In this work,a novel refined higher-order shear deformation plate theory is integrated with nonlocal elasticity theory for analyzing the free vibration,bending,and transient behaviors of fluid-infiltrated porous metal foam piezoelectric nanoplates resting on Pasternak elastic foundation with flexoelectric effects.Isogeometric analysis(IGA)and the Navier solution are applied to the problem.The innovation in the present study is that the influence of the in-plane variation of the nonlocal parameter on the free and forced vibration of the piezoelectric nanoplates is investigated for the first time.The nonlocal parameter and material characteristics are assumed to be material-dependent and vary gradually over the thickness of structures.Based on Hamilton’s principle,equations of motion are built,then the IGA approach combined with the Navier solution is used to analyze the static and dynamic response of the nanoplate.Lastly,we investigate the effects of the porosity coefficients,flexoelectric parameters,elastic stiffness,thickness,and variation of the nonlocal parameters on the mechanical behaviors of the rectangular and elliptical piezoelectric nanoplates.

An analytical method for analyzing the thermal vibration of multi-directional functionally graded porous rectangular plates in fluid media with novel porosity patterns is developed in this study.Mechanical properties of MFG porous plates change according to the length,width,and thickness directions for various materials and the porosity distribution which can be widely applied in many fields of engineering and defence technology.Especially,new porous rules that depend on spatial coordinates and grading indexes are proposed in the present work.Applying Hamilton's principle and the refined higher-order shear deformation plate theory,the governing equation of motion of an MFG porous rectangular plate in a fluid medium(the fluid-plate system)is obtained.The fluid velocity potential is derived from the boundary conditions of the fluid-plate system and is used to compute the extra mass.The GalerkinVlasov solution is used to solve and give natural frequencies of MFG porous plates with various boundary conditions in a fluid medium.The validity and reliability of the suggested method are confirmed by comparing numerical results of the present work with those from available works in the literature.The effects of different parameters on the thermal vibration response of MFG porous rectangular plates are studied in detail.These findings demonstrate that the behavior of the structure within a liquid medium differs significantly from that within a vacuum medium.Thereby,they offer appropriate operational approaches for the structure when employed in various mediums.

BACKGROUND Sessile serrated lesions(SSLs)are considered precancerous colorectal lesions that should be detected and removed to prevent colorectal cancer.Previous studies in Vietnam mainly investigated the adenoma pathway,with limited data on the serrated pathway.AIM To evaluate the prevalence,risk factors,and BRAF mutations of SSLs in the Vietnamese population.METHODS This is a cross-sectional study conducted on patients with lower gastrointestinal symptoms who underwent colonoscopy at a tertiary hospital in Vietnam.SSLs were diagnosed on histopathology according to the 2019 World Health Organi-zation classification.BRAF mutation analysis was performed using the Sanger DNA sequencing method.The multivariate logistic regression model was used to determine SSL-associated factors.RESULTS There were 2489 patients,with a mean age of 52.1±13.1 and a female-to-male ratio of 1:1.1.The prevalence of SSLs was 4.2%[95%confidence interval(CI):3.5-5.1].In the multivariate analysis,factors significantly associated with SSLs were age≥40[odds ratio(OR):3.303;95%CI:1.607-6.790],male sex(OR:2.032;95%CI:1.204-3.429),diabetes mellitus(OR:2.721;95%CI:1.551-4.772),and hypertension(OR:1.650,95%CI:1.045-2.605).The rate of BRAF mutations in SSLs was 35.5%.CONCLUSION The prevalence of SSLs was 4.2%.BRAF mutations were present in one-third of SSLs.Significant risk factors for SSLs included age≥40,male sex,diabetes mellitus,and hypertension.

The main objective of this study is to further extend the mixed integration smoothed quadrilateral element with 20 unknowns of displacement(MISQ20)to investigate the nonlinear dynamic responses of functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced composite(FG-CNTRC)plates with four types of carbon nanotube distributions.The smooth finite element method is used to enhance the accuracy of the Q4 element and avoid shear locking without using any shear correction factors.This method yields accurate results even if the element exhibits a concave quadrilateral shape and reduces the error when the element meshing is rough.Additionally,the element stiffness matrix is established by integrating the boundary of the smoothing domains.The motion equation of the FG-CNTRC plates is solved by adapting the Newmark method combined with the Newton–Raphson algorithm.Subsequently,the calculation program is coded in the MATLAB software and verified by comparing it with other published solutions.Finally,the effects of the input parameters on the nonlinear vibration of the plates are investigated.

