Peripheral nerve injuries(PNI)in the lower extremity are an uncommon but highly morbid *** advances in our understanding of nerve physiology and microsurgical techniques have inspired renewed faith in nerve surgery and sparked a creative renaissance in the tools,approaches,and reconstructive schemas available to surgeons in the management of lower extremity *** this article,we review the literature and provide a principles-based approach for the surgical management of lower extremity PNIs with an emphasis on techniques for functional reconstruction after complete nerve *** principles in management include early diagnosis with electrodiagnostics and imaging,early surgical exploration,and opting for nerve and tendon transfers when primary reconstruction of the injured nerve is unfavorable(e.g.,delayed reconstruction,unavailability of proximal or distal nerve stumps,or long regenerative distance).The goal of functional reconstruction should be to restore independent gait,so understanding the roles of major neuromuscular units during the gait cycle informs the selection of donor nerves and tendons for *** on these principles and literature to date,specific algorithms for surgical management are presented for femoral,sciatic,tibial,and common peroneal *** recognize limitations of the current literature,namely the predominance of case series evidence,and call for the accrual of more patient data in surgical management of PNIs.

The neuroanatomy of the mid-sized theropod Sinosaurus triassicus from the Lower jurassic Lufeng Formation, Lufeng Basin in Yunnan Province, China was studied using X-ray computed tomography. The braincase is characterized by a large supraoccipital knob that is capped by a posterior projection of the parietal and two external foramina for the caudal middle cerebral vein, which is completely enclosed by the supraoccipital. The basicranium has well defined, short basipterygoid processes that project ventral to the basal tubera. The basisphenoid is expanded, projects posteroventrally, and is pierced by four pneumatic recesses. The endocranial morphology resembles that observed in other basal theropods—in particular some allosauroids—and has a strongly marked pontine flexure and a large dorsal expansion. The inner ear morphology is also similar to that observed in other basal theropods, with slender semicircular canals. The anterior semicircular canal is 20% larger than the posterior semicircular canal, and the angle formed between them is less than 90° when seen in dorsal view.

Preventing obesity could be done by lowering plasma TAG that inhibits adipogenesis. Oat and mushroom beta-glucans in the diet has been reported to lower plasma lipid;however the data focusing on their effects on TAG and obesity are insufficient. In the present study, lowering plasma triacylglycerol, fat deposition, body weight gain (BWG) in rats fed a high fat diet (HFD) was evaluated. Rats in the control group were given HFD only and rats in the treatment group fed HFD enriched with 0.2%, 0.6% and 1.8% (wt:wt) beta-glucan from oats (LD-O, MD-O, HD-O) or mushroom (LD-M, MD-M, HD-M). After 6 weeks dietary intervention, the rats fed HD-M showed significantly lower plasma TAG, total fat mass, white adipose tissue, inguinal fat and BWG level more than HD-O treated rats (p chanism in lowering plasma TAG, fat pad masses and BWG in HD-M was increasing ratio of fat faecal to faecal weight which was significantly higher than HD-O (p < 0.05). This study demonstrated that the preventing obesity via lowering plasma TAG and fat deposition was different depending on beta-glucan origin, either from oats and Shiitake mushroom.

Background:Liver transplantation(LT)for neuroendocrine liver metastases(NELM)is still in *** comparing LT with liver resection(LR)for NELM are scarce,as patient selection is heterogeneous and experience is *** goal of this review was to provide a critical analysis of the evidence on LT versus LR in the treatment of *** sources:A scoping literature search on LT and LR for NELM was performed with PubMed,including English articles up to March ***:International guidelines recommend LR for NELM in resectable,well-differentiated tumors in the absence of extrahepatic metastatic disease with superior results of LR compared to systemic or liver-directed *** liver surgery has extended resectability criteria whilst entailing increased perioperative risk and short disease-free *** highly selected patients(based on the Milan criteria)with unresectable NELM,oncologic results of LT are *** factors include tumor biology(G1/G2)and burden,waiting time for LT,patient age and extrahepatic *** on low-level evi-dence,LT for low-grade NELM within the Milan criteria resulted in improved disease-free survival and overall survival compared to *** benefits of LT were lost in patients beyond the Milan ***:With adherence to strict selection criteria especially tumor biology,LT for NELM is becoming a valuable option providing oncologic benefits compared to *** evidence suggests even stricter selection criteria with regard to tumor biology.

Transcontinental e-VLBI observations were conducted in june 2008 with telescopes in Australia, China and japan. Detections were made of the radio-loud quasar PKS B0727-115, which shows superlu- minal motion, and the intra-day variable quasar PKS B0524＋034. The latter source was used as a phase reference calibrator for observations at the position of the gamma-ray burst GRB 080409, for which an upper limit to the radio emission is set. Australia Telescope Compact Array data were also used to derive a limit on the radio flux density of the GRB afterglow. These observations demonstrate the capability to form a large Australasian radio telescope network for e-VLBI, with data transported and processed in realtime over high capacity networks. This campaign represents the first step towards more regular e-VLBI observations in this region.

Boosting Adaptive Weighted Broad Learning System for Multi-Label Learning

Multi-label classification is a challenging problem that has attracted significant attention from researchers, particularly in the domain of image and text attribute annotation. However, multi-label datasets are prone to serious intra-class and inter-class imbalance problems, which can significantly degrade the classification performance. To address the above issues, we propose the multi-label weighted broad learning system(MLW-BLS) from the perspective of label imbalance weighting and label correlation mining. Further, we propose the multi-label adaptive weighted broad learning system(MLAW-BLS) to adaptively adjust the specific weights and values of labels of MLW-BLS and construct an efficient imbalanced classifier set. Extensive experiments are conducted on various datasets to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed model, and the results demonstrate its superiority over other advanced approaches.
