Two amphibian species,Megophrys daweimontisandAmolops vitreus,are recorded for the ifrst time from Vietnam, on the basis of a new amphibian collection from Dien Bien and Son La provinces. In addition, acoustic analysis ofA. vitreus is also provided based on the advertisement calls recorded in Muong Nhe Nature Reserve of Dien Bien Province, Vietnam.

Modified BCR sequential extraction, single equilibrium-based EDTA extraction and kinetic fractionation were used for estimating the Pb and Cd availability in a series of soil samples from 3 sites located in urban areas of Hanoi (Vietnam). These schemes were compared to identify a simple, rapid and cheap protocol for routine estimation of Pb and Cd remobilizable fraction and the related potential risk. The comparison of these three approaches revealed their convergence in terms of mobility patterns observed for Pb and Cd. Cd was characterized by higher extractibality and mobility whatever the approach. Pb was distinguished of Cd by its high association to Feoxides, lower extractability, lower rate of desorption and then lower mobility. For this environmental scenario, EDTA single scheme at equilibrium could be suggested as the best suited and a simple protocol for determination of the labile pool of Cd and Pb. The pseudo-total concentrations of Pb and Cd are actually below the Vietnamese standard level, contrary to the results obtained by other authors for agricultural soils at other urban sites of Hanoi.

Surgical sperm retrieval(SSR)is currently one of the most common procedures in in vitro fertilization(IVF).However,a gap between the guidelines and routine clinical practice regarding antibiotic use in sSR,which might lead to antibiotic resistance,is a challenging problem worldwide.A cross-sectional survey was conducted from May 1,2021,to July 15,2021,to investigate antibiotic usage by medical professionals when performing SSR in IVF centers in *** confidential questionnaire comprised 12 items,including characteristics of the study population,awareness of antimicrobial resistance,attitude toward prescribing antibiotics,and current practice of prescribing antibiotics when performing *** were completed by 30 of 45 registered IVF centers(66.7%).Among 67 physicians working at those centers,the age and work-experience years(mean±standard deviation[s.d.])were 38.6±6.6 years and 11.2±7.0 years,*** 60%of them held a degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology,and over four-fifths were *** respondents"often/very often/always"raised awareness of antimicrobial resistance to their patients(83.3%),but only half of them"often/occasionally"prescribed antibiotics to patients with SSR in cases where the prescription would be *** one-tenth of respondents followed the recommendation from the American Urological Association using"prophylaxis only"for SSR *** more invasive SSR,physicians tended to prescribe more complicated and sometimes inappropriate *** conclusion,antibiotic usage in SSR was not always appropriate among IVF *** studies may define specific recommendations for regimens,intervention strategies,and programs to promote appropriate antibiotic use for SSR patients among IVF specialists.

奠边位于越南西北部边境,是一个山区省份,北面毗邻中国云南,西方紧挨老挝丰沙里,是越南唯一临近两国边界的省份。其地形复杂,主要由沿着越-老边境的朝西的山岭所构成,并与山岭相交叉的山谷与狭窄的河溪,遍布了全省的各个区域。奠边是一个较大的文化中心,其地理位置以及文化表征独特。自古以来,居住于奠边的各个民族已建立起丰富多彩的生活文化和独特的建筑形态,并且传承、保留至今天。奠边民族的村落及传统建筑形成独特的文化空间,具有很高的研究价值。奠边建筑的丰富性由传统居楼空间的布局和建筑风貌所表现出来,在居楼的建造和民居分布方面也表现出共性和个性的相互融合。奠边省是由莱洲、老街、山萝、安沛以及和平一部分所组成的西北文化区的其中省。在这个文化区内,二十多个民族一起居住,其中傣族是突出的一个民族,能够代表整个西北地区文化特征。同时,各民族之间的频繁接触,不但加强了他们之间的了解,更促进了不同文化的相互传播。奠边是傣语族文化,孟-高棉语族文化,苗瑶语族文化,越孟语族文化等其他语族文化相互交融形成的一种新的,在地里相连的,具有共同区域特设的新型区域文化。在奠边文化产生发展的过程中,奠边本土的传统村落与民居景观经历了傣语族文化主导文化的推进过程,最终形成了具有独特地域特设的奠边文化景观。本文通过文化地理学的视角来研究奠边地区传统村落及民居,通过文化地理的研究和分析方法来描述村落及民居并分析其现象背后的动因。本文主要的研究内容分为以下三部分：一、构建奠边地区传统村落及民居文化地理学数据库并绘制文化地理学图册;二、奠边地区传统村落及民居文化区划分;三、奠边地区传统村落及民居的演化规律及其成因分析。本文的研究总结出两点结论：一、奠边地区的传统村落及民居以傣族文化为核心,受到赫蒙文化,克木文化,等多元文化的影响呈现出独具一格的地域文化特色;二、奠边地区传统村落及民居的独特性与文化区之间的差异性,建立在当地特有的自然地理条件和人文地理条件之上。

