossil *** a primary disruptor of Earth's ecosystems,wildfire activity affects the balance of ecosystems,the global carbon cycle,and climate ***,studying the evolution and driving mechanisms of wildfires during the PETM is essential for predicting wildfire activity under global warming scenarios and for understanding the carbon cycle in the context of wildfire *** research on wildfires during the PETM has mainly focused on the Northern Hemisphere,particularly Europe and North America,whereas studies on Chinese mainland remain *** this study,we analyzed black carbon(BC)concentration and carbon isotope(δ13C)in the Beigou section of the Nanyang Basin and the Xilutian section of the Fushun Basin to reconstruct the spatiotemporal evolution of wildfires in arid/semi-arid and humid *** integrated these findings with those of previous studies on the paleoclimate of the research area to elucidate the driving mechanisms behind wildfire *** results indicate that wildfire activity weakened at the onset of the PETM,with the negative carbon isotope period characterized by low wildfire activity,except for a brief resurgence in the Nanyang *** the recovery phase of the PETM,wildfire activity gradually increased,returning to the pre-PETM *** prolonged low wildfire state was likely caused by extremely high temperatures and precipitation as well as the resulting vegetation *** the PETM recovery phase,increased wildfire activity transformed“short-term carbon sinks”of the biological-atmospheric carbon cycle into“long-term carbon sinks”through the burial of *** process of carbon sink conversion may have acted as a negative feedback mechanism,contributing to carbon sequestration and the e

Although guided image filtering(GIF) is known for preserving edges and fast computation,it may produce inaccurate outputs in depth map *** this paper,a novel confidence-weighted GIF called mutual-structure weighted GIF(MSWGIF) is proposed,which replaces the mean filtering strategy in GIF during handling overlapping *** confidence value is composed of a depth term and a mutual-structure term,where the depth term is utilized to protect the edges of the output,and the mutual-structure term helps to select accurate windows during the structure characteristics of the guidance image are transferred to the *** results show that MSWGIF reduces the root mean square error(RMSE) by an average of 12.37%,and the average growth rate of correlation(CORR) is 0.07% on ***,the average growth rate of structure similarity index measure(SSIM) is 0.34%.
