Background and Objectives: Three post-marketing clinical follow-up studies were performed in Europe to confirm the safety and performance of four nonprescription, nasal cleansing medical devices: Otrivin Sea Water (OSW) pressurized spray, OSW with aloe vera (OSWAV), Otrisal 0.74% NaCl Metered-Dose Spray (MDS), and Prorhinel spray. Material and Methods: Observational, single-arm, retrospective studies consisting of a single online questionnaire were performed between July 2021 and December 2021. Eligible participants were adults who used the device or supervised use of the device in a participant under 18 years of age within 6 months of completing the questionnaire. Demographics, safety, and device performance were assessed. Results: Based on questionnaires submitted on OSW (n = 556), OSWAV (n = 555), Otrisal MDS (n = 555), and Prorhinel (n = 555), proportions of users who reported safety events were 1.8% for OSW, 2.3% for OSWAV, 1.4% for Otrisal MDS, and 2.0% for Prorhinel. Proportions of users who indicated they were satisfied or very satisfied with device performance ranged from 72.0% - 89.0% across all devices. Device performance for all products was also supported for additional preventative and symptomatic uses through exploratory analyses. Conclusions and Significance: These data confirm device safety and performance of OSW, OSWAV, Otrisal MDS, and Prorhinel for their intended uses.

The contribution deals with the optimization of a sequential preventive maintenance schedule of a technical device. We are given an initial time-to-failure probability distribution, model of changes of this distribution after maintenance actions, as well as the costs of maintenance, of a device acquisition, and of the impact of failure. The maintenance timing and, eventually, its extent, are the matter of optimization. The objective of the contribution is two-fold: first, to formulate a proper (random) objective function evaluating the lifetime of the maintained device relatively to maintenance costs;second, to propose a numerical method searching for a maintenance policy optimizing selected characteristics of this objective function. The method is based on the MCMC random search combined with simulated annealing. It is also shown that such a method is rather universal for different problem specifications. The approach will be illustrated on an artificial example dealing with accelerated lifetime after each maintenance action.

Noise measurement using mobile phones is now developed very well. While there are some good applications for the measurement of noise from road traffic, thus on processing of measured data is only paid a very little attention. The data, however, are burdened by specific errors and for further work with them it is necessary to adjust and determine their uncertainty. One of the biggest problems is inaccuracy in position versus the noise source and the shortest length of measurement that can be regarded as representative. Imprecision in terms of location can be determined by calculating the variance of possible distance from the noise source, which for measurement of traffic noise requires a map-matching data points both transverse to the street (sidewalk) network and in the longwise direction. During typical urban measurements, this error can even reach 7 - 10 dB. Three basic types of algorithms for the calculation of uncertainty and positional correction based on the type of input and output data (raster, vector, vector-oriented) were tested. Uncertainty in the variability of the measurement data is necessary to determine from the number of passing vehicles per time unit. The presented solutions are implemented in the Mobile Noise system.

用巯基乙酸甲酯改性3.0-5.0代聚酰胺-胺（PAMAM）树形大分子,用红外、拉曼光谱、核磁共振氢谱和元素分析对其进行了表征。借助巯基端基与银离子的配位作用,以巯基改性PAMAM为稳定剂,硼氢化钠为还原剂,还原AgNO3制备了纳米银溶胶,并用紫外-可见光谱和透射电镜对其分散性和稳定性进行了研究。结果表明：制备的纳米银具有较好的分散性和稳定性。

AIM To investigate the temporal sequence of pathological changes in the cellular structures of retina and choroidea in the early stages of diabetes in laboratory *** Experimental type 1 diabetes was modeled by three intraperitoneal injections of an alloxan solution into 30 male nonlinear rats at 16 wk of age. The 30 th and 60 th days from the final alloxan injection were chosen as the endpoints. Light and electron microscopy and morphometric and immunohistochemical studies were performed on histological slices of eyeballs from experimental *** Diabetic disturbances progressed to 60 d of the experiment. Thus, in the retina, a partial destruction of photoreceptors accompanied by interstitial edema was observed. The morphometric analysis revealed a reduction in the thickness of the retina. A reduction in the number of blood vessels of the choroid with disturbances of the endothelial cells and the vascular walls and a persistent reduction in the number of melanocytes were observed. The number of proliferating Ki-67 positive cells decreased, and the number of macrophages increased with diabetes *** The starting point in the development of destructive changes involves early reduction in the number of melanocytes of the choroidea and alterations in the retinal pigment epithelium.

