Recent advancements in stem cell technology open a new door for patients suffering from diseases and disorders that have yet to be treated.Stem cell-based therapy,including human pluripotent stem cells(hPsCs)and multipotent mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs),has recently emerged as a key player in regenerative medicine.hPSCs are defined as self-renewable cell types conferring the ability to differentiate into various cellular phenotypes of the human body,including three germ layers.MsCs are multipotent progenitor cells possessing self-renewal ability(limited in vitro)and differentiation potential into mesenchymal lineages,according to the International Society for Cell and Gene therapy(ISCt).this review provides an update on recent clinical applications using either hPSCs or MSCs derived from bone marrow(BM),adipose tissue(At),or the umbilical cord(UC)for the treatment of human diseases,including neurological disorders,pulmonary dysfunctions,metabolic/endocrine-related diseases,reproductive disorders,skin burns,and cardiovascular conditions.Moreover,we discuss our own clinical trial experiences on targeted therapies using MsCs in a clinical setting,and we propose and discuss the MSC tissue origin concept and how MSC origin may contribute to the role of MSCs in downstream applications,with the ultimate objective of facilitating translational research in regenerative medicine into clinical applications.the mechanisms discussed here support the proposed hypothesis that BM-MSCs are potentially good candidates for brain and spinal cord injury treatment,At-MSCs are potentially good candidates for reproductive disorder treatment and skin regeneration,and UC-MsCs are potentially good candidates for pulmonary disease and acute respiratory distress svndrometreatment.

EP Aquarii:A New Picture of the Circumstellar Envelope

New analyses of earlier ALMA observations of oxygen-rich AGB star EP Aquarii are presented,which complete a previously published analysis and offer a different interpretation of the morpho-kinematics of the circumstellar envelope.the birth of the equatorial density enhancement(EDE)is shown to occur very close to the star where evidence for rotation has been obtained.Close to the star and where outflows have been observed:their interaction with the gas of the nascent EDE is seen to play an important role in the development of the wind and the evolution of its radial velocity from 8 to 10 km s^(-1) on the polar symmetry axis to~2 km s^(-1) at the equator.It implies complex morpho-kinematics:making reliable interpretations with reasonable confidence is difficult.In particular,it questions an earlier interpretation implying the presence of a white dwarf companion orbiting the star at an angular distance of -0″4 from its center.It proposes instead an interpretation in terms of a standard mass ejection associated with a shock wave leaving a void of emission in its wake.High Doppler velocity wings are seen to consist of two components,the upper velocity end of the global wind,reaching above±12 km s^(-1),and an effective line broadening,confined within 200 mas from the center of the star,reaching above±20 km s^(-1) and interpreted as caused by the pattern of shock waves resulting from the interaction between stellar pulsation and convective cell partition.

Influence of different land-use types on selected soil properties related to soil fertility in A Luoi District,thua thien Hue,Vietnam

Land use type affects the physicochemical properties of soil.the value of OM and tN is high in acacia soils.Strong acidity of soil is considered a serious constraint for agriculture.Suitable cash crops are acacia,cassava,banana,rice and maize.Soil fertility is affected by land-use types and land management,which exacerbates soil erosion and various other forms of soil degradation in the mountainous regions of Viet-nam.this study was conducted in A Luoi District,thua thien Hue,Vietnam to identify the effects of land-use types on specific soil physicochemical characteristics related to soil fertility.Soil physicochemical properties,such as organic matter(OM),total nitrogen(tN),total phosphorous(tP),and K+were significantly affected by land-use type.the results showed that the soils were sandy in rice but clay loam for acacia and cassava.the mean bulk density value of acacia soil was significantly greater than that of other soils.tN were higher in the acacia soils than those in the rice,maize,and banana soils.the OM content was significantly higher in the acacia,cassava,and banana soils than those in the rice and maize soils.the mean of exchangeable K+in the rice soil was higher compared to those in other soils and was affected by land-use type.the high exchangeable acidity content in the soils was probably due to intensive precipitation.However,both land use type and management did not affect the CEC value.Overall,the inappropriate land use caused the disturbance of soil physicochemical properties,indicating that the conditions of rice and maize soils are becoming worse than acacia soils.therefore,lowering the intensity of cultivation,adopting incorporated soil fertility management,and applying organic fertilizer should preserve the existing conditions and enhance soil properties.

