It is a general knowledge that French as a language is widely spoken internationally whereas Urhobo is mainly spoken in the geographical location where it belongs. It is also spoken, and this, sparingly so, by Urhobo persons in the Diaspora. Presently, Urhobo has become a language of study at the Delta State University, Abraka. It has also been included in the educational curriculum for study at the lower cadre of secondary school education in the Delta State. This situation has triggered the author＇s interest in doing a contrastive phonological study. The significance of this study is that it will highlight the salient differences in some of the grammatical aspects in the languages under consideration and also identify the difficulties that learners experience as a result of these difficulties. The author will also, as much as it is possible, proffer solutions to these learning difficulties.

1 INTRODUCTION Within the framework of Generation Ⅳstudies, 9 Cr-lMo steel is considered to be a potential material for the construction of vessels and internal components of High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactors. Cyclic tests have been carried out, at 550℃, under single or combined loadings, on various notched specimens to determine the number of cycles to obtain the initiation of a crack. The goal was to compare these results to the prediction of the σ method, which is a simplified rule of the French design code, RCC-MR.

A mild-slope equation for combined refraction and diffraction of random waves in the independent time current is derived using Kirby equation(1984). In the derivation, the frequency of random waves is represented based on the time series concept, by a typical frequency and its deviation part. Numerical results, compared with those of laboratory experiments, demonstrate that new set of irregular mild slope equation with current is of good adaptability.

＜正＞Perfusion and oxygenation are critical determinants of radiosensitivity of tumor. It has been demonstrated that inhalation of carbogen （5% CO2, 95% O2） can effectively enhance tumor radiosensitivity, presumably by elevating tumor perfusion and oxygenahon. The proposed research is directed towards developing a non-invasive, readily accessible MRI methodology for assessing the spatial and temporal characteristics of tumor hemodynamic responses （i.e., pcrfusion and oxygenation） in response to carbogen breathing. To this end, the researchers have developed a novel functional MRI technique that allows for simultaneous messurement of perfusion and oxygenation. This technique has been tested vigorously on normal human subjects with excellent results in the measurement of steady state cerebral blood flow, as well as in functional activation studies. In this proposed research, the researchers will validate the use of this technique in monitoring changes of tumor perfusion and oxygenation in response to carbogen breathing Thirty-six brain tmnor patients will be carolled in this two-year project. Using this fMRI technique, the researchers will collect time series fMRI images before, during, and after csrbogen breathing. The spatial and temporal characteristics of individual tumors as delineated by the results will be used to time the carbogen administration for radiotherapy. The researchcrs will test: the hypothesis that the degree of enhancement of tumor perfusion and oxygenation due to carbogen breathing as revealed by fMRI would constitute a good indicator for the outcome of radiotherapy. If successful, this research would render a robust fMRI technique for momtoring tumor perfusion and oxygenation changes due to carbogen breathing, and as such, would help clinicians to optimize the timing of csrbogen breathing adminstration in radiation therapy on individual patients.
