Biotic and abiotic factors control aboveground biomass(AGB)and the structure of forest *** study analyses the variation of AGB and stand structure of evergreen broadleaved forests among six ecoregions of Vietnam.A data set of 1731-ha plots from 52 locations in undisturbed old-growth forests was *** results indicate that basal area and AGB are closely correlated with annual precipitation,but not with annual temperature,evaporation or hours of *** area and AGB are positively correlated with trees>30 cm *** areas surveyed(52.6%)in these old-growth forests had AGB of 100–200 Mg ha^-1;5.2%had AGB of 400–500 Mg ha^-1,and 0.6%had AGB of>800 Mg ha^-*** percent of the areas surveyed had stand densities of 300–600 ***^-1,and 64%had basal areas of 20–40 m^2 ha^-*** is an important factor influencing the AGB of old-growth,evergreen broadleaved forests in *** causing the loss of large-diameter trees(e.g.,>100 cm DBH)affects AGB but may not seriously affect stand density.

Transfer Learning for Disease Diagnosis from Myocardial Perfusion SPECT Imaging

Coronary artery disease(CAD)is one of the most common pathological conditions and the major global cause of *** perfusion imaging(MPI)using single-photon emission computed tomography(SPECT)is a non-invasive method and plays an essential role in diagnosing ***,there is currently a shortage of doctors who can diagnose using SPECT-MPI in developing countries,especially *** on deploying machine learning and deep learning in supporting CAD diagnosis has been noticed for a long ***,these methods require a large dataset and are therefore time-consuming and *** study aims to develop a cost-effective and high-performance CAD classification model to support doctors in these *** this paper,we propose a transfer learning framework for a multi-stage training process with different learning *** process consists of two training stages:a warming up stage in which all layers of a pre-trained model(on ImageNet dataset)are frozen;and a finetuning stage in which a small amount of the top layers are unfrozen and then retrained with a lower learning *** dataset for this study consists of the polar maps from 218 *** popular CNN-based pre-trained models have been investigated,and ResNet152V2-based model has obtained the highest performances with an accuracy of 95.5%,area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)score 0.932,sensitivity 94.4%,precision 96.4%,and F1-score 95.2%.These performances are competitive or even better than all state-of-the-art approaches in terms of classification accuracy and *** also apply the class activation mapping technique to help explain the model’s predictions and increase the model’s reliability,proving capable of assisting the SPECT image readers in the CAD diagnosis.

Introduction to the China-Vietnam Cooperation Project: A Comparative Study of the Holocene Sedimentary Evolution of the Yangtze and Red River Deltas

Both China and Vietnam confront the challenges of natural geohazards and environmental changes in their deltas and coastal zones due to rapid urbanization, economic development, and the impacts of global climate change. China and Vietnam initiated a comparative study of the Holocene sedimentary evolution of the Yangtze River Delta(YRD) and Red River Delta(RRD) for the period 2015–2018 in order to improve the understanding of the two delta evolution histories in the Holocene. Previous investigative data of the two rivers, onshore delta plains, and offshore subaqueous deltas have been explored and reinterpreted. New data gleaned from boreholes, piston cores, shallow seismic and hydrodynamic sources have been collected from the offshore YRD and the East China Sea inner shelf, and surface sediments and short cores have been collected from the RRD near-shore areas. Six focal areas of the joint project have been defined for comparative studies of the two deltas, including morphological development, sequential stratigraphy, coastline shifting, sedimentary characteristics, sedimentary dynamics, and correlation with anthropogenic global climate change. The results of these study areas are presented herein. The joint project also includes cooperative capacity building; exchanges of young scientists have been organized during the project period, and hands-on training in laboratory geochemical analysis, numerical modeling, and seismic data processing and interpretation have been provided by China and its Vietnamese geoscientist partners. Joint field excursions were organized to the upstream of the Yangtze and Red Rivers in Yunan Province, China, all the way downstream along the Vietnamese portion of the Red River. These joint studies have, over the past three years, improved understanding of the evolutionary history of these two major rivers and their mechanisms of source to sink. Fast interfacial kinetics derived from bicontinuous three-dimensional(3D)architecture is a strategic feature for achieving fast-charging lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).One of the main reasons is its large active surface and short diffusion ***,understanding of unusual electrochemical properties still remain great challenge due to its *** this study,we proposed a nickel–tin compound(Ni_(3)Sn_(4))supported by 3D Nickel scaffolds as main frame because the Ni_(3)Sn_(4) clearly offers a higher reversible capacity and stable cycling performance than bare tin(Sn).In order to verify the role of Ni,atomic-scale simulation based on density functional theory systematically addressed to the reaction mechanism and structural evolution of Ni_(3)Sn_(4) during the lithiation *** findings are that Ni enables Ni_(3)Sn_(4) to possess higher mechanical stability in terms of reactive flow stress,subsequently lead to improve Li storage *** study elucidates an understanding of the lithiation mechanism of Ni_(3)Sn_(4) and provides a new perspective for the design of high-capacity and high-power 3D anodes for fast-charging LIBs.