Enteroviruses(EVs)species A are a major public health issue in the Asia–Pacific region and cause frequent epidemics of hand,foot and mouth disease(HFMD)in *** infections are common in children;however,HFMD can also cause severe illness that affects the central nervous *** molecularly characterize EVs,a prospective HFMD virological surveillance program was performed in China between 2013 and *** swabs,rectal swabs and stool samples were collected from suspected HFMD patients at participating *** were detected using generic real-time and nested reverse transcription-polymerase chain reactions(RT-PCRs).Then,the complete VP1 regions of enterovirus A71(EV-A71),coxsackievirus A16(CVA16)and CVA6 were sequenced to analyze amino acid changes and construct a viral molecular *** the 2836 enrolled HFMD patients,2,517(89%)were EV *** most frequently detected EVs were CVA16(32.5%,819),CVA6(31.2%,785),and EV-A71(20.4%,514).The subgenogroups CVA16B1 b,CVA6D3 a and EV-A71C4 a were predominant in China and recombination was not observed in the VP1 *** analysis revealed amino acid variations at the 30,29 and 44 positions in the VP1 region of EV-A71,CVA16 and CVA6(compared to the respective prototype strains Br Cr,G10 and Gdula),***,in 21 of 24(87.5%)identified EV-A71 samples,a known amino acid substitution(D31 N)that may enhance neurovirulence was *** study provides insights about the genetic characteristics of common HFMD-associated ***,the emergence and virulence of the described mutations require further investigation.

Groundwater resources have considerable influences on the human population and socioeconomic development of Vietnam and the Mekong River Delta(MRD). this paper presents an overview of the relationship between climate change and groundwater in the MRD, including the challenges, strategies and technical measures. Our results showed that groundwater levels are related to other climate and hydrological variables(i.e., rainfall, river levels, etc.); therefore, the impacts of climate change on the groundwater resources of the Mekong delta are significant, especially on groundwater recharge. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that groundwater development in the future should focus on reducing groundwater harvesting, enhancing groundwater quantity by establishing artificial works and exploiting surface water. this study suggests that the Artificial Neural Network(ANN) model is an effective tool for forecasting groundwater levels in periods of 1 month and 3 months for aquifers in the natural and tidal regime areas of the delta.

Structural and luminescent properties of (Eu,Tb) PO_4·H_2O nanorods/nanowires prepared by microwave technique

Nanowires/nanorods of europium/terbium orthophosphate monohydrate with Eu^3＋ concentration of 6, 11, and 20 at.% were prepared by microwave synthesis method. The effects of Eu^3＋ doping concentration on structure, morphology and optical properties of nanomaterials were also investigated. The results showed that, for all studied Eu^3＋ doping concentrations, a single-crystalline phase of rhabdophane-type （Eu,Tb）PO4·H2O nanowires/nanorods was obtained by using microwave heating of an aqueous solution of terbium（Ⅲ） nitrate, europium（Ⅲ） nitrate and NH4H2PO4 with pH=2. The length and width of these nanowires/nanorods ranged from 150 to 300 nm and from 10 to 50 nm, respectively. The evidence of energy transfer from Tb^3＋ to Eu^3＋ due to the energy overlap between the donor Tb^3＋ and the acceptor Eu^3＋was observed obviously via a significant enhancement in the luminescent intensity of Eu^3＋. Seasonal Effects of Backscattering Intensity of ALOS-2 PALSAR-2 (L-Band) on Retrieval Forest Biomass in the Tropics

this research has used the L-band radar from ALOS-2 PALSAR-2 and field work data for evaluation of seasonal effects of backscattering intensity on retrieval forest biomass in the tropics. The effects of seasonality and HH, and HV polarizations of the SAR data on the biomass were analyzed. The dry season HV polarization could explain 61% of the biomass in this study region. The dry season HV backscattering intensity was highly sensitive to the biomass compared to the rainy season backscattering intensity. The SAR data acquired in the rainy season with humid and wet canopies were not very sensitive to the in situ biomass. Strong dependence of the biomass estimates with season of SAR data acquisition confirmed that the choice of right season SAR data is very important for improving the satellite based estimates of the biomass. this research expects that the results obtained in this research will contribute to monitoring of the quantity and quality of forest biomass in Vietnam and other tropical countries.
