ZnO nanoneedle/nanocolumn （NN/NC） composite films were grown via reactive electron beam evaporation （REBE） in the NH3/H2 gaseous mixture by using polycrystalline ZnO ceramic targets as source materials. The growth was performed at low substrate temperatures （450～500℃） without employing any metallic catalysts. As-prepared samples were then rapidly annealed in 02 ambient at a higher temperature （600℃）. Electron microscopic observations revealed the typical composite-structured morphologies of NN/NC/substrate of ZnO nanomaterials grown at 500℃. Such unique morphologies should render potential applications, for instance, as an efficient microwave absorption material utilized in the fabrication of concealed aerostat. In addition, X-ray diffraction and photoluminescence measurements showed remarkable improvement in crystal and optical qualities of ZnO NN/NC composite films after annealing.

This paper develops a unified methodology for a real-time speed control of brushless direct-current motor drive systems in the presence of measurement noise and load torque disturbance. First, the mathematical model and hardware structure of system is established. Next, an optimal state feed back controller using the Kalman filter state estimation technique is derived. This is followed by an adaptive control algorithm to compensate for the effects of noise and disturbance. Those two algorithms working together can provide a very-high-speed regulation and dynamic response over a wide range of operating conditions. Simulated responses are presented to highlight the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

A series of physical tests are conducted to examine the characteristics of the wave loading exerted on circular-front breakwaters by regular waves. It is found that the wave trough instead of wave crest plays a major role in the failure of submerged circular caissons due to seaward sliding. The difference in the behavior of seaward and shoreward horizontal wave forces is explained based on the variations of dynamic pressure with wave parameters. A wave load model is proposed based on a modified first-order solution for the dynamic pressure on submerged circular-front caissons under a wave trough. This wave loading model is very useful for engineering design. Further studies are needed to include model uncertainties in the reliability assessment of the breakwater.

This paper develops a large-scale small-gain result for dynamic networks composed of infinite-dimensional subsystems. It is assumed that the subsystems are input-to-output stable（IOS）and unboundedness observable（UO）, and the large-scale infinite-dimensional system can be proved to be IOS and UO if the proposed small-gain condition is satisfied.

In this paper,the visualization of the thermo-hydrodynamic behavior in flat-plate pulsating heat pipe(FP-PHP)with HFE-347 is experimentally *** FP-PHP is vertically placed with filling rate of 20%to 70%and heating power of 20 W to 140 W.A high-speed camera is used to record the two-phase flow in the *** flow pattern types and four flow directions are *** flow directions of the two-phase flow inside the FP-PHP with medium filling rate(40%–60%)are the most complex,and the FP-PHP with high filling rate(70%)is most likely to form a directional circulating *** high heating power(100 W to 140 W),the flow patterns in FP-PHP with medium(40%–60%)and high filling rate(70%)are dominated by mixed *** wall temperature fluctuates greatly at moderate heating power(60 W to 80 W)owing to the uncertainty of the flow *** temperature distribution of the FP-PHP is highly affected by the heat transfer intensity of the working fluid under different flow states,so that the state of fluid flow and the thermal performance of FP-PHP can be evaluated through the infrared thermal image of the FP-PHP.

The point defect concentrations of L12-A13X（Sc, Zr, Er） were systematically investigated using the first- principle calculations with thermodynamics approach. The results show that the constitutional point defects of off- stoichiometric L12-A13X（Sc, Zr, Er） prefer to occur in X sublattice, that is X anti-site in X-rich alloy and X vacancy in Al-rich alloy, respectively. And A1 anti-site also has a high density in Al-rich Llz-A13X（Sc, Er）. It is found that the point defect concentrations of stoichiometric L12-A/3X（Sc, Zr） follow in the sequence as： A1 vacancies （VA0 〉 X vacancies （Vx）〉 X anti-sites （XA1）〉 A1 anti- sites （Alx）. The point defect concentration of stoichio- metric A13Er is similar to that of L12-A13X（Sc, Zr）. The result suggests that the A1 vacancy （VA1） is a dominant point defect in L12-A13X（Sc, Zr, Er）. A simple parameter Hvx-HVA1 can be used for a rough estimation of the point defect concentrations in L12-A13X structure. Some rules of point defect concentrations for L12-A13X（Sc, Zr, Er） are also revealed.

Oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)catalysts play a critical role in energy storage and conversion devices and have been attracted enormous interests,and however,it remains challenging to develop highly active cheap catalysts in a simple and green *** by the heme-copper oxidases(HOCs),in which the ORR active center is originated from the incorporation of Fe-N_(4)with copper atom,we here developed a fine manganese oxide nanosheets(MnO_(x)NSs)integrated with iron phthalocyanine(FePc)anchored on highly conductive graphene(MnO_(x)/FePc-G)through a green route only involve ethanol as the *** bio-inspired catalyst MnO_(x)/Fe Pc-G demonstrated high ORR activity with a half-wave potential(E_(1/2))of 0.887 V,about 57 mV more positive than that of Pt/*** the current density(j)at 0.9 V is about 1.9 m A cm^(-2),which is three times of Pt/C and *** importantly,the bio-inspired systems show superior stability in comparison to commercial Pt/C,showing a potential of 0.863 V to deliver a j of 3 mA cm^(-2)after 18000 s polarization,about 80 mV higher than that of 0.783 V for Pt/*** high activity is contributed by the integration of the Fe Pc and MnO_(x)NSs that plays the role to assist the cleavage of the O_(2)*** approach provides a new evidence to develop highly efficient ORR catalysts through imitate the naturally involved systems through a simple route.

Tumor-associated bacteria(TAB) play a critically important role in regulating the microenvironment of a tumor, which consequently greatly deteriorates the therapeutic effects by chemo-and radiotherapy deactivation and, more considerably, leads to substantial immunosuppression. On the contrary, herein we propose a nanocatalytic tumor-immunotherapeutic modality based on the bacteria disintegration by bacteria-specific oxidative damage under magnetic hyperthermia for highly effective immune response activation-promoted tumor regression. A monodispersed and superparamagnetic nanocatalytic medicine modified by arginyl-glycyl-aspartic acid(RGD) and(3-carboxypropyl)triphenylphosphonium bromide(TPP), named as MNP-RGD-TPP herein, has been synthesized, which features selective accumulation at the TAB by the electrostatic affinity, enabling effective TAB disintegration by the nanocatalytic Fenton reaction producing abundant cytotoxic hydroxyl radicals in situ under alternating magnetic field-induced hyperthermia. More importantly, the lipopolysaccharide has been metabolically secreted from the destructed TAB as pathogen-associated molecular patterns(PAMPs) to M1-polarize tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs) and promote the maturation of dendritic cells(DCs) for innate immuno-response activation of TAMs, followed by cytotoxic T lymphocytes awakening under the PAMPs presentation by the mature DCs against tumor cells. The integrated innate and adaptive immunity activations based on this TAB-promoted nanocatalytic immunomedicine, instead of magnetic heating-induced hyperthermia or the released Fe2+/Fe3+Fenton agent, has been found to achieve excellent therapeutic efficacy in an orthotopic colorectal cancer model, demonstrating the great potential of such an integrated immunity strategy in clinical tumor immunotherapy.

Stro ntium-doped lanthanum ferrite(LSF)is a potential ceramic cathode for direct CO_(2) electrolysis in solid oxide electrolysis cells(SOECs),but its application is limited by insufficient catalytic activity and stability in CO_(2)-containing ***,a novel strategy is proposed to enhance the electrolytic performance as well as chemical stability,achieved by doping F into the O-site of the perovskite *** F does not change the phase structure but reduces the cell volume and improves the chemical stability in a CO_(2)-rich ***,F doping favors oxygen vacancy formation,increases oxygen vacancy concentration,and enhances the CO_(2) adsorption ***,doping with F greatly improves the kinetics of the CO_(2) reduction *** example,kchem increases by 78%from3.49×10^(-4) cm s^(-1) to 6.24×10^(-4) cm s^(-1),and Dchem doubles from 4.68×10^(-5) cm^(2) s^(-1) to 9.45×10^(-5)cm^(2) s^(-1).Consequently,doping F significantly increases the electrochemical performance,such as reducing R_(p) by 52.2%from 0.226Ωcm^(2) to 0.108Ωcm^(2) at 800℃.As a result,the single cell with the Fcontaining cathode exhibits an extremely high current density of 2.58 A cm^(-2) at 800℃and 1.5 V,as well as excellent durability over 200 h for direct CO_(2) electrolysis in SOECs.
