To support the monitoring and reporting processes during imple-mentation of the Sustainable Development Goals,well-developed,commonly recognized Earth observations and geospatial data,methods,innovations,committed professionals,and strong sus-tainability policies are *** article informs the readers on the Earth observation and geoinformation developments and innovations,and on the engagement of profession,academy and governance to support implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in ***,analyses and critical assessments are given on the elements selected from Hungarian sustainable-oriented Earth observation and geospatial novelties:(a)Working Group for Sustainable Development mission and national sustainabilitypolicy,(b)international partnerships,domestic activities and achievements,(c)status of the professional education,(d)spatial databases and services to support implementation of the sustain-able development,(e)a case study on the internationally recog-nized soil geoinformation system,(f)national Earth Observation Information System and perspectives of its applications for mon-itoring the *** article conclusion strongly advises the Hungarian realization of(a)institutionalization of the Earth observation and geospatial tools and capacity for sustainable development,(b)their use in integration with statistical data,(c)establishment of national spatial information infrastructure and(d)development and spreading of the use of big data.

Chromothripsis:an emerging crossroad from aberrant mitosis to therapeutic opportunities

In vivo and ex vivo confocal endomicroscopy of pancreatic cystic lesions: A prospective study

To investigate the reproducibility of the in vivo endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) - guided needle based confocal endomicroscopy (nClE) image patterns in an ex vivo setting and compare these to surgical histopathology for characterizing pancreatic cystic lesions (PCls).METHODSIn a prospective study evaluating EUS-nClE for evaluation of PCls, 10 subjects underwent an in vivo nClE (AQ-Flex nClE miniprobe; Cellvizio, MaunaKea, Paris, France) during EUS and ex vivo probe based ClE (pClE) of the PCl (Gastroflex ultrahigh definition probe, Cellvizio) after surgical resection. Biopsies were obtained from ex vivo ClE-imaged areas for comparative histopathology. All subjects received intravenous fluorescein prior to EUS and pancreatic surgery for in vivo and ex vivo ClE imaging *** total of 10 subjects (mean age 53 ± 12 years; 5 female) with a mean PCl size of 34.8 ± 14.3 mm were enrolled. Surgical histopathology confirmed 2 intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs), 3 mucinous cystic neoplasms (MCNs), 2 cystic neuroendocrine tumors (cystic-NETs), 1 serous cystadenoma (SCA), and 2 squamous lined PCls. Characteristic in vivo nClE image patterns included papillary projections for IPMNs, horizon-type epithelial bands for MCNs, nests and trabeculae of cells for cystic-NETs, and a “fern pattern” of vascularity for SCA. Identical image patterns were observed during ex vivo pClE imaging of the surgically resected PCls. Both in vivo and ex vivo ClE imaging findings correlated with surgical *** vivo nClE patterns are reproducible in ex vivo pClE for all major neoplastic PCls. These findings add further support the application of EUS-nClE as an imaging biomarker in the diagnosis of PCls.

Genetic Analysis of ele Mutants and Comparative Mapping of ele1 locus in the Control of Organ Internal Asymmetry in Garden Pea

Previous study has shown that during zygomorphic development in garden pea （Pisum sativum l.）, the organ internal （IN） asymmetry of lateral and ventral petals was regulated by a genetic locus, SYMMETRIC PETAl 1 （SYP1）, while the dorsoventral （DV） asymmetry was determined by two CYC-like TCP genes or the PsCYC genes, KEElED WINGS （K） and lOBED STANDARD 1 （lST1）. In this study, two novel loci, ElEPHANT EAR-lIKE lEAF 1 （ElE1） and ElE2 were characterized. These mutants exhibit a similar defect of IN asymmetry as syp1 in lateral and ventral petals, but also display pleiotropic effects of enlarged organ size. Genetic analysis showed that ElE1 and ElE2 were involved in same genetic pathway and the enlarged size of petals but not compound leaves in e/e2 was suppressed by introducing k and Ist1, indicating that the enlargement of dorsal petal in e/e2 requires the activities of K and lST1. An experimental framework of comparative genomic mapping approach was set up to map and clone ljElE1 locus in lotus japonicus. Cloning the ElE1 gene will shed light on the underlying molecular mechanism during zygomorphic development and further provide the molecular basis for genetic improvement on legume crops.

The Use of Far Infrared Treatment Prior to Exercise in Horses: An mfBIA and Acoustic Myography Three Case Study

Background: Acute effects of Far Infrared (FIR) treatment in horses are unknown, especially short periods of 30 minutes, as is any effect on such muscle parameters as warm-up balance, overall exercise balance and laterality asymmetries. Aim: This study examines three equine cases in detail to measure any effects of a short period of FIR treatment. Methods: Multi-frequency bioimpedance (mfBIA) and acoustic myography (AMG), non-invasive techniques, were applied pre- and post-treatment with FIR to the back (T5-l4/5) and for *** dorsi and *** medius was recorded during a 15-minute warm-up regimen. mfBIA parameters included extracellular resistance (Re), centre frequency (fc), membrane capacitance (Mc), intracellular resistance (Ri) and phase angle (PA) which indicates level of training and health status. Results: FIR treatment responses for mfBIA parameters were found to be horse-specific and different, whilst in terms of AMG, FIR treatment for 30 minutes had a beneficial effect on overall balance in all three horses (5 out of 6 muscles), and a beneficial effect on the AMG parameter ST (force symmetry) in all three horses (6 out of 6 muscles). An overall improvement for combined balance and ST values for both muscles and all three horses of 86% was noted with FIR treatment, compared to 56% without. Conclusions: This preliminary study of FIR treatment in three horses, has been found to result in an overall improvement in combined balance and ST values for both muscles. FIR has potential as a promising treatment to reduce the risk of warm-up-related injuries in athletic horses.

Physical and Metals Impact of Traditional Gold Mining on Soils in Kombo-laka Area (Meiganga, Cameroon)

Concentrations of metals (As, Cr, Cd, Fe, Ni, Pb, Sb, and Zn) in soil samples from Kombo-laka were investigated. The area under study is subjected to traditional gold mining and receives various wastes from miners and mining activities. Direct observations on the field displayed the destruction of soils by this activity. An assessment of pollution was performed using an Enrichment Factor (EF) and geoaccumulation index (Igeo). levels of As, Cr, Cd, Cu, Pb and Sb in soil samples were above average in the Upper Continental Crust (UCC). EF revealed anthropogenic sources for Cd, As and Sb in these soils. Igeo indicates that Kombo-laka soils are moderately to extremely polluted with As and Sb. There are high to very high positive correlations among the metals suggesting their possible common sources. This study reveals that traditional gold mining activities in the area are harmful to the environment.
