Preparation of solar-enhanced AlZnO@carbon nano-substrates for remediation of textile wastewaters

Photoactive aluminum doped ZnO(AlZnO)was synthesized by sol-gel *** that,AlZnO photocatalyst was deposited on five carbon-based materials(CBms)using ultrasonic route followed by solid-state mixing using ball *** CBms used were poly aniline(PANI),carbon nitride(CN),carbon nanotubes(CNT),graphene(G),and carbon nanofibers(CNF).The crystal phases,elemental compositions,morphological,and optical properties of the AlZnO@CBms composites were *** results revealed that two of AlZnO@CBms composites exhibited superior bleaching efficiency(100%removal)and photocatalytic stability(three cycles)for 50μmol/L methylene Blue(mB)contaminated water after 60 min irradiation in visible light at pH 6.5,0.7%H2O2,and 5 g/L inorganic *** optimum conditions,AlZnO@CBms nanocomposites were employed for the treatment of mixed dyestuffs composed of mB,methyl Orange(mO),Astrazone Blue FRR(BB 69),and Rhodamine B(RhB)dyes under dark,ultraviolet,visible,and direct *** mixed dyestuffs,the AlZnO@G achieved the highest dye sorption capacity(60.91μmol dye stuffs/g)with kinetic rate 8.22×10^-3 min^-1 in 90 min via multi-layer physisorption(Freundlich isotherm)on graphene *** additions,AlZnO@CN offered the highest photo-kinetic rate(Kphoto)of^54.1×10^-3 min^-1(93.8%after 60 min)under direct ***,the selective radical trapping experiment confirmed that the holes and oxidative superoxide radicals are crucial on dyes photodegradation *** to their superior performance,AlZnO@G and AlZnO@CN nanocomposites can offer an effective in-situ solar-assisted adsorption/photocatalytic remediation of textile wastewater effluents.

Alterations of normal function of interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) are reported in many intestinal disorders. Diagnosis of their involvement is rare (infrequent), but necessary to propose a specifi c treatment. This article reviews the place of ICC in the pathogenesis of achalasia, gastroesophageal reflux disease, infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis, chronic intestinal pseudoobstruction and slow transit constipation. moreover we discuss the role of the Cajal cells in the development of stromal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract.

Analysis and Classification of Fake News Using Sequential Pattern mining

Disinformation,often known as fake news,is a major issue that has received a lot of attention *** researchers have proposed effective means of detecting and addressing *** machine and deep learning based methodologies for classification/detection of fake news are content-based,network(propagation)based,or multimodal methods that combine both textual and visual *** introduce here a framework,called FNACSPm,based on sequential pattern mining(SPm),for fake news analysis and *** this framework,six publicly available datasets,containing a diverse range of fake and real news,and their combination,are first transformed into a proper ***,algorithms for SPm are applied to the transformed datasets to extract frequent patterns(and rules)of words,phrases,or linguistic *** obtained patterns capture distinctive characteristics associated with fake or real news content,providing valuable insights into the underlying structures and commonalities of ***,the discovered frequent patterns are used as features for fake news *** framework is evaluated with eight classifiers,and their performance is assessed with various *** experiments were performed and obtained results show that FNACSPm outperformed other state-of-the-art approaches for fake news classification,and that it expedites the classification task with high accuracy.

On the Stability of Racing Sailing Boats with Foils

The development of foils for racing boats has changed the strategy of sailing. Recently, the America＇s cup held in San Francisco, has been the theatre of a tragicomic history due to the foils. During the last round, the New-Zealand boat was winning by 8 to 1 against the defender USA. The winner is the first with 9 victories. USA team understood suddenly （may be） how to use the control of the pitching of the inain foils by adjusting the rake in order to stabilize the ship. And USA won by 9 victories against 8 to the challenger NZ. The goal in this paper is to point out few aspects which could be taken into account in order to improve this mysterious control law which is known as the key of the victory of the USA team. There are certainly many reasons and in particular the cleverness of the sailors and of all the engineering team behind this project. But it appears interesting to have a mathematical discussion, even if it is a partial one, on the mechanical behaviour of these extraordinary sailing boats. The nunlerical exanlples given here are not the true ones. They have just been invented in order to explain the theoretical developments concerning three points： The possibility of tacking on the foils for sailing upwind, the nature of foiling instabilities, if there are, when the boat is flying and the control laws.