An updraft gasifier was employed to treat 3 kg of dried rice husk per batch with different types of gasifying agents such as air,steam/air,and air with dolomite catalyst addition at various operating *** H2 content,low heating value,and H2/CO ratio in syngas were compared to determine the most effective solution to enhance the H2 production from rice husk *** presence of dolomite in air gasification produced the highest H2 content in the product gas,up to 15.4 mol%,followed by 7.08 and 3.6 mol%when steam/air and air standalone were used as gasifying agents,*** higher low heating value of syngas 5.1 MJ/Nm3 was observed in catalytic air gasification compared to 3.6 MJ/Nm3 when steam was *** optimal operation condition was reported at an airflow rate of 3 m3/h and a catalyst mixing ratio of 15%.

Dynamic of Polystyrene Microsphere Linking to DNA Molecule under Optical Tweezer

Up to now there are many works investigated the stretched state of deoxyribonucleic axid （DNA） by optical trap. The main purpose of mentioned works is to find out the elastic force-extension characterisitic approximatelly based on the experimental parameters. In experiments, the optical force is seem as an apply force, but not an own elastic force of DNA molecules. To use sufficiently optical tweezer to manipulate and hold the DNA molecules keeping in stretched state, it is necessary to use the elastic as one force contributing to process trapping it, and consequently, the term describing elastic force must be present in the general Langevin equation （GLE） describing the dynamic of driven bead linking to DNA molecule. In this paper, the finite difference equation of GLE is derived for simulation the dynamic of bead linking to DNA molecule embedded in the fluid. The process manipulation of polystyrene bead to tweezer center is simulated and discussed. From results, the role of Brownian force, elastic force and optical force on process trapping driven bead is evaluated. Moreover, the trapping time, velocity of bead are discussed, too.

Prevalence and outcomes of neonates with severe COVID-19:An observational study at Children’s Hospital 1 in Ho Chi Minh City,Vietnam

Objective:To evaluate the impact of the severe COVID-19 pandemic on neonates and develop strategies to improve their ***:We conducted an observational cross-sectional study at Children's Hospital 1(CH1)from July 25,2021,to May 31,*** neonates who had fever or respiratory symptoms or were born from mothers with COVID-19 and had a positive RT-PCR SARS-CoV-2 result would be *** classified neonates with COVID-19 into 2 groups:mild/moderate and severe for *** between groups were analyzed using Fisher's exact test/Chi-square test for categorical variables and Student's t-test/Wilcoxon Rank Sum test for continuous ***:This study included 88 newborns who had positive RT-PCR SARS-CoV-2 *** severity COVID-19 rate among neonatal cases was found to be 13.6%(12/88),with a corresponding mortality rate of 1.1%(1/88).All severe cases showed lung abnormalities as evident on chest X-ray *** addition to respiratory symptoms,a higher incidence of gastrointestinal manifestations,such as vomiting and diarrhea,was observed in the severe group,indicating a compelling *** administration of anticoagulant and anti-inflammatory drugs in the study group resulted in a satisfactory outcome with no significant ***:The COVID-19 pandemic has had a substantial impact on the well-being of *** management of COVID-19 in this population presents significant challenges.

好氧颗粒污泥经钙化处理后用来对水中的Pb2+、Cu2+、Cd2+进行吸附实验.对比了不同pH、吸附时间等对吸附性能及吸附行为的影响.结果表明,钙化好氧颗粒污泥对重金属吸附最佳pH值为5.0,20 min即可达吸附平衡,吸附过程符合Langmuir等温方程和Freundlich等温方程;单一吸附体系中,吸附量依次为Cd2+>Cu2+>Pb2+,而在共存体系中规律则相反;分别以CaCl2、HNO3和HCl为解吸剂,其解吸效率均可达95%以上;羧基、胺基为吸附的主要官能团,磷酸基团处次要地位.