This paper for first time proposes an isogeometric analysis (IGA) for free vibration response of bi-directional functionally graded (BDFG) rectangular plates in the fluid medium. Material properties of the BDFG plate change in both the thickness and length directions via power-law distributions and Mori-Tanaka model. The governing equation of motion of BDFG plate in the fluid-plate system is formulated basing on Hamilton's principle and the refined quasi three-dimensional (3D) plate theory with improved function f(z). The fluid velocity potential is derived from the boundary conditions of the fluid-plate system and is used to determine the added mass. The discrete system of equations is derived from the Galerkin weak form and numerically analyzed by IGA. The accuracy and reliability of the proposed solutions are verified by comparing the obtained results with those published in the literature. Moreover, the effects of the various parameters such as the interaction boundary condition, geometric parameter, submerged depth of plate, fluid density, fluid level, and the material volume control coefficients on the free vibration behavior of BDFG plate in the fluid medium are investigated in detail. Some major findings regarding the numerical results are withdrawn in conclusions.

Wastewater containing an azo dye Orange G(OG)causes massive environmental pollution,thus it is critical to develop a highly effective,environmental-friendly,and reusable catalyst in peroxymonosulfate(PMS)activation for OG degradation.In this work,we successfully applied a magnetic MnFe_(2)O_(4)/α-MnO_(2) hybrid fabricated by a simple hydrothermal method for OG removal in water.The characteristics of the hybrid were investigated by Xray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,Brunauer–Emmett–Teller method,vibrating sample magnetometry,electron paramagnetic resonance,thermogravimetric analysis,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.The effects of operational parameters(i.e.,catalytic system,catalytic dose,solution pH,and temperature)were investigated.The results exhibited that 96.8% of OG degradation was obtained with MnFe_(2)O_(4)/α-MnO2(1:9)/PMS system in 30 min regardless of solution pH changes.Furthermore,the possible reaction mechanism of the coupling system was proposed,and the degradation intermediates of OG were identified by mass spectroscopy.The radical quenching experiments and EPR tests demonstrated that SO_(4)•̶,O_(2)•̶,and 1O2 were the primary reactive oxygen species responsible for the OG degradation.The hybrid also displayed unusual stability with less than 30%loss in the OG removal after four sequential cycles.Overall,magnetic MnFe2O4/α-MnO2 hybrid could be used as a high potential activator of PMS to remove orange G and maybe other dyes from wastewater.

Electro-hydraulic actuators(EHA)have recently played a signiﬁcant role in modern industrial applications,especially in systems requiring extremely high precision.This can be explained by EHA’s ability to precisely control the position and force through advanced sensors and innovative control algorithms.One of the promising approaches to improve control accuracy for EHA systems is applying classical to modern control algorithms,in which the proportional–inte-gral–derivative(PID)algorithm,fuzzy logic controller,and a hybrid of these methods are popular options.In this paper,we developed a novel version of the fuzzy control algorithm and linear feedback control method,namely fuzzy lin-ear feedback control,to improve the control performance.To achieve the highest performance,weﬁrst designed a mathematical EHA model based on the Matlab/Simulink software packages thanks to the selected parameters,which are similar to a real EHA system.Then,we respectively applied PID,fuzzy PID(FPID),and fuzzy linear feedback control(FLFC)before comparing them to have a full view of the outstanding advantages of the proposed algorithm.The simulation results showed that the proposed FLFC algorithm is approximately 99%and 77%super-ior in performance to the PID and feedback control algorithms,respectively.

BACKGROUND Chylothorax is an uncommon condition in which chyle leaks into the pleural cavity,and biliary peritonitis is a rare complication of thoracic duct embolization in clinical practice.CASE SUMMARY We describe the case of a 50-year-old woman who presented with chylothorax and underwent thoracic duct embolization using a coil and a mixture of histoacryl glue and lipiodol.The patient developed upper abdominal pain and fever after the intervention.She was diagnosed with biliary peritonitis and treated with cholecystectomy at Hanoi Medical University Hospital.CONCLUSION Although thoracic duct embolization is considered a safe and minimally invasive procedure,it is not without risk.Following thoracic duct embolization,severe or persistent abdominal pain should be explored utilizing imaging data and laboratory results to determine problems as soon as possible.