Dry eye rate and its relationship with disease stage in patients with primary hypertension:a cross-sectional study in Vietnam

AIM:to determine the dry eye(DE)rate and its relationship with disease stage in patients with primary hypertension.MEtHODS:A cross-sectional study included 432 patients with primary hypertension(with an equal number of patients in each group:144 in stage Ⅰ,Ⅱ,and Ⅲ hypertension)and 144 healthy subjects as a control group.the Ocular Surface Disease Index(OSDI)and Schirmer Ⅰ test without anesthetics were conducted on all 576 subjects.Subjects with OSDI scoresto or under 10 mm were diagnosed with DE.RESULtS:the ratio of DE in hypertension patients was higher than in the control group(41.7%versus 18.8%;Pthe proportion of patients with DE increased gradually according to the hypertension stage:27.1% in stage Ⅰ,40.3% in stage Ⅱ,and 57.6% in stage Ⅲ,Ption of hypertension,plasma urea,creatinine,and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(CRP-hs)levels in hypertension patients with DE were higher than those without DE,Ption of hypertension,diabetes mellitus,elevated plasma creatinine,and CRP-hs levels were independent factors associated with DE in primary hypertension patients,Pted with advanced age,a long duration of hypertension,diabetes mellitus,elevated plasma CRP-hs,and creatinine levels in patients with primary hypertension.

Advancing Wound Filling Extraction on 3D Faces:An Auto-Segmentation and Wound Face Regeneration Approach

Facial wound segmentation plays a crucial role in preoperative planning and optimizing patient outcomes in various medical applications.In this paper,we propose an efficient approach for automating 3D facial wound segmentation using a two-stream graph convolutional network.Our method leverages the Cir3D-FaIR dataset and addresses the challenge of data imbalance through extensive experimentation with different loss functions.to achieve accurate segmentation,we conducted thorough experiments and selected a high-performing model from the trainedmodels.the selectedmodel demonstrates exceptional segmentation performance for complex 3D facial wounds.Furthermore,based on the segmentation model,we propose an improved approach for extracting 3D facial wound fillers and compare it to the results of the previous study.Our method achieved a remarkable accuracy of 0.9999993% on the test suite,surpassing the performance of the previous method.From this result,we use 3D printing technology to illustrate the shape of the wound filling.the outcomes of this study have significant implications for physicians involved in preoperative planning and intervention design.By automating facial wound segmentation and improving the accuracy ofwound-filling extraction,our approach can assist in carefully assessing and optimizing interventions,leading to enhanced patient outcomes.Additionally,it contributes to advancing facial reconstruction techniques by utilizing machine learning and 3D bioprinting for printing skin tissue implants.Our source code is available at https://***/SIMOGroup/WoundFilling3D.

目的：评价电针联合其他药物在甲状腺全切除术中提供镇痛和稳定血流动力学参数的有效性和安全性。方法：该随机对照试验囊括了100例患者，这些患者于2022年10月至2023年10月在越南国立针灸医院接受了甲状腺全切除术。患者被随机分为了两组。电针镇痛组（EA）对合谷穴（LI 4）、内关穴（PC 6）、水突穴（St 10）、缺盆穴（St 12）、翳风穴（SJ 17）5个穴位进行了电针刺激，对照组患者进行了双侧浅表颈丛神经阻滞。主要结局包括两组患者的镇痛水平和围手术期生命体征。此外，测定了EA组患者电针前后的疼痛阈值和血清β-内啡肽水平。结果：EA组和对照组分别有86%和76%的患者达到完全镇痛（A级），两组间无显著差异（P=1.00）。EA组患者接受EA后平均疼痛阈值翻倍（648.7(77.4) g/s vs. 305.3 (45.3) g/s, P t 10、St 12和SJ 17，在甲状腺全切除术中耐受良好，有效地维持了适当的镇痛水平和血流动力学稳定性。

昆嵩地体位于印支陆块东部,广泛发育早古生代岩浆作用,是了解东南亚原特提斯洋演化的关键地区。但长久以来此地区原特提斯洋的俯冲极性与时间争议较大。本文对该地体的一套早古生代花岗岩进行了岩相学、锆石U-Pb年代学、锆石原位Hf同位素以及全岩主微量和Sr-Nd-Pb同位素研究。年代学结果显示该套花岗岩的结晶年龄为446～440Ma。花岗岩样品的K2O为2.14%～5.92%, Na2O+K2O为5.49%～8.25%,显示高钾钙碱性特征。其A/CNK值为1.03～1.18,为过铝质S型花岗岩。样品均显示明显的大离子亲石元素（如Rb、th和U等）富集以及高场强元素（如Nb、ta、Sr和ti等）亏损,并具有强烈的Eu负异常（Eu/Eu*=0.23～0.69）。样品呈现变化范围较大的锆石原位Hf同位素组成(εHf（t）=-19.84～+1.99)以及新太古代-中元古代的Hf二阶模式年龄(tDM2=2.70～1.28 Ga),且具有富集的全岩Nd同位素组成(εNd（t）=-10.3～-6.5)。本文研究显示该套早古生代花岗岩是古老变沉积岩和基性变火成岩部分熔融的产物。结合区域地质研究表明,越南中部昆嵩地块早古生代花岗岩形成于俯冲作用下的岛弧背景,响应于区域上印支陆块内部原特提斯三岐–福山洋的南向俯冲过程。