Global significance of oxygen and carbon isotope compositions of pedogenic carbonates since the Cretaceous

Few global syntheses of oxygen and carbon isotope composition of pedogenic carbonates have been attempted,unlike marine *** carbonates represent in-situ indicators of the climate conditions prevailing on *** δ^(18)O and δ^(13)C values of pedogenic carbonates are controlled by local and global factors,many of them not affecting the marine carbonates largely used to probe global climate *** compile pedogenic oxygen and carbon isotopic data(N=12,167)fromCretaceous to Quaternary-aged paleosols to identify potential trends through time and tie them to possible controlling *** discrete events such as the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal maximum are clearly evidenced,our analysis reveals an increasing complexity in the distribution of the δ^(18)O vs δ^(13)C values through the *** could be expected,the rise of C4 plants induces a shift towards higherδ13C values during the Neogene and *** also show that the increase in global hypsometry during the Neogene plays a major role in controlling the δ^(18)O and δ^(13)C values of pedogenic carbonates by increasing aridity downwind of orographic ***,during the Quaternary,an increase of 3‰in δ^(18)O values is recorded both by the pedogenic carbonates and the marine foraminifera suggesting that both indicators may be used to track global climate signal.

Inmarkov Chainmonte Carlo(mCmC)simulations,thermal equilibria quantities are estimated by ensemble average over a sample set containing a large number of correlated *** samples are selected in accordance with the probability distribution function,known from the partition function of equilibrium *** the stochastic error of the simulation results is significant,it is desirable to understand the variance of the estimation by ensemble average,which depends on the sample size(i.e.,the total number of samples in the set)and the sampling interval(i.e.,cycle number between two consecutive samples).Although large sample sizes reduce the variance,they increase the computational cost of the *** a given CPU time,the sample size can be reduced greatly by increasing the sampling interval,while having the corresponding increase in variance be negligible if the original sampling interval is very *** this work,we report a few general rules that relate the variance with the sample size and the sampling *** results are observed and confirmed *** variance rules are derived for themCmCmethod but are also valid for the correlated samples obtained using other monte Carlo *** main contribution of this work includes the theoretical proof of these numerical observations and the set of assumptions that lead to them.

Stem cells for liver tissue repair:Current knowledge and perspectives

Stem cells from extra-or intrahepatic sources have been recently characterized and their usefulness for the generation of hepatocyte-like lineages has been demonstrated. Therefore, they are being increasingly considered for future applications in liver cell therapy. In that field, liver cell transplantation is currently regarded as a possible alternative to whole organ transplantation, while stem cells possess theoretical advantages on hepatocytes as they display higher in vitro culture performances and could be used in autologous transplant procedures. However, the current research on the hepatic fate of stem cells is still facing difficulties to demonstrate the acquisition of a full mature hepatocyte phenotype, both in vitro and in vivo. Furthermore, the lack of obvious demonstration of in vivo hepatocyte-like cell functionality remains associated to low repopulation rates obtained after current transplantation procedures. The present review focuses on the current knowledge of the stem cell potential for liver therapy. We discuss the characteristics of the principal cell candidates and the methods to demonstrate their hepatic potential in vitro and in vivo. We finally address the question of the future clinical applications of stem cells for liver tissue repair and the technical aspects that remain to be investigated.

Preliminary experience of helical tomotherapy for locally advanced pancreatic cancer

Radiotherapy for locally advanced pancreatic cancer is technically difficult and frequently associated with high-grade digestive *** tomotherapy(HT)is a new irradiation modality that combines megavoltage computed tomography imaging for patient positioning with intensity-modulated fan-beam *** recent availability opens new fields of exploration for pancreatic radiotherapy as a result of its ability to tailor very well-defined dose distributions around the target ***,we report the use of HT in two patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer. Doses to the bowel,kidneys and liver were reduced significantly,which allowed for excellent treatment tolerance without any high-grade adverse effects in either patient.
