Effect of Thermocycle Aging on Color Stability of Monolithic Zirconia

Background: The color stability of dental restorative materials is important for long-term clinical success. Objectives: The objective of this study was to examine the effect of thermocycling on the color and translucency stability of monolithic zirconia. Materials and methods: A total of 80 disc-shaped specimens (1 cm diameter) were produced from monolithic zirconia material, Katana High Translucent (Kuraray Noritake Dental, Kurashiki, Japan). The specimens were prepared in four different thicknesses: 0.5 mm, 1 mm, 1.5 mm and 2 mm. Before thermocycling, color measurements of the specimens were made by a spectrophotometer (Spectro Shade TM MICRO;MHT Optic Research AG, Milan, Italy). After the thermal aging procedure, the color measurement was repeated. Data obtained from the study were analyzed with descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, one-way ANOVA and Tukey’s tests. Results: After thermocycling, the L*, a*, b* values decreased at all thicknesses. The maximum change in the L*, a* and b* values was observed in 0.5-mm-thick specimens, while the least change was observed in 2-mm-thick specimens. The amount of color change in the specimens after thermocycling was found to be the highest in 0.5-mm-thick specimens (ΔE = 0.91 ± 0.02), and the lowest in 2-mm-thick specimens (ΔE = 0.85 ± 0.01). While a statistically significant color change (ΔE) was observed in 0.5-mm-thick specimens (p 0.05) in 1-mm, 1.5-mm, and 2-mm-thick specimens. After thermocycling, the translucency parameter (TP) values decreased at all thicknesses. The highest change in the TP values was observed in 0.5-mm-thickspecimens (1.09 ± 0.03), while the lowest change was observed in 2-mm-thickspecimens (0.40 ± 0.04). While a statistically significant change in the TP values was observed in 0.5-mm-thick specimens (p < 0.05), there was a statistically insignificant change in the TP values of 1-mm, 1.5-mm and 2-mm-thick specime

The percentage of mortality caused by cardio-vascular events in European Countries and European Union Countries is respectively 49% and 42% of all mortality causes. Our estimates about cardiovascular mortality in Turkey depend on TEKHARF (Hearth Disease and Risk Factors in Turkish Adults) which depended on a 12 year observation. It has been reported that cardio-vascular mortality rates for Turkey in men and women were 0.082% and 0.043% respectively. In Turkey, Atorvastatin, Fluvastatin, Pravastatin, Rosuvastatin and Simvastatin are the different alternatives found in the statin market. All stat-ins are reimbursed by insurance companies. The aim of this study is to determine the cost- effectiveness of statins. In conclusion, simvas-tatin and rosuvastatin comprised the optimal two statin alternatives.

HPP （high pressure processing） is one of the novel technologies to produce microbiologically safe food. HPP is a non-thermal food processing method, wherein the food is subjected to a very high pressure ranging between 100-800 MPa in order to prevent undesirable chemical and microbiological reactions, and hence, prolong the shelf-life. HPP is also called as ＂high hydrostatic processing, ultra-high pressure processing or isostatic processing＂. In dairy products, HHP has the potential to modify the functional properties of proteins, polysaccharides and alter biochemical reactions without significantly affecting the nutritional and sensory properties. HPP treatment induces significant changes in milk components particularly in proteins （whey proteins and caseins）, as well as on their applicability in innovative dairy productions. HPP influences technological properties of various milk products such as firmness, water-holding capacity of the gel and network structure, cheese yield, rennet coagulation time and ripening.