Suppliers play the vital role of ensuring the continuous supply of goods to themarket for businesses.If businesses do not maintain a strong bond with their suppliers,they may not be able to secure a steady supply of goods and products for their customers.As a result of failure to deliver products,the production and business activities of the business can be delayed which leads to the loss of customers.Normally,each trading enterprise will have a variety of commodity supply chains withmultiple suppliers.Suppliers play an important role and contribute to the value of the entire supply chain.Should any supplier encounters a problem,the whole supply chain of businesses will be affected and could lead to not guaranteeing the stable supply to the market.thus,suppliers can be seen as a threat to businesses where they have the ability to increase input prices or decrease the quality of the required products and services they provide.the quantity of the business,and the supply lead time directly affect the operations and reduce the profitability of the business.the paper mainly focuses on the supplier selection problemunder a variety of price level and product families when using a two-phase fuzzy multi-objective linear programming.the objectives of the proposed model are to minimize the total purchasing and ordering cost in order to reduce the quantity of defective materials and the late-delivery components from suppliers.Moreover,the piecewise linear membership function is applied in themodel to determine an optimal solution which is based on the requirement of decision makers under their fuzzy environment.the results of this study can be applied in various business environment and provide a reliable decision tool for choosing potential suppliers relating to these objectives.Based on the results,the company canmake a good decision on supplier selection;therefore,the company can improve the quality and quantity of their final product.this is because,the best supplier can supply raw material using just-in-time application

Embryonic, genetic and clinical outcomes of fresh versus vitrified oocyte: A retrospective cohort study

Objective:to compare embryonic development,ploidy status and clinical outcomes between fresh and frozen-thawed oocytes.Methods:this retrospective cohort study evaluated 83 fertilization cycles including both fresh and frozen oocytes from 79 patients at the HP Fertility Center of Hai Phong International Hospital of Obstetrics and Pediatrics in Vietnam.the patient underwent several ovarian stimulation cycles to accumulate a certain number of oocytes that would be vitrified.In the last oocyte retrieval,all patient’s oocytes including both frozen and fresh would be fertilized.the outcomes included the rates of oocyte survival,cleavage embryo,blastocyst,ploidy status,pregnancy,biochemical pregnancy and clinical pregnancy.Results:the oocyte survival rate after thawing was 96.5%.No statistically significant difference was found when comparing fresh and frozen oocytes regarding fertilization rate(78.1%vs.75.5%,P=0.461),usable cleavage embryo rate(86.9%vs.87.2%,P=0.916)but usable blastocyst rate was found higher statistically in the frozen oocyte group(44.4%vs.54.0%,P=0.049).the percentages of euploid,aneuploid and mosaic embryos between the fresh group and the vitrified group had no significant differences(33.8%vs.31.6%,P=0.682;51.0%vs.54.2%,P=0.569;15.2%vs.12.4%,P=0.787;respectively).the rates of pregnancy,biochemical pregnancy and clinical pregnancy had no statistical difference(68.8%vs.64.8%,P=0.764;12.5%vs.3.6%,P=0.258;37.5%vs.46.4%,P=0.565).17 Mature oocytes are the minimum to have at least one euploid embryo.Conclusions:Oocyte vitrification does not affect embryonic,genetic and clinical results.the number of mature oocytes should be considered for fertilization in some cases.

Water infiltration into soil is an important process in hydrologic cycle;however,its measurement is difficult,time-consuming and costly.Empirical and physical models have been developed to predict cumulative infiltration(CI),but are often inaccurate.In this study,several novel standalone machine learning algorithms(M5Prime(M5P),decision stump(DS),and sequential minimal optimization(SMO))and hybrid algorithms based on additive regression(AR)(i.e.,AR-M5P,AR-DS,and AR-SMO)and weighted instance handler wrapper(WIHW)(i.e.,WIHW-M5P,WIHW-DS,and WIHW-SMO)were developed for CI prediction.the Soil Conservation Service(SCS)model developed by the United States Department of Agriculture(USDA),one of the most popular empirical models to predict CI,was considered as a benchmark.Overall,154 measurements of CI(explanatory/input variables)were taken from 16 sites in a semi-arid region of Iran(Illam and Lorestan provinces).Six input variable combinations were considered based on Pearson correlations between candidate model inputs(time of measuring and soil bulk density,moisture content,and sand,clay,and silt percentages)and CI.the dataset was divided into two subgroups at random:70%of the data were used for model building(training dataset)and the remaining 30%were used for model validation(testing dataset).the various models were evaluated using different graphical approaches(bar charts,scatter plots,violin plots,and taylor diagrams)and quantitative measures(root mean square error(RMSE),mean absolute error(MAE),Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency(NSE),and percent bias(PBIAS)).time of measuring had the highest correlation with CI in the study area.the best input combinations were different for different algorithms.the results showed that all hybrid algorithms enhanced the CI prediction accuracy compared to the standalone models.the AR-M5P model provided the most accurate CI predictions(RMSE=0.75 cm,MAE=0.59 cm,NSE=0.98),while the SCS model had the lowest performance(RMSE=4.77 cm,MAE=2.64 cm,NSE=0.23).the differences in RMSE between the best m