Poly(methyl methacrylate)/poly(methacrylamide) copolymer (PMMA-co-PMAA) was synthesized by a free radical copolymerization of MMA and MAA monomers in methylethyl ketone using AIBN as radical initiator. Multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) were oxidized in KMnO4 acidic suspension. Carboxyl groups on the surface oxidized MWCNT were reacted with primary amide group of PMMA-co-PMAA copolymer in MEK solution under ultrasound to form polymer brush on the surface of MWCNT. With the help of TG analyses the amount of covalently grafted PMMA-co-PMAA copolymer onto MWCNT surface was determined as ?47 wt%. TEM analyses identified thin co-polymer layer adhered onto MWCNT surface with average thickness ?5 nm.

By testing 92 different biochars,this study had the objective to determine the relations between simple physico-chemical characteristics of biochar(elemental composition,ash fraction,specific surface area,process parameters)and infrared sorption characteristics revealing the presence of specific functional *** results of Diffusive Reflection Fourier Transformation Infrared Spectroscopy were statistically analyzed with multiple linear regression techniques and Principal Component Analysis(PCA)with the biochar characterization parameters as model *** dominant parameters affecting the functional group signals were the pyrolysis temperature,the H/C-ratio and specific surface area of the biochar and the ash *** models were able to explain 60-90%of data variance for specific peaks in the *** application of PCA could further reduce the input parameters to three main factors explaining 70.8%of total data *** of the first two main factors showed the similarity of infrared spectra of biochars produced at 300 and 450℃,whereas a pyrolysis temperature of 600℃ lead to a partial and a 750℃ to a nearly complete loss of biochar surface functional groups.

Blood cell morphology and count are not uniform across ***,between-species comparisons revealed that the size of red blood cells is associated with body size in some lizard taxa,and this finding was interpreted in the context of the metabolic *** the present study,we examined the numbers and the size of blood cells in 2 species of monitor lizards,the mangrove-dwelling monitor(Varanus indicus)and the savannah monitor(***),and we compared these traits in individuals of different body *** results revealed that during the course of ontogeny,the size of red blood cells increases with body *** the mass-specific metabolic rate decreases with body size and the cell volume-to-surface ratio decreases with the cell size,changes in the erythrocyte size might be the result of oxygen transport adjustment.

Sharka caused by Plum pox virus（PPV）is the most harmful disease of stone fruits in Europe and elsewhere in the *** is no highly PPV resistant cultivar of *** approach has led to the development of resistance through genetic *** this study,we evaluated a transgenic plum Prunus domestica L.,clone C5（*** Sweet）,where the PPV resistance is based on RNA interference（RNAi）.Resistance in C5 plums has been evaluated for PPV,Prune dwarf virus（PDV）,and Apple chlorotic leaf spot virus（ACLSV）in a regulated field trial in the Czech Republic for 12 years（2002–2013）.Even under high and permanent infection pressure introduced through graft inoculation of the viruses,PPV has been detected in C5 trees only in several leaves situated close to the point of inoculum grafting in the first nine *** symptoms of PPV disappeared year by *** PPV symptoms were observed in the last three years and results of ELISA detection were *** results were obtained,when RT-PCR was used for PPV *** natural infection of PPV by aphids was recorded in C5 plums,even if PPV infected plants were growing in the same experimental field in close ***-infections of PPV with PDV and/or ACLSV had practically no influence on stability of resistance in C5 *** years of field testing in the Czech Republic clearly demonstrated the high level of resistance of C5 either to PPV infection by graft inoculation or natural infection through aphid vectors.