目的:评估玻璃体腔内抗VEGF治疗糖尿病黄斑水肿(DME)24mo后的现实生活剖析和视觉效果。方法:本研究包括了2012-06/2016-12接受玻璃体腔内注射的视网膜内和/或视网膜下液体和基线中心黄斑厚度(CMT)超过300μm的DME患者。在基线处3,6,12,18和24mo评估视力(VA)和CMT的变化,以及患者就诊和玻璃体腔内注射总数。结果:研究包含40例患者(54眼)。基线处3mo LogMAR视力从0.67±0.47提高到0.59±0.43并在12mo内保持3.5±2.19次注射。12mo和24mo时平均就诊次数分别为9±2.39和15.48±4.84。基线处平均CMT为450±153μm,12mo和24mo时分别降至385±141μm和305±111μm(P<0.001)。结论:PRN方法在治疗DME中可以保持视力稳定并改善黄斑水肿,但在主动疗法中,较低的就诊负担可能会获得类似的或更好的治疗效果。

Purpose:The aim of the present study was to assess both the credibility and strength of evidence arising from systematic reviews with meta-analyses of observational studies on handgrip strength and health ***:An umbrella review of systematic reviews with meta-analyses of observational studies was *** assessed meta-analyses of observational studies based on random-effect summary effect sizes and their p values,95%prediction intervals,heterogeneity,small-study effects,and excess *** graded the evidence from convincing(Class I)to weak(Class IV).Results:From 504 articles returned in a search of the literature,8 systematic reviews were included in our review,with a total of 11 ***,nine of the 11 of the outcomes reported nominally significant summary results(p<0.05),with 4 associations surviving the application of the more stringent p value(p<106).No outcome presented convincing *** associations showed Class II evidence(i.e.,highly suggestive):(1)higher handgrip values at baseline were associated with a minor reduction in mortality risk in the general population(n=34 studies;sample size=1,855,817;relative risk=0.72,95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.670.78),(2)cardiovascular death risk in mixed populations(n=15 studies;relative risk=0.84,95%CI:0.780.91),and(3)incidence of disability(n=7 studies;relative risk=0.76,95%CI:0.660.87).Conclusion:The present results show that handgrip strength is a useful indicator for general health status and specifically for early all-cause and cardiovascular mortality,as well as *** further inform intervention strategies,future research is now required to fully understand mechanisms linking handgrip strength scores to these health outcomes.

Objective:To evaluate long-term effects of COVID-19,and to determine the risk factors in long-COVID in a cohort of the Turkish Thoracic Society(TTS)-TURCOVID multicenter ***:Thirteen centers participated with 831 patients;504 patients were enrolled after *** study was designed in three-steps:(1)Phone questionnaire;(2)retrospective evaluation of the medical records;(3)face-to-face ***:In the first step,93.5%of the patients were hospitalized;61.7%had a history of pneumonia at the time of diagnosis.A total of 27.1%reported clinical symptoms at the end of the first ***(17.00%),fatigue(6.30%),and weakness(5.00%)were the most prevalent long-term *** incidence of long-term symptoms was increased by 2.91 fold(95%CI 1.04-8.13,P=0.041)in the presence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and by 1.84 fold(95%CI 1.10-3.10,P=0.021)in the presence of pneumonia at initial diagnosis,3.92 fold(95%CI 2.29-6.72,P=0.001)of dyspnea and 1.69 fold(95%CI 1.02-2.80,P=0.040)fatigue persists in the early-post-treatment period and 2.88 fold(95%CI 1.52-5.46,P=0.001)in the presence of emergency service admission in the post COVID *** step 2,retrospective analysis of 231 patients revealed that 1.4%of the chest X-rays had not significantly improved at the end of the first year,while computed tomography(CT)scan detected fibrosis in 3.4%.In step 3,138(27.4%)patients admitted to face-to-face visit at the end of first year;at least one symptom persisted in 49.27%*** most common symptoms were dyspnea(27.60%),psychiatric symptoms(18.10%),and fatigue(17.40%).Thorax CT revealed fibrosis in 2.4%***:COVID-19 symptoms can last for extended lengths of time,and severity of the disease as well as the presence of comorbidities might contribute to increased ***-term clinical issues should be regularly evaluated after COVID-19.
